Israel Started A War With Iran, But It Doesn’t Know How It Ends

The war between Israel and Iran marks the culmination of decades of shadow-boxing between Tehran and Tel Aviv. This is a war that has long worn the mask of deniability, played out in assassinations, cyber operations, and various forms of entanglements from Damascus to the Red Sea. Its rules were unwritten but widely understood: escalation without full rupture. But now it’s unfolding in a surprise Israeli intelligence and military attack, which was met with a subsequent Iranian retaliation against Israeli military installations and strategic infrastructure. While Israel’s capacity for precise targeting — its assassinations of nuclear scientists, the killing of Iranian commanders, and its strikes on enrichment sites — has rarely been in doubt, its broader strategic horizon remains conspicuously blurred.

Political, Military Iranian Figures Vow Revenge, Slam US Complicity

Senior Iranian political figures have pledged a decisive response following the Israeli aggression on Iranian territory. Officials also directly blamed the United States for enabling the aggression, warning that accountability will extend beyond the battlefield. On his part, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf issued a stark warning, declaring that the Islamic Republic will respond forcefully to the Israeli aggression. “The time has come for decisive retaliation, through any means and by every available tool,” Ghalibaf declared in a televised address. “The Zionist regime will not escape the consequences. What they have begun, we will bring to an end.”

Israel Renews Attacks; Iran Replaces Assassinated Leaders

New Israeli airstrikes hit the Iranian cities of Tabriz and Shiraz on the afternoon of 13 June, several hours after the start of Tel Aviv’s large-scale campaign against the country. Circulating footage showed massive plumes of black smoke rising over the two cities. According to Iranian media reports, the new strikes on Tabriz targeted the city’s international airport. Israel’s Channel 12 reported that warplanes bombed a missile production plant in Shiraz. Earlier, Iran appointed replacements for the top military and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officials that were assassinated during the largescale Israeli bombing campaign against the country.

Condemning Repression Of Sumoud Convoy, Global March To Gaza

La Via Campesina, representing millions of peasants, landless workers, rural women, and grassroots movements in over 80 countries, declares a state of political and moral alert in response to the catastrophic regional escalation triggered by Israel’s war on Gaza and the broader Palestinian people. In the early hours of today, the Israeli occupation launched large-scale airstrikes on Iran — a dangerous development that transforms what was already a genocidal campaign in Palestine into a regional war with unforeseeable consequences. This marks a new phase in a long-standing colonial project, now fueled by imperialist impunity, aimed not only at crushing Palestinian resistance but also at destabilizing the entire region through military aggression, collective punishment, and political domination.

Maersk Faces Growing Pressure For Supporting Israel’s Genocide In Gaza

On June 11, hundreds of activists from Jewish Voice for Peace and the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) occupied the lobby of shipping giant Maersk’s headquarters in New York to protest the company’s ongoing involvement in, and support for, Israel’s genocide in Gaza. The action followed the release of a new PYM report documenting Maersk’s deep involvement in the global supply chain of F-35 fighter jets, which are routinely used to bomb schools, hospitals, and refugee camps in Palestine. “Maersk has shipped the wings for every Israeli F-35 delivered since at least March 2022, including those for five additional Israeli F-35s scheduled for delivery by 2028,” the report states.

European Dockworkers Refuse To Load Weapons Aimed At Palestine

On June 4, in response to the unfolding genocide in Gaza, France’s CGT dockworkers refused to load arms components bound for Israel at the country’s largest port in Fos-Marseille. Their action forced the ship to leave port without its deadly cargo. Across Europe, dockers carried on the fight. In Genoa, Italian dockworkers pledged to inspect the same vessel and block it if weapons were found. At the Italian ports of Salerno and Scilla, the ship sparked protests. Sophie Binet, the CGT’s national secretary-general, called on the French government to immediately halt arms deliveries to Israel.

United States Anticipating Potential Israeli Attack On Iran

The US is on high alert in the Middle East and is anticipating a potential Israeli attack on Iran, The Washington Post has reported. Amid the anticipation, the US is reducing the presence of non-essential personnel in the region. The report said that “in recent months, US intelligence officials have grown increasingly concerned that Israel may choose to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities without the consent of the United States.” US officials told The Associated Press on Wednesday that the military has authorized the “voluntary departure” of the dependents of US troops from locations across the Middle East.

GHF Contractor Reveals ‘Horrific’ Details Of US-Israeli ‘Aid Traps’

An anonymous US security contractor employed at one of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’s (GHF) aid sites in the Gaza Strip has slammed the entire initiative as “pure chaos,” calling it “absolutely horrific” while accusing Israeli forces of continuously firing at unarmed Palestinians. “I thought I was signing up for an aid mission. But what I've witnessed in Gaza is horrific,” the anonymous contractor wrote in a Zeteo article published on 12 June. “I am one of hundreds of security contractors who have been in Gaza to facilitate aid under the new US-backed GHF project. And it’s all bullshit,” the contractor added.

