President Maduro Shuts Venezuela’s Border With Brazil

Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro announced Thursday the closure of Venezuela's border with Brazil adding that his government was evaluating the total shutdown of the country's border with neighboring Colombia amid mounting threats of intervention against the country by the United States and its allies.  "Venezuela closes land border with Brazil on Thursday, February 21st from 8 pm until further notice," Maduro said during a meeting with the Superior General Staff of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

Meet Juan Guaido’s First Ambassador, Fake Twitter Diplomat Slammed By Costa Rica For ‘Unacceptable Entry’

While tweeting that she had taken charge of Venezuela’s Embassy in Costa Rica on February 20, Maria Faría demonstrated that she was more familiar with the conventions of social media than those dictating international diplomacy. “In fulfillment of the diplomatic functions, assigned by President Juan Guaido”, tweeted Faría, referring to the US-appointed leader of Venezuela’s parallel coup government, “we assume control of the administrative headquarters of the Embassy of Venezuela in San Jose”. The surprise announcement came early Wednesday morning from inside the Embassy, leading many to wonder how Faría...

Act Now To Stop War On Venezuela

On Saturday, February 23, there will be demonstrations in Venezuela and around the world against foreign intervention and military threats against the Maduro government. This is the one month anniversary of the United States-led attempted coup and the same day the self-declared coup president, Juan Guaido, has declared that "humanitarian aid" from the US Agency for International Development (USAID) will be brought into Venezuela possibly from Colombia, Brazil and the Netherland's ABC islands (Aruba,Bonaire, and Curaçao). What Did Elliott Abrams Have To Do With The El Mozote Massacre?

In a testy exchange with Elliott Abrams on Wednesday, Representative Ilhan Omar resurrected the memory of El Salvador’s El Mozote massacre, one of the worst mass killings in modern Latin American history. Omar, a Democrat from Minnesota, was all of two months old when the December 1981 massacre took place. Abrams, President Donald Trump’s new special envoy for Venezuela, was a senior State Department official in the Reagan administration, which was sending military and economic aid into El Salvador to defeat a leftist insurgency and stop what it saw as a wave of communism approaching the United States.

How Much Of Venezuela’s Crisis Is Really Maduro’s Fault?

The recognition by U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former Vice President Joe Biden of Juan Guaidó as Venezuelan president is the latest demonstration of the consensus in Washington over the nefariousness of the Nicolás Maduro government. Not since Fidel Castro’s early years in power has a Latin American head of state been so consistently demonized. But the 1960s was the peak of the Cold War polarization that placed Cuba plainly in the enemy camp, and unlike Venezuela today, that nation had a one-party system.

VIDEO: Investigating Venezuela’s ‘Humanitarian Crisis’: A Caracas Supermarket

It is evident from this video tour of a supermarket in Caracas that there is no shortage of food or basic needs including pet food in Venezuela. The US media is telling people in the United States that there is a crisis and humanitarian aid is urgently needed. Blumenthal shows the real problem is hoarding and speculation by the wealthy in Venezuela who are taking advantage of the economic crisis created by the United States. The flood of dollars coming from Venezuelans in the US causing hyper-inflation is the problem.

Black Alliance For Peace Says Struggle In Haiti And Venezuela Connected

FEBRUARY 18, 2019—The Black Alliance for Peace (BAP) remains in steadfast solidarity with the people of Haiti, whose revolutionary spirit in 1791 showed the world what is possible when Africans organize and struggle together to remove their shackles and dispose of their oppressors. The recent revelation that Haitian President Jovenel Moïse embezzled nearly $4 billion Venezuela had loaned the island nation a decade ago caused the popular uprising taking place in the country. And this is where we see where U.S. interventions in Venezuela and Haiti connect.

