People Across The Globe Disrupt ‘Business As Usual’ For Palestine

Around the world, people took action in solidarity with Palestine on November 9, determined to disrupt the “business as usual” that has led to almost 11,000 killed in the Gaza Strip. The call to “Shut It Down for Palestine” was convened by the Palestinian Youth Movement, National Students for Justice in Palestine, the ANSWER Coalition, the People’s Forum, the International Peoples’ Assembly, Al-Awda-NY, and the Palestinian American Community Center (PACC)-NJ. JASOD, a socialist party in Bangladesh, organized a demonstration in Dhaka, which condemned the US, the EU, and G-7 countries for their support of Israel.

Six Activists Arrested Outside Raytheon Protesting War Crimes

Arlington, Virginia – Activists from across the country gathered outside of Raytheon’s office at 1100 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA at 12:00 noon on November 8 to confront the war profiteer on its role in producing weapons that are causing extreme suffering and death to innocent children, women, and men around the world. As they gathered on the sidewalk outside of Raytheon, some of the individuals lay on the sidewalk and were covered with sheets representing people around the world who have been killed in US wars using weapons made by the war profiteer.  Others mourned over large dolls representing the children who have been killed by Raytheon’s weapons.

White House And Pentagon Directing IDF Genocidal War In Gaza

An investigative report published by the Intercept, an online journal, recently revealed that the United States was in the process of expanding a “secret military base” in the Negev desert under the control of the State of Israel. Such a military base provides further proof that Washington regards Tel Aviv as being key to maintaining imperialist dominance in West Asia and North Africa. The Intercept article written by Ken Klippenstein and Daniel Boguslaw noted that: “The U.S. Army is quietly moving ahead with construction at Site 512, a classified base perched atop Mt. Har Qeren in the Negev, to include what government records describe as a ‘life support facility’: military speak for barracks-like structures for personnel.

Global Media’s Unethical Coverage Is Facilitating Genocide In Gaza

As Palestinian journalists and trade unionists, we call on our fellow journalists around the world to take action to stop the horrifying bombardment of our people in Gaza and to adhere to the ethical principle of our profession. The world watches in horror as Israel attacks civilians in the occupied and besieged Gaza Strip from the land, sea and air, killing more than 9,000, injuring more than 30,000, and leaving many others trapped under the rubble. Meanwhile, Israel has distributed thousands of automatic weapons to extremist settlers in the occupied West Bank, who are openly planning and executing acts of wholesale ethnic cleansing.

‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 32: Gaza Turned Into ‘Graveyard For Children’

Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip entered its second month on Tuesday. At least 10,500 Palestinians have been killed and 24,000 injured in airstrikes and ground shelling, which have targeted houses, schools, hospitals, water tanks, solar panels, main roads, mosques, and universities. In less than a month, an estimated 25,000 tons of explosives have been dropped on the Gaza Strip, an area of 365 square kilometers where 2.3 million Palestinians live, the majority of them refugees whose families were expelled or fled from their towns during the 1948 war. The Israeli bombardment of Gaza has left no corner of Gaza safe for Palestinians. In the past month, all communications and internet have been cut in Gaza.

‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 27: Biden Calls For ‘Pause’ For First Time

Israeli airstrikes continued pummeling the Gaza Strip overnight on Wednesday and into Thursday, intensifying the assault on Thursday morning, the 27th day of Israel’s bombardment on Gaza. One of the targets of their airstrikes was the Jabalia refugee camp, according to Al Jazeera. The refugee camp has already been hit twice in the last few days, killing almost 200 people, wounding at least 777 others, and sparking international outrage. Martin Griffiths, the UN humanitarian chief, said, “This is just the latest atrocity to befall the people of Gaza where the fighting has entered an even more terrifying phase – with increasingly dreadful humanitarian consequences.”

‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 25: Israel Bombs Refugee Camp

On Tuesday afternoon dozens of Palestinians were killed in the vicinity of the Indonesian Hospital in the Jabalia area of the northern Gaza Strip, when Israel dropped six bombs, each weighing a ton of explosives. Al-Jazeera reported that an entire neighborhood in the center of Jabalia refugee camp was destroyed and victims include women and children. “More than 50 martyrs and around 150 wounded and dozens under the rubble, in a heinous Israeli massacre that targeted a large area of homes in Jabalia camp in the northern [Gaza] Strip,” Gaza’s health ministry said in a statement. The hospital director said that they saw burn injuries and disfigurements of the bodies and that they could not fully count the number of people killed.

