By Deepa Bharath for Orange County Register - A day after several videos surfaced of angry marchers punching and cursing at protesters, journalists and others at the Make America Great Again rally in Huntington Beach on Saturday, those who were assaulted are asking why police didn’t act to stop the violent brawl that broke out minutes into the march. The event, billed as the “MAGA March,” was one of about 50 organized across the country to support President Donald Trump, the military, veterans, law enforcement and emergency responders. Organizers said they were hoping for a family-friendly, kid-friendly march. But that wasn’t what they got.

Speaking from a stage in Parliament Square, Begg referenced a speech by the US president in which he said he would be sending more inmates to the controversial facility.

As protests against Trump and his policies sweep the nation, activists took to the streets in front of 9 Prospect Park West, the apartment building where Schumer lives in the upscale neighborhood of Park Slope. Demonstrators chanted, “Chuck! Chuck! Don’t sell us out! We need a fighter to knock Trump out!” and, “No hate! No fear! Refugees are welcome here!” as they marched toward Schumer’s house. Schumer, the top-ranking Senate Democrat, has been an outspoken opponent to many of Trump’s picks for the new administration.
