Retired Security Officials Warn Israel On ‘Precipice Of Defeat’

Over a dozen former Israeli security officials issued a joint video statement on 3 August demanding an end to the war in Gaza and warning that Tel Aviv is on the brink of “defeat.” Former officials have also demanded that US President Donald Trump pressure Israel to end the genocidal campaign which has raged since October 2023 – in a separate letter accompanying the video and signed by 550 former security officials. The video statement was made by 19 retired army chiefs, intelligence heads, Shin Bet and Mossad directors, and police commissioners.

PEN America Claims To Support Free Speech

On March 25, PEN America fired me for living up to their mission. This termination came only three days after I published an article in Mondoweiss titled “Why was I investigated for sharing an article critical of Zionism by the ‘free speech’ organization PEN America?,” three years into my tenure on the membership and National Engagement team. Nine months earlier, after I shared an article on unlearning Zionism to our internal listserv, PEN leadership sent my colleagues and me an email stating that workers could be terminated for discriminatory action.

Thousands Of Pro-Palestine Protesters March Across Sydney Harbour Bridge

Thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators in Australia marched across the Sydney Harbour Bridge on Sunday as part of a rally calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and humanitarian aid to be allowed into the enclave, Anadolu reports. While weekly marches have taken place every Sunday since October 2023, this is the first time the Palestine Action Group has held its protest on Sydney’s iconic bridge. The Palestine Action Group Sydney organized the March for Humanity, calling on “everyone, every individual and every organisation, who cannot bear to do nothing in the face of this atrocity, to join with us.”

International Sociological Association Suspends Israeli Sociological Society

Global Sociologists for Palestine (GS4P) applauds the successful boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) mobilization for justice in Palestine spearheaded by its members at the International Sociological Association (ISA) Forum held in Rabat, Morocco, in July 2025. At the international level, the BDS mobilization represents a landmark achievement in the global social science academic landscape. It was the first major successful BDS campaign at an academic sociological association, as realized through the suspension of the Israeli Sociological Society (ISS) by ISA due to pressure from its membership.

Badar Khan Suri, Georgetown Researcher Abducted by ICE, Speaks Out

Dr. Badar Khan Suri was returning home from a campus iftar on March 17 when masked Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents jumped out of an unmarked car and detained him outside his home. He had not been charged with any crime. Suri is an interdisciplinary scholar focusing on religion, violence, and peace, especially in the Middle East and South Asia, and works as a researcher at the Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Georgetown University. Over the course of two months, ICE held him in detention centers throughout the South. Since his release on May 14, he has been challenging his warrantless arrest and detention in federal court, bringing claims under the First and Fifth Amendments.

Israel’s International Isolation Has Begun

We’ve never lived through such rapid change in the politics of Israel as we are now. Two nights ago more than half of Democratic senators – 27– voted to block some arms sales to Israel. A day before that, the UK and Canada said they will recognize a Palestinian state at the U.N, echoing France’s recent statement.  These are steps that advocates for Palestinians thought might be years away. But today the world is shocked by Israel’s starvation of Gaza, and the mainstream press is at last reporting the charge of genocide.   Israel’s international isolation has begun.

Denver Continues Protests Against Palantir

Denver, CO – On July 26, Coloradans gathered outside Denver’s Union Station in a rally against software development company Palantir, which is complicit with apartheid Israel. Palantir develops artificial intelligence used both by ICE to facilitate mass arrests and deportations and by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), with programs like “Lavender” and “Where’s Daddy” used to target and slaughter innocent Palestinian civilians and families by identifying targets, tracking them back to their homes, and deploying bombs. The protesters took aim at the Tabor Center, a skyscraper located in downtown Denver which leases out the 15th floor to Palantir to use as its headquarters.

Building Power for Palestine and for a New World Order

From 15–16 July 2025, thirty states met in Bogotá, Colombia at an Emergency Conference on Palestine, which was convened jointly by Colombia and South Africa as co-chairs of the Hague Group. The Hague Group, which began organizing in January 2025, formed as a bloc of countries to coordinate legal and diplomatic measures in solidarity with the Palestinian people. The Hague Group is compromised of Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Honduras, Malaysia, Namibia, and South Africa. The Bogotá conference in July brought together additional countries from across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. In response to Israel’s continuing and intensified genocide of Palestinians, conference participants unanimously agreed “that the era of impunity must end—and that international law must be enforced without fear or favour through immediate domestic policies and legislation.”