Deeper Into Depravity

I am reminded of what I learned years ago when studying the Japanese Imperial Army’s conduct in China and Korea before and during World War II and the long record of the Kempeitai, commonly known as Imperial Japan’s Thought Police. Victimizers, I came to conclude with conviction, are victims, too. This holds for the people in the videos I have recently viewed and for every Israeli wearing an IDF uniform. They have been stripped of all ordinary decency by the radical ideologues of “the Jewish state.” They can laugh or sneer or pull all the triggers they like: Their lives, too, have been destroyed. Look at the videos: The evidence of this is in every frame.

Fighting Colonial Oppression, Genocide From The United States To Palestine

On November 4, people from across the country will gather in Washington, DC for the 15th Annual March to the White House organized by the Black is Back Coalition. Clearing the FOG speaks with Chairman Omali Yeshitela about the theme of this year's march, building an anti-colonial free speech movement in solidarity with peoples who struggle around the world. Yeshitela is one of the Uhuru 3, who are facing 15 years in jail for their activism. Yeshitela speaks about the historic ties between the black and Palestinian liberation movements. Then, Marjorie Cohn, former president of the National Lawyers Guild, joins the program to speak about a new legal brief on the complicity of the United States with Israel in its commission of genocide and other war crimes.

‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 24: Israel Enters Second Phase Of Its War

On Monday afternoon, Israel began the second phase of its war on Gaza, which continues to unfold after Israeli bombardment continued from Sunday night and into Monday morning, reportedly focusing on the north of the Gaza Strip, where Israeli forces have attempted to advance. The bombardment killed dozens of people.  Both Hamas and Israel reported Israeli army tanks approaching the outskirts of Gaza City, where witnesses told AFP they blocked an essential road that links the north of the Gaza Strip to the south. Similarly, Al Jazeera reported that Israeli tanks are dividing Gaza into two parts after their incursion towards Salah al-Din Street, a vertical road running through Gaza.

‘Operation Al Aqsa Flood’ Day 20: Israel Using Starvation As A Weapon

Gaza’s population of over 2 million, which continues to be carpet bombed, is still being denied fuel, clean water, and adequate food supply by Israel’s ongoing siege on the enclave. The situation is “horrific” as millions are being “collectively punished in full view of the world,” says Oxfam, a British charity focused on alleviating global poverty.  “It’s estimated that only three liters of clean water are now available per person. The UN said a minimum of 15 liters a day is essential for people in the most acute humanitarian emergencies as a bare minimum,” they stated.

Here Are Some War Crimes Committed By Israel In Gaza

Amidst extensive media coverage of the atrocities in Gaza, an unsettling pattern emerges. Media reports often document Israel’s airstrikes on civilian areas, hospitals, schools, and UN shelters. Yet, they consistently accompany these accounts with a disclaimer, attributing these actions to a response to the Hamas attacks of October 7. This narrative not only justifies Israel’s collective punishment of Gaza but also depicts Palestinians as mere collateral damage, implying their lives hold little worth. This soft propaganda, being pushed upon billions of people by the media, effectively whitewashed Israel’s crimes instead of holding it accountable for its wanton breaches of international law.

‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 14: 13 Killed In Raid On Refugee Camp

On Thursday night, Israel bombed the Greek Orthodox St Porphyrius Church, the oldest church in Gaza, dating back to the 5th century. According to the Ramallah-based Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila, 17 Palestinians were killed in the airstrike, including Muslim and Christian families who had been sheltering in the church. The historic church also suffered major structural damage. Located in the historic al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City, in close proximity to the recently bombed Al-Ahli Arab Hospital, the churched serviced members of Gaza’s Christian minority, which make up around 1% of the Strip’s population.

‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 12: Calls For Gaza Ceasefire Mount

Calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza are mounting, in the wake of a devastating Israeli hospital bombing on the night of Tuesday, October 17, which Gaza health officials have described as a “massacre.” United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for an immediate ceasefire on Wednesday morning, October 18, as he condemned the “collective punishment” of Palestinians. Along with calls for a ceasefire, Guterres called for the immediate entrance of emergency humanitarian aid into Gaza, which has been prevented by Israel for more than a week, despite numerous warnings from UN and human rights agencies that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is catastrophic due to lack of food, water, and power.
