Syria Falls

During and after its fight against takfiri terrorists Syria had come under heavy sanctions. Its main assets in the east were under U.S. control. Israel's airforce was bombing its military infrastructure at will. It was ripe to fall. As soon as the bogus ceasefire in Lebanon was signed Turkey unleashed its takfiri 'Syrian rebels', many of them foreigners, against Syria. These were exceptionally well armed and trained. They have (vid) night vision equipment, drones, artillery, Starlink communication and a capable, professional command. The Syrian Arab army proved to be unreliable. Some units just vanished.

Ten Points On The fall Of Bashar al-Assad’s Syria

On Sunday, December 8, after over a week of intense fighting between the Syrian government and the terrorist group Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allied factions, who gained control over key cities in the country, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad fled Syria. The news was announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry which also informed that with his resignation, al-Assad instructed his prime minister to stay in charge of the state to oversee a peaceful transition of power to opposition forces. The development happens 14 months into Israel’s genocide in Gaza, and weeks after signing a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah.

Al-Qaeda-Linked ‘Rebels’ In Syria Say They ‘Love Israel’

The United States spent billions over years arming and training militants in Syria, many linked to Al-Qaeda and ISIS. Current US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan admitted back in 2012 that “AQ [Al-Qaeda] is on our side in Syria”. In late November 2024, armed extremists took over Syria’s second-biggest city, Aleppo, in an operation sponsored by NATO member Turkey. Some of the Al-Qaeda-linked “rebels” that rule the Syrian provinces of Aleppo and Idlib told the Israeli media that they “love Israel”. They vowed to establish a new pro-Western regime in Syria.

Iran, Iraq Vow Support For Syria During Tripartite Summit In Baghdad

Tehran and Baghdad expressed support for Syria on 6 December during a press conference to discuss the recent expansion of extremist groups across the country, following meetings between the foreign ministers of the three states in the Iraqi capital. “There is an international duty to fight terrorism in Syria,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said during the press conference. The foreign minister thanked Baghdad for hosting the tripartite meeting in the Iraqi capital, where he “held important meetings with the presidencies in Iraq in which he talked about relations between the two countries and the situation in Syria."

What Are Terrorists In Syria Trying To Achieve?

For the past few days, foreign-backed terrorists in Syria’s northwest have been attacking Syrian army positions in the Aleppo and Idlib countryside, and shelling civilian districts of Aleppo. While regional media have been giving updates on these attacks and counterattacks by Syria and Russia, what is less clear is what is happening in Aleppo itself. Terrorist-aligned media claim Tahrir al-Sham (al-Qaeda re-branded) and allied terrorists have taken numerous western districts and even the city center. But their proof – short videos showing terrorists in various areas they claim to control – was countered by videos of Syrians walking in key districts, saying things are calm. More on this later.

United Nations Demands Israeli Withdrawal From Golan Heights

The UN General Assembly adopted on 3 December a resolution demanding Israel’s withdrawal from Syria’s illegally occupied Golan Heights, which the Israeli army captured during the 1967 war. The resolution demanded “once more” that Israel withdraw from the occupied Golan Heights “to the line of 4 June 1967" while stressing the illegality of settlement building and other activities in the territory. “The continued occupation of the Syrian Golan and its de facto annexation constitute a stumbling block in the way of achieving a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the region,” it added. Any decision imposing laws or jurisdiction in the region is “null and void and has no validity whatsoever.”

The US And Israel Quietly Revived Al-Qaeda Allies In Syria

As Syrian opposition forces, spearheaded by the Al-Qaeda affiliate Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, intensify their offensive to seize more territory after capturing Aleppo, Washington has distanced itself from the attack—a remarkable reversal, considering its longstanding support for weaponizing so-called “moderate rebel” groups based in Idlib. Under President Barack Obama, the U.S. government secretly poured billions into a covert operation designed to topple Bashar al-Assad’s government. The CIA’s Timber Sycamore program, one of the agency’s most expensive undertakings, at its peak, funneled $100,000 per Syrian militant trained—many of whom would ultimately fight under the banner of Al-Qaeda-linked factions.

Neocons Try Again in Syria

On the neocon list of ways to make the world safer for Israel, Iran originally occupied pride of place. “Real men go to Tehran!” was the muscular brag. But Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was persuaded to acquiesce in a less ambitious plan — to “do Iraq” and remove the “evil dictator” in Baghdad first. As the invaders/occupiers got bogged down in Iraq, it seemed more sensible to “do Syria” next. With the help of “friendly services,” the neocons mounted a false-flag chemical attack outside Damascus in late August 2013, blaming it on President Bashar al-Assad, whom U.S. President Barack Obama had earlier said, “had to go.”