Pro-Palestine Activists Target US-Backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation

For days, pro-Palestine protesters in the Washington, DC metropolitan area have organized pickets and rallies to “confront” leaders of the now-infamous Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. On July 25, dozens of protesters gathered outside of the home of GHF’s Interim Executive Director John Acree, banging pots and pans, holding signs that read “our tax $$$ could fund UNRWA and end genocide but Joe + Don choose to fund genocide.” Demonstrators wrote a message in chalk on the asphalt: “WAR CRIMINAL LIVES HERE GOOGLE GHF”.

US Lawmakers Demand Probe Into Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’s ‘Aid Traps’

A group of 92 Democratic US House members has called on Secretary of State Marco Rubio to launch a formal investigation into the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), citing serious concerns about its funding, operational conduct, and role in civilian massacres at aid distribution sites in Gaza. Led by Representative Sean Casten, the lawmakers pointed out GHF's lack of prior humanitarian experience and questioned its suitability to serve as a primary aid delivery mechanism. They urged greater oversight to ensure aid reaches Palestinian civilians safely and in compliance with international standards.

Break The Bonds Campaign Pressures States To Divest From Israel

On July 13, roughly 100 people convened in Military Park in Newark, New Jersey for the launch of Break the Bonds, a new statewide campaign in solidarity with Palestine. Inspired by the BDS Movement — a call from Palestinian civil society organizations to boycott and divest from Israel’s economy — the activists in New Jersey vowed to get their state to divest from Israel Bonds. These bonds, as organizers explained, are direct loans that individuals and institutions make to the Israeli treasury, enabling its ongoing genocide in Gaza and broader oppression of Palestinians.

Media Largely Ignored Gaza Famine When There Was Time To Avert Mass Starvation

Since the October 7 attacks, Israel has severely restricted humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, using starvation of civilians as a tool of war, a war crime for which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Yoav Gallant have been charged by the International Criminal Court. Gallant proclaimed a “complete siege” of Gaza on October 9, 2023: “There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel, everything is closed.” Aid groups warned of famine conditions in parts of Gaza as early as December 2023. By April 2024, USAID administrator Samantha Power (CNN, 4/11/24) found it “likely that parts of Gaza, and particularly northern Gaza, are already experiencing famine.”

Final Two Handala Volunteers Freed From Israeli Occupation Prison

This morning, the final two Handala volunteers held in Givon Prison–Christian Smalls from the United States and Hatem Aouini from Tunisia–were freed via Jordan’s King Hussein/Allenby Bridge after five days of unlawful imprisonment in occupied Palestine. Both had been on hunger strike to protest mistreatment. Aouini was received by the Tunisian embassy at the border. Despite repeated requests for assistance, neither the U.S. Consulate nor U.S. Embassy officials met Christian at the border, even after being notified in advance of his arrival details.

No To Fascist Austerity! No Pride In Genocide!

Over 1,500 demonstrators rallied outside Boston City Hall on July 23 to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). A coalition of Massachusetts disability rights organizations and labor unions, including Boston Center for Independent Living, Dignity Alliance Massachusetts and Service Employees International Union 1199, along with dozens of others sponsored the commemoration. Decades of protests, sit-ins and shutdowns by disabled activists and their allies forced Congress to pass the ADA in 1990.

Pro-Palestinian Initiative Holds Daily Protests Outside The Greek Parliament

Athens, Greece — On the evening of Saturday, July 26, pro-Palestinian protesters crafted and placed puppet dolls dedicated to the children killed in Gaza outside the Greek Parliament. The demonstration was organized by Initiative Against Genocide, a group staging sit-in protests and other activities in solidarity with Palestine and against the war in Gaza outside the Greek Parliament and in Syntagma Square, every day since June 21. Among the Initiative’s actions, which are mainly communicated through social media, are sit-in protests, musical events and speeches by activists like Freedom Flotilla Coalition’s Thiago Ávila.