Over 150,000 Protest Across Europe Against Gaza Blockade

Tens of thousands of people joined protests across Europe demanding the release of the Freedom Flotilla crew aboard the vessel Madleen and calling on their governments to take immediate action to ensure the delivery of essential supplies to the Gaza Strip. Demonstrations took place in dozens of cities across Britain, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Spain, France, and beyond, just hours after Israeli occupation forces abducted Madleen and confiscated its humanitarian cargo. Protesters condemned the silence of European governments and institutions regarding the flotilla’s mission and the crew’s ordeal, warning that they once again failed to hold Israel accountable for its violations of international law.

Dartmouth Students Launch Hunger Strike In Support Of Gaza

Last week, six Dartmouth College students began a hunger strike in support of Gaza. The activists are demanding that Dartmouth’s Board of Trustees approve the Dartmouth Divest for Palestine divestment proposal, which was recently rejected by the college. They’re also calling for the school to lift its suspension of student Roan Wade, who was targeted over their involvement in campus protests. Mondoweiss U.S. correspondent Michael Arria spoke with Wade, and fellow hunger striker Greyson Xiao about the hunger strike. Both students are members of the Palestine Solidarity Coalition.

Iran’s New Intelligence Operation Shatters Israeli Security’s Prestige

Amidst an escalation of threatening rhetoric between Tehran and Tel Aviv, Iran has revealed an intelligence operation of historic proportions. The Iranians not only claim to have retrieved thousands of classified Israeli documents, but now warn Israel that it can hit its secret nuclear weapons sites in the event its own are targeted. On June 7, Al Mayadeen News and Iranian state broadcasters began releasing exclusive stories about a massive intelligence operation carried out by Tehran’s intelligence services “inside the Zionist Entity”. According to Al Mayadeen’s original scoop, “thousands of documents related to the Israeli occupation’s projects and its nuclear facilities” were seized, and the operation had taken place some time ago and could only be revealed now due to security concerns.

Legal Actions Target Airbnb Listings In Illegal Israeli Settlements

Did you know that there are currently over 300 properties listed for rent on Airbnb that are situated in Israel’s illegal settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, as well as Palestinian refugee properties that were taken during the Nakba? In November 2018, Airbnb promised to “act responsibly” and remove all listings in the illegal settlements, but just a few months later, in April 2019, it shamefully reversed the decision. Even following the ruling by the International Court of Justice in July 2024, that Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory is illegal and that all States must prevent trade or investment that support the occupation – Airbnb's listings in the settlements continue.

The Last Days Of Gaza

This is the end. The final blood-soaked chapter of the genocide. It will be over soon. Weeks. At most. Two million people are camped out amongst the rubble or in the open air. Dozens are killed and wounded daily from Israeli shells, missiles, drones, bombs and bullets. They lack clean water, medicine and food. They have reached a point of collapse. Sick. Injured. Terrified. Humiliated. Abandoned. Destitute. Starving. Hopeless. In the last pages of this horror story, Israel is sadistically baiting starving Palestinians with promises of food, luring them to the narrow and congested nine-mile ribbon of land that borders Egypt. Israel and its cynically named Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), allegedly funded by Israel’s Ministry of Defense and the Mossad, is weaponizing starvation.

Israeli Forces Detain Freedom Flotilla Activists

Adalah – The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel has sent an urgent legal letter to Israeli authorities demanding information on the whereabouts of the 12 activists forcibly detained after Israeli naval forces unlawfully seized the Madleen, a vessel sailing as part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. Israeli forces intercepted the Madleen in international waters at around 3:00 a.m. Israel time on 9 June 2025, and contact with the activists was lost. This peaceful civilian mission sought to break Israel’s illegal blockade of Gaza, enforced as part of a broader policy of engineered starvation and an ongoing 20-month-long genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

In Solidarity With Gaza, La Via Campesina Joins Convoy To Rafah

The overland “Steadfastness” Convoy to break the siege on Gaza will depart from Tunisia on the morning of Monday, June 9, 2025, under the slogan: “The chains must be broken.” The convoy will travel through Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt, with the goal of reaching the Rafah crossing. As a member of La Via Campesina’s Arab and North Africa Region, the Association of the Million Rural Women and Landless (MRWL) is a key partner in the organization, support, and mobilization for this popular overland convoy. The convoy coincides with the Global March to Gaza and the Freedom Flotilla, where freedom-loving people from around the world will gather at Rafah on June 14, 2025, in solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