Ukraine’s ‘White Wolves’ Fighting Alongside Extremists In Syria

Ukraine’s White Wolves special operations unit is deployed in northern Syria alongside Hayat Tahrir al-Sham-led (HTS) militants who are waging an assault against the Syrian government in the countryside of Idlib and Aleppo, according to multiple sources cited by Al Mayadeen on 3 December. There is “direct Ukrainian involvement … in ongoing battles against the Syrian army across the fronts of Aleppo, Hama, and Idlib,” Al Mayadeen’s sources said. “The Ukrainian units operating in Syria are part of the White Wolf group, which is affiliated with Ukraine's Security Service.” The White Wolves unit is known for its expertise in the development and use of drones.

Syrian Dirty War’s Secret Origins

On November 27th, ultra-extremist militants Hayat Tahrir al-Sham launched a vast offensive in Syria. Within days, the Turkey-backed faction seized significant swaths of Aleppo, the country’s second-largest city, and advances elsewhere continue. While disinformation on the scale and success of HTS’ incursions abounds on social media, establishment news outlets remain a redoubtable source of manipulation and deceit. No context to the current upsurge of violence is provided, although reference has been widely made to supposedly “peaceful” protests in 2011 that produced the decade-long Syrian civil war.

Terrorist Groups Take Control Over Key Areas In Northwestern Syria

For the past several days, the official Syrian Armed Forces (Syrian Arab Army-SAA) have been engaged in fierce battles with a number of terrorist groups across northwestern Syria. The groups appear to have captured Aleppo in addition to dozens of villages, towns, and military sites in the northwestern Syrian governorates of Aleppo and Idlib after engaging in fierce clashes with the official Syrian Armed Forces and allied forces since Wednesday, November 28. The groups that have reportedly used medium and heavy weapons also have disrupted the key international highway connecting Aleppo with the Syrian capital Damascus, and seized control of the junction.

Regional War Is Heating Up In West Asia

“The UAV force of Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a military operation targeting a vital target in the [Tel Aviv] area in occupied Palestine with several Yaffa drones. The operation successfully achieved its objectives, as the drones reached their targets without the enemy being able to [shoot them down],” Saree said in a statement shared on social media. The Ansrallah official did not give any details about the target of the strike, which he described as being part of the “fifth phase” of Yemen's military operations in support of the Palestinian resistance in Gaza. Saree also called on “all Arab and Islamic peoples to [stand in support of] the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples” as the first anniversary of the 7 October Operation Al-Aqsa Flood approaches.

US Occupation Base Hit By ‘Intense’ Rocket, Drone Strikes In Syria

US forces at Washington’s occupation base in the Conoco oil field near eastern Syria’s Deir Ezzor governorate came under heavy attack during the early hours of 29 September. “Intense rocket and drone bombardment targeted the headquarters of the US occupation's armored forces stationed at the Conoco gas field base in Deir Ezzor,” Al Mayadeen's correspondent cited field sources as saying. “The intense shelling on Conoco resulted in direct hits on the headquarters of the armored division,” according to one of the sources. Sputnik’s correspondent reported the attack left casualties among the occupation troops. Local sources said the strikes were launched in response to a series of US airstrikes on Deir Ezzor’s Harabeesh neighborhood.

Syria And Iraq: Unsung Heroes In Defending Lebanon And Palestine

Syria and the Islamic Resistance in Iraq are demonstrating exceptional solidarity with Lebanon, providing critical aid and defense against Israeli terrorist attacks and indiscriminate bombings, yet their contributions remain largely unrecognized. They are the unseen forces behind Lebanon’s defense and resilience, backing Hezbollah, the country’s militant resistance organization. Syria has bolstered its defensive and humanitarian efforts, while the Iraqi resistance has intensified its offensive operations. They, alongside Iran and Yemen, are united in their material support for Lebanon and Palestine. Syria has significantly increased its defensive measures and humanitarian aid to Lebanon.

Arab States Warn Israel ‘Pushing For All-Out War’

Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq warned in a joint statement on 25 September that Israel is “pushing” the region into a state of all-out war. The joint statement was made on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York. “Israel is pushing the region into a comprehensive war,” the foreign ministers of the three Arab states said, condemning the ongoing Israeli attacks across Lebanon and calling on “the international community and the Security Council to assume their relevant responsibilities to stop the war.” Stopping this “dangerous escalation underway in the region” must begin “by halting Israel’s aggression in Gaza,” they added.
