US Regime Change

Venezuela Report Back Livestream Thursday 7 PM

Please join us for a livestream report this Thursday at 7 pm EST.  View the livestream at the Facebook page of NJ Revolutionary Radio, https://www.facebook.com/NJRevRad/. When we talked with Venezuelans they told us how pleased they were people from the United States were in Venezuela and could see what was really happening in their country. They wanted us to return to the United States and tell the truth about Venezuela -- that is exactly what we will be doing.

Venezuela: US Imperialism Is Based On Lies And Threats

We are completing what became more than a week-long peace delegation to Venezuela organized by the US Peace Council and the Committee for International Solidarity in Venezuela (COSI). The trip was complicated by American Airlines cancelling all flights in and out of the country, leaving us scrambling for ways to get there and get home. We also arrived in the midst of the attack on Venezuela's electrical system, which caused further complications. Our delegation met with community groups, political parties and members of the government, including a private meeting with President Maduro.

International Observers To Venezuela’s Election Pen Letter To The EU

We were unanimous in concluding that the elections were conducted fairly, that the election conditions were not biased, that genuine irregularities were exceptionally few and of a very minor nature. There was no vote buying because there is no way that a vote CAN be bought. The procedure itself precludes any possibility of anyone knowing how a voter cast her or his vote; and it is impossible – as we verified – for an individual to vote more than once or for anyone to vote on behalf of someone else. In short, the claims in your press release are fabrications of the most disgraceful kind. . . .

US Intelligence Official Advising Guaido On His ‘Regional Tour’

Since leaving Venezuela on Feb. 22, despite a travel-ban in place against him, opposition lawmaker Juan Guaido has deployed an intense agenda of attacking democratically elected President Nicolas Maduro as he travels to Colombia, Brazil, Paraguay, and other South American countries, whose right-wing leaders were quick to throw their support behind his self-proclamation as interim president.  Guaido has been accompanied by another woman: U.S. senior official Kimberly Breier.

The Peace Movement Goes To Venezuela

Kevin Zeese and Margaret Flowers of Popular Resistance will be part of the peace delegation to Venezuela. Zeese said, "It is important for people in the United States to stand up against the attempted US coup in Venezuela. The US should not be seeking to install a puppet president in a sovereign nation." Flowers added, "Our presence in Venezuela will let the people of Venezuela know that people from the United States oppose the attempted coup and respect the independence of Venezuela." Support Popular Resistance's participation in the peace delegation to Venezuela.

US Coup Suffers Defeat In Venezuela, Protests Grow Against US Intervention

February 23 may end up being a decisive day in the attempted US coup of Venezuela. US Puppet fake president, Juan Guaido, promised so-called humanitarian aid would break through the borders of Venezuela and be delivered. Guaido failed to deliver on that promise because he is not a real president and does not control Venezuela's borders. The day was one of embarrassing failure for the coup as in addition to failing to deliver aid, the coup plotters were caught in phony false flag events on the border, being violent and threatening the loss of lives. This was supposed to be a turning for the attempted coup, instead, it was a turning point for the defeat of the coup.

VIDEO: Investigating Venezuela’s ‘Humanitarian Crisis’: A Caracas Supermarket

It is evident from this video tour of a supermarket in Caracas that there is no shortage of food or basic needs including pet food in Venezuela. The US media is telling people in the United States that there is a crisis and humanitarian aid is urgently needed. Blumenthal shows the real problem is hoarding and speculation by the wealthy in Venezuela who are taking advantage of the economic crisis created by the United States. The flood of dollars coming from Venezuelans in the US causing hyper-inflation is the problem.

Correcting The False Narrative On Venezuela & Humanitarian Aid

The most immediate humanitarian aid that could be provided by the United States and Canada would be to drop the sanctions. The European Union and the United States plan to send $60 million in aid, despite the fact that the Venezuelan government is demanding the return of more than $23 billion dollars to Venezuela that is frozen in accounts being held in the U.S., Canada, and Europe that they consider stolen from their public treasury. This money could have been spent on the necessary importation of food and medicine for the benefit of the entire population.

Elliott Abrams Exposed In Congress, Chairman Says No War On Venezuela

The past of Elliot Abrams took center stage when he testified before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on February 13, 2019. The combination of protests over his past war crimes and past perjury along with the tough questioning by Rep. Ilan Oman resulted in Abrams being publicly shamed on national television. The controversy over the US coup even forced the right-wing chairman of the Committee, Eliot L. Engel, to pronounce his opposition to US military action in Venezuela.

Red Cross Of Colombia: US Action To Venezuela Is Not ‘Humanitarian Aid’

The head of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Colombia, Christoph Harnisch, said that the institution would not participate in the distribution of any assistance that arrives in Venezuela from the United States since it considers that it is not "humanitarian." The US government does not meet the criteria of being independent, impartial and neutral.

Organizing Tool Kit For Feb. 23 Hands-Off Venezuela Actions

International actions set for the weekend of February 23 come at a critical moment. Powerful mobilizations are needed globally to express solidarity with the people of Venezuela and to roundly denounce and challenge the U.S. and its allies by saying: No sanctions, no coup, no U.S. war! An Organizing Toolkit is now available online to assist with the planning and preparation of February 23 actions.

What Is The AFL-CIO’s Solidarity Center Doing In Venezuela

The NED-funded Solidarity Center–the AFL-CIO’s organization for acting around the world–has long been active in Venezuela, and not usually for good effect.  We demand that the Solidarity Center open their books, and honestly report about their current operations in that country. We have a right to know what if any role the Solidarity Center has played in the current march toward regime change in Venezuela. We have a right to know what kind of relationship the Solidarity Center has today with the CTV and other labor bodies, and in what ways it may be aiding economic sabotage. If the Solidarity Center is innocent of any wrongdoing, then it should open its books and show us.

Time To Mobilize: Transportation Centers Announced For Hands Off Venezuela Nat’l March

Trump has always said that the “mistake” of the Middle East wars was that the U.S. didn’t “take the oil.” It is time to stand up and with a clear voice say NO to the newest example of the “Monroe Doctrine,” which the U.S. government has used for over two centuries to repeatedly invade Latin America and the Caribbean, control its politics and extract its resources. The White House aims to overthrow the government of President Nicolás Maduro and replace him with Juan Guaidó. Guaidó is a U.S.-trained operative who was unknown to the vast majority of Venezuelans before he proclaimed himself president.

Coup President, Juan Guaido, Doesn’t Have a Constitutional Leg to Stand On

Donald Trump imagines Juan Guaidó is the rightful president of Venezuela. Mr. Guaidó, a man of impeccable illegitimacy. The Guaidó/Trump cabal’s fig leaf for legitimacy is based on the bogus argument that Article 233 of the Venezuelan constitution gives the National Assembly the power to declare a national president’s “abandonment” of the office. In which case, the president of the National Assembly can serve as an interim national president, until presidential elections are held. The inconvenient truth is that Maduro has shown no inclination to abandon his post, and the constitution says no such thing.