Venezuela Expels Euro Deputies Amid Reports Of Talks With Washington

Merida, February 18, 2019 (venezuelanalysis.com) – Venezuelan authorities have expelled six deputies of the European Parliament (EP) this Sunday after denying them entrance to the country. The European politicians, who travelled in a personal capacity, had previously been warned through diplomatic channels that they would not be allowed in the country, but the group opted to proceed with the trip. The delegation was made up of MEP Esteban Gonzalez Pons, MEP Jose Ignacio Salafranca, and MEP Gabriel Mato, all from Spain’s hard-right Popular Party. Also present were MEP Juan Salafranca from Spain’s European People’s Party...

Venezuela Advances Investigation Against Guaido

“Clearly, this legislative body through criminal means intends to seize national powers,” Attorney General Tarek William Saab said. Venezuela’s public prosecutor's office is advancing the investigation on the lawmaker, Juan Guaido, of the National Assembly, the legistlative body in contempt under the constitution, over his attempt to usurp governmental powers after proclaiming himself interim president of Venezuela. Attorney General Tarek William Saab said that Guaido and his National Assembly appointments are part of a foreign-backed illegal power grab, adding that ambassadors of Guaido’s self-declared interim government are also being investigated as part of the investigation.

Everyone Has Fallen For The Lies About Venezuela

Let’s take a second to go over the big three. There are three things that seem to provoke the ornery United States into overthrowing or bringing down a foreign government, no matter how many innocent civilians may die in the process. (If enough die, the perpetrators often get nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.) If your country has one of these things, the U.S. might screw with you. If your country has two of these things, the U.S. will definitely screw with you. If your country has three of these things, then look behind you, because the U.S. is currently screwing you...

Financial Blockade: Chronology Of A Strategy To Destroy Venezuela

Sanctions against Venezuela are real and palpable mechanisms of destruction of the State, its identity and, with it, of Venezuelan society. They form part of a war strategy based on the application of diverse resources and sophisticated tools of financial hegemony against fundamental nodes of our national life. Although in Venezuela there are no bombs falling down and no U.S. Marines are seen disembarking along the coasts, there is plenty of evidence of the resources of permanent aggression, nationally and internationally, used on the part of corporate and political sectors.

Social Movements Show Support To The Bolivarian Revolution

Several groups of artists, journalists, intellectuals and social groups from around Latin America have shown their support for Venezuela, its Bolivarian Government, and have rejected any interventionist acts perpetrated by the United States. In Argentina, the group of intellectuals Carta Abierta met in Buenos Aires to state their support to the President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro, in the face of the U.S. attacks that have promoted a coup in the country through right-wing opposition groups. Through a statement entitled "Our Support for the Government of Nicolas Maduro", the members of the group assured that the attacks suffered by Venezuela are part of the "most brutal exercise of a new act of imperial domination, of decrepit imperial domination."

Facts Don’t Interfere With Propaganda Blitz Against Venezuela’s Elected President

The Miami Herald (2/8/19) reported, “Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro continues to reject international aid—going so far as to blockade a road that might have been used for its delivery.“ The “Venezuelan leader” reporter Jim Wyss referred to is Venezuela’s elected president. In contrast, Wyss referred to Juan Guaidó as Venezuela’s “interim president.” Guaidó, anointed by Trump and a new Iraq-style Coalition of the Willing, did not even run in Venezuela’s May 2018 presidential election. In fact, shortly before the election, Guaidó was not even mentioned by the opposition-aligned pollster Datanálisis when it published approval ratings of various prominent opposition leaders.

Venezuela – Media Find Trump’s Coup Plan Does Not Work

The U.S. coup planners and their Venezuelan puppets had hoped that the Venezuelan military would jump to their side. That was wishful thinking and unlikely to happen. They also thought up some "humanitarian aid" scheme in which pictures of trucks crossing a long blocked bridge would soon shame the Venezuelan president into stepping down. That was likewise nonsense. Unless the U.S. is willing and able to escalate, the coup attempt is destined to fail. 'Western' media now recognize that phase 2 of the coup plan is in deep trouble. Today the Guardian, Bloomberg and the New York Times all describe growing frustration with the lack of success.
