Washington Gives Guaido $52M In Funding, Slaps Venezuela With New Sanctions

Caracas, September 25, 2019 (venezuelanalysis.com) - Self-proclaimed “Interim President” Juan Guaido and the Venezuelan opposition have been given US $52 million by the Trump administration. According to a Tuesday statement from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the funding will be destined for independent media, civil society, the health sector and the opposition-controlled National Assembly. In addition, USAID administrator Mark Green announced on Wednesday that the US will commit $36 million in aid to Venezuela, as part of a relief program led by the United Nations.

A Hundred Minutes In Jail With Lula

The former president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, imprisoned in the city of Curitiba, in the south of the country, is only allowed two visits per week. One hour. On Thursday afternoons, from four to five. We have to wait our turn. And the list of those who want to see him is long… But today, September 12, it’s time for Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, and me. Lula is in prison, serving a sentence of 12 years and 1 month “for passive corruption and money laundering”, but he has not been definitively convicted (he can still appeal) and above all, his accusers have not been able to prove his guilt.

Brazil: Temer Admits Impeachment Of Dilma Rousseff Was A Coup

Brazil's former President Michel Temer acknowledged that the impeachment of former president Dilma Rousseff, Worker's Party leader, was indeed a coup d'etat. During a TV interview watched by millions on Monday, the man who ruled Brazil from Aug. 2016 to Dec. 2019 stated that he never supported the "coup" which led to the impeachment of Rousseff, a leftist economist who held the Presidency from 2011 until her removal. "I never supported or committed to the coup," Temer confessed and added that he tried to prevent the political trial against Dilma.

Rachel Maddow Endorses Regime Change In Venezuela To “Push Russia Back,” Sympathizes With Bolton And Pompeo

The loudest voice among the corporate media hack pack doubling down on Russiagate conspiracies is MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. On May 3, Maddow took her propaganda to an entirely new level of militaristic cheerleading, launching into a rant that offered de-facto encouragement for the current neocon cause-du-jour: regime change in Venezuela. Maddow not only cast Trump as a Russian stooge for daring to discuss – and possibly de-escalate – the Venezuelan crisis with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the top-rated liberal cable news host expressed sympathy for John Bolton and Mike Pompeo, the most militaristic members of the Trump administration.

Venezuela Probes Guaido Over Photos With Colombian Drug Traffickers

Caracas, September 15, 2019 (venezuelanalysis.com) - Venezuela’s attorney general has opened an investigation into opposition leader Juan Guaido concerning purported links to armed far-right groups in Colombia. Tarek William Saab told reporters on Friday that a prosecutor had been tasked with investigating links between Guaido and Colombian paramilitary group “Los Rastrojos,” which operates in the Colombian province of North Santander. The head of the country’s National Assembly became embroiled in controversy after photos surfaced on Thursday showing him posing with high-ranking figures of Los Rastrojos.

Cuba, Uruguay, Nicaragua Reject TIAR Treaty Against Venezuela

The governments of Cuba, Uruguay and Nicaragua have strongly rejected the TIAR treaty activation against Venezuela, which could authorize the use of military force against Caracas government if the countries part of the treaty deemed it a threat to security or peace in the region. Cuban President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, denounced the embarrassing decision of activating TIAR as he called it “a poorly legally supported excuse to intervene in Venezuela’s internal affairs”, something he declared to be “unacceptable”.

Venezuela: US And 11 Latin American Countries Approve Activation Of TIAR

The United States and eleven Latin American countries spoke out in favour of a possible military intervention against the Venezuelan government. They did so through the activation in an assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) of the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance (TIAR), a 1947 agreement that commits to mutual defense among American nations, that is, the possibility of establishing an armed coalition. “This decision acknowledges the fact that the depth of the Venezuelan crisis obliges us to appeal to all mechanisms,” said the chief of staff of Luis Almagro...

