Trump Commands Venezuela’s Heavens Closed

US President Trump ordered the airspace above and surrounding Venezuela “closed in its entirety” on November 29. Yet the US has as much legal and moral authority to shutter the skies over Venezuela as the Venezuelans have to close the putting greens at Mar-a-Lago. Yes, that’s ridiculous – but not any more so than Washington’s phony pretext of drug interdiction for their deadly regime-change offensive against Venezuela. To date, the Yankee military has murdered over 80 people in alleged “drug boats” in the southern Caribbean and eastern Pacific but has yet to confiscate a single milligram of narcotics from Venezuela. The Venezuelan authorities, in contrast, have seized 64 tons of cocaine this year that were being transited through their country and have done so without killing a single person.

Former president Jair Bolsonaro was arrested on Saturday morning, November 22, by the Federal Police (PF). In a statement, the PF reported that it carried out “a preventive arrest warrant in compliance with a decision from the Supreme Federal Court.” Under house arrest since August 4, Bolsonaro of the Liberal Party (PL) was taken to the PF Headquarters after being detained at his home around 6 am in Brasília. According to authorities, Saturday’s detention is a precautionary measure and does not constitute the beginning of his 27-year and three-month sentence for which the far-right former president was convicted in the coup plot trial.

Venezuela: Failed US Plot To Kidnap President Maduro Revealed

An intelligence agent from the US empire has been caught attempting to co-opt an airplane pilot working for Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in order to kidnap him, according to an Associated Press report. The report details how a US Homeland Security Investigations agent, identified as Edwin Lopez, approached the Venezuelan pilot after learning in 2024 that two private jets frequently used by President Maduro were being repaired in the Dominican Republic. Lopez told the pilot to divert a flight carrying the Venezuelan president to a site where he could be kidnapped by US operatives, offering a multimillion-dollar reward and even threatening his children.

Jair Bolsonaro Found Guilty By Brazilian Supreme Court

On the afternoon of Thursday, September 11, Supreme Court Minister Cármen Lúcia cast the vote to cement the majority decision to convict former President Jair Bolsonaro and seven other allies accused of coup plot. In her vote, the minister stated that “Jair Messias Bolsonaro committed the crimes with which he is charged as the leader of a criminal organization. He was not swept up into the insurgency. He is the instigator, he is the leader of an organization that promoted all forms of coordination aligned with the goal of maintaining or seizing power.” She continued: “There is clear evidence that the group led by Jair Messias Bolsonaro and composed of key figures in the government developed and implemented a progressive and systematic plan to attack democratic institutions with the aim of undermining the legitimate alternation of power in the 2022 elections and undermining the free exercise of other constitutional powers, especially the judiciary.”

In the middle of April, the provisional government of Burkina Faso, led by Captain Ibrahim Traoré, announced that it had uncovered and dismantled a plot to “sow total chaos” in Burkina, in yet another “attempt to destabilize republican institutions.” The masterminds of the plot are said to have benefited from the help of neighboring Côte d’Ivoire, a veritable French neo-colony. In Burkina Faso, thousands of people demonstrated on April 30 in Ouagadougou and other cities in support of the government, which previously revealed that it had foiled a “great conspiracy” hatched in Ivory Coast and rejected interference by the United States of America.

On Monday, the evening of April 21, Burkina Faso’s military authorities announced that they had dismantled a “major plot” aimed at promoting a coup and “sowing total chaos” in the West African country. The announcement was made by the Minister of Security, Mahamadou Sana, who stated that the leaders of the coup attempt are allegedly based in Côte d’Ivoire, whose government under President Alassane Ouattara is allied with France’s interests in the region. According to the minister, the plan of the “terrorists” would be carried out on April 16, 2025, through an assault on Burkina Faso’s presidency by soldiers recruited by the “enemies of the nation.”

On January 3, three days after a South Korean court issued an arrest warrant for suspended president Yoon Suk Yeol on charges of leading an insurrection and abusing authority, investigators from the Corruption Investigation Office went to the presidential residence to execute the warrant—the first against a sitting president in Korean history. When investigators tried to arrest Yoon, they were confronted by hundreds of his supporters who had camped out to shield him. Following a dramatic five-hour standoff with the presidential security team, who had formed a “human wall” to block the path to Yoon, the investigators eventually retreated. The warrant remains valid until January 6.

In the wake of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol’s 6-hour coup, Western pundits have opined that this was an affirmation of South Korean democracy’s robustness and resilience, its institutional maturity and strength. This is like saying after a survivor fights off an assault, that this demonstrates a mature state of legal order. Hardly. It signals the opposite. Certainly, it highlights courage, but it isn’t a demonstration of a robust state of rights. It demonstrates a gaping, terrifying lack of order.

Yoon’s own cabinet members had dissented in fear of defeat, and Yoon was forced to retreat within hours of his martial law declaration.

US Citizens Among 37 Sentenced To Death Over Congo DR Coup Attempt

Three US citizens were among 37 defendants sentenced to death by a military court on Friday for their involvement in a failed coup attempt in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in May. On May 19, armed men briefly seized control of a presidential office in Kinshasa before security forces killed their leader, US-based Congolese politician Christian Malanga. Among the Americans on trial were Malanga’s son, Marcel Malanga, and his friend, Tyler Thompson. Thompson had accompanied Marcel to the DRC. The third American, Benjamin Zalman-Polun, was a business associate of Christian Malanga.

The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro was welcomed at Miraflores Palace by the Great National March for the Defense of Peace, which brought together tens of thousands of his followers in the streets of Caracas and different cities across the Venezuelan territory. On Saturday, August 3, President Maduro welcomed the attendees from Miraflores Palace and said: “Blessed are the majority of this country, because we won the elections thanks to the fact that a majority believed in the path of peace, because we are the only guarantee of peace.” He also condemned the violence perpetrated by criminal groups and stated that the country will remain firm in defending the constitution and the rights of its citizens.
