Trump Wages Economic War On US Allies; BRICS Builds Alternative System

The US government has always had a very aggressive foreign policy. The United States has intervened in dozens of countries all around the world. But what is unique about Donald Trump is that many of his aggressive policies not only target US adversaries like China, Russia, Iran, Venezuela, and Cuba, but also longtime US allies. Trump has imposed high tariffs that have hurt the economies of key US allies such as Japan, South Korea, and Europe. In fact, the details of the agreement that Trump imposed on Japan are quite shocking. This was reported on by the Financial Times, which wrote that “Japan confronts the increased price of US friendship”. Although I would say it’s not so much “friendship”; rather it’s vassalage. Japan has been militarily occupied by the US for 80 years, and we’re now seeing the cost of this imperial relationship.

Elephant And Dragon Choose Dialogue

At the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin on September 1, 2025, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met and publicly framed the relationship as “partners, not rivals.” Their readouts stressed dialogue on differences and cooperation on development – language that marks the clearest thaw since the 2020 Ladakh crisis. Two moves gave the reset substance, not just optics. First, India and China re-activated the Special Representatives (SR) dialogue on the boundary question in New Delhi on August 19, 2025, and second, they agreed to restart direct flights and expand people-to-people and business links, after a five-year freeze. These are communications channels that reduce miscalculation and restore some weight to a battered relationship.

Eurasia’s Re-Alignment In The Face Of Late Stage Barbarism

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s meetings in China last week (September 2 and 3) took a remarkable step forward in defining how the world will be dividing into two great blocks as Global Majority countries seek to free their economies not only from Donald Trump’s tariff chaos, but from the U.S.-sponsored increasingly Hot War attempts to impose unipolar control on the entire world’s economy by isolating countries seeking to resist this control with trade and monetary chaos as well as direct military confrontation. The SCO meetings became a pragmatic forum to define the basic principles that are to replace other countries’ trade, monetary and military independence from U.S. with mutual trade and investment among themselves, increasingly isolated from reliance on U.S. markets for their exports, U.S. credit for their domestic economies, and U.S. dollars for trade and investment transactions among themselves.

Xi Jinping Proposes A New Global Governance Framework At SCO Summit

The 25th Heads of State Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) concluded in Tianjin, China, on Monday, September 1, with the adoption of the Tianjin declaration, which calls for a peaceful and equitable global governance and increased South-South cooperation. The summit highlighted the “fluid and chaotic global situation” created due to the unilateral actions of some countries in the West. It noted that the fast changing global scenario has a profound effect on all aspects of life. In this context, the SCO adopted a strategy for the development of the block in the next 10 years, reiterating its faith in international law and the UN charter.

Confrontation Of NATO Vs. SCO; Two Radically Different Summits

Two major security alliances held summits in July. Each summit consisted of a bloc of major powers and nearby countries. Both alliances hold military exercises. Each summit meeting included guest and observer countries. The two summits could not have been more different in tone and in purpose. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) met in Astana, Kazakhstan, on July 3-4, to discuss mutual cooperation. A week later the North Atlantic Treaty Organization met in Washington, D.C., on July 9-11 to celebrate 75 years of militarism. At the meeting, NATO dared to demand Russia, China, Iran and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) sever ties with each other.