Pro-Hong Kong Rally In DC Against “CHINAZI Regime” Being Sponsored With US Govt-Linked Money

A planned Washington DC protest in support of Hong Kong activists and promoting the ‘Chinazi’ flag is being sponsored by at least six organizations backed by the notoriously shady, US-funded National Endowment for Democracy (NED). Posters for the event circulated online contain an image of the so-called ‘Chinazi’ flag – an altered version of the Chinese national flag with the yellow stars arranged to form a swastika and with a hammer and sickle placed in the center.

Propaganda Blitz Against Bolivia’s Progressive Government

On 26 August, Novara Media’s website published a vicious and reactionary article titled ‘It’s Not Just Brazil’s Forests That Are Burning, Bolivia Is on Fire Too’ by prominent Extinction Rebellion speaker and activist Claire Wordley.  Novara and Wordley are recycling from the same imperialist playbook which has been drawn on in recent attacks against Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua – the so-called Troika of Tyranny. The gist of Wordley’s article is that Bolivian President Evo Morales is to blame for the fires raging in the Amazon rainforest...

What Are Our Tasks And Perspectives To Defend Venezuela?

President Hugo Chavez said these words at a civic-military parade in Caracas, Venezuela on July 5, 2011, during the 200th anniversary of Venezuela’s Declaration of Independence from Spain. As Chavez explains, through the achievements of the Bolivarian revolutionary process, now, the people of Venezuela not only mark their independence from Spain but also their tremendous advances towards independence from US imperialism.

Venezuela, Ukraine, Hong Kong, … : Color Revolutions And Regime Change, A Modern Scourge Spawning Economic Destabilization And Civil War

This is a phenomenally heroic example of human integrity, and the success of socialism. President Maduro has assembled a team of brilliant leaders to represent his government, in particular, his Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, an intellectual aristocrat of the highest order,  his expert Ambassador Samuel Moncada, and many others of remarkable sophistication, whose capacity to see beyond the idiocies of bourgeoise propaganda is admirable, and indeed, enviable.

The Citgo Conspiracy: Opposition Figures Accuse Guaidó Officials Of ‘Scam’ To Liquidate Venezuela’s Most Prized International Asset

On August 13, Juan Guaidó, the president of Venezuela’s legally defunct National Assembly, held a press conference in the streets of Caracas to discuss his nominee for the post of Citgo Petroleum Corporation’s CEO. “We have interviewed Carlos Jorda,” Guaidó announced in a carefully rehearsed intonation, explaining that the candidate to oversee the former Venezuela state-owned oil company would be tasked with “supporting and helping Citgo [safeguard its] assets.”

Colombia: CIA Platform For Aggression Against Venezuela

On August 28, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the creation of the Venezuela Affairs Unit (VAU), which will be located in the U.S. Embassy in Bogota, Colombia. This moves leaves no doubt that Colombia is being designated as the main platform for a US made coup d’état against the constitutional and legitimate government of Nicolas Maduro and the servile role that Colombian President Ivan Duque is expected to play. The Venezuelan Affairs Unit will be headed by James Story, a former chargé d’affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Caracas...

Ottawa Goes To Havana To Talk Venezuela. Returns Empty-Handed

Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland has just concluded a working visit to Cuba on August 28 intended to discuss the “crisis in Venezuela” with her Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez. A reading of the news release from the Ministry indicates that there were no tangible results aside from a statement that the two foreign ministers had “different perspectives on the crisis in Venezuela”, having agreed to disagree, and that “senior officials would stay in contact and continue to exchange views”.

The U.S. Footprint In Bolivia’s Incipient Colour Revolution

The burning of the forest immediately gave way to an aggressive campaign in social networks and media against President Evo Morales, attributing the fires to Decree 3973 and Law 741 that supposedly allow deforestation and controlled burning for activities oriented to agriculture and cattle ranching. “Las leyes de quema y desmonte” (The laws of burning and clearing) was the qualification that the opposition daily El Tiempo used for both legislations, omitting that one of them was approved by opponents and government officials in Congress, according to the president of the Senate, Adriana Salvatierra.
