Dissolve The Palestinian Authority, Embrace A One-State Solution…Now

This paper is grounded on three assumptions. First, it takes for granted the death or the impossibility of achieving the two-state solution due to the non-stop Israeli settlement expansion across the territories of the long-yearned for Palestinian state. Moreover, the Palestinian cause is off the agenda of the various Israeli parties and there is no genuine international willingness or ability to bring pressure to bear on Israel to have the withering solution off the hook. Many Palestinians and Israelis believe that by failing to provide a just solution to the problem of the Palestinian refugees...

Palestinian Rage Roaring Over US Policy Shift On Israeli Settlements

The demonstrations had been called by different Palestinian factions on Tuesday to condemn US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s announcement that the establishment of Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank “is not per se inconsistent with international law.” The protests were held in several towns and cities across the occupied West Bank and the blockaded Gaza Strip, with the participants calling on the international community to take action against Washington and Tel Aviv.

How The Spirit Of The Indigenous Occupation Of Alcatraz Lives On, 50 Years Later

In 1969, indigenous activists occupied Alcatraz Island, demanding that their treaties be honored. Fifty years later, they’re still fighting. For most people, Alcatraz Island is nothing more than a San Francisco tourist destination — home to the infamous penitentiary and Al Capone’s jail cell. But for Kris Longoria, who prefers to be known by her artist name, UrbanRezLife, Alcatraz Island is home. From 1969 to 1971, when UrbanRezLife was eight years old, she and her family were among a group of nearly a hundred indigenous activists who occupied the island, protesting treaty violations and boldly demanding sovereignty.

UN Adopts Eight Resolutions In Condemnation Of Israeli Crimes In Palestine

According to UN Watch, the texts condemn Israel for “repressive measures” against Syrian citizens in the Golan Heights, renew the mandate of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), and renew the mandate of a UN special committee to investigate “Israeli practices affecting the human rights of the Palestinian people.” Through the resolutions, UN is "expressing grave concern at the especially difficult situation of the Palestine refugees under occupation, including with regard to their safety, well-being and socioeconomic living conditions."

US Announces Illegal Israeli Settlements Are No Longer Illegal

The United States' announcement that Israel's settlements in the occupied West Bank are not "inconsistent with international law" has been met with widespread derision and rejection, with one Palestinian leader calling it "a threat to global stability, security, and peace". On Monday, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the Trump administration believes "that what we've done today has recognised the reality on the ground", rolling back decades of policy in Washington. "The establishment of Israeli civilian settlements is not, per se, inconsistent with international law," Pompeo told reporters.

When A Whole Society Supports A Terrorist Organization

After the 2008-9 Israeli onslaught on Gaza that took 1500 lives, a UN fact-finding mission concluded that the three-week campaign was “a deliberately disproportionate attack, designed to punish, humiliate and terrorize a civilian population.” Note the word “terrorize.”  But was this an isolated incident? Not at all. Israel has a long and sordid history of state-terrorist activity. There was the pre-state terror, which eventually served as a means of ethnic cleansing, known as the Nakba of 1948. Those Palestinians who tried to return were shot by the thousands, most of them unarmed.

The Death Toll Of The Aggression On Gaza To 11 Martyrs

GAZA - Israeli warplanes are continuing their air raids on the Gaza Strip, which began on Tuesday morning, leaving 11 people dead and more than 45 wounded. The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced the martyrdom of two citizens in the northern Gaza Strip, while Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Dabous, 26, died of his wounds sustained in the shelling of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip. It also announced the death of four citizens targeting an Israeli in Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip

Israel Destroyed Record Number Of Palestinian Homes In Jerusalem In 2019

Israel has demolished a record number of homes in occupied East Jerusalem in 2019, the most in the past 15 years, Israeli rights group B’Tselem reported on Thursday. More than 140 Palestinian homes were demolished, resulting in the displacement of 238 Palestinians, 127 of them minors. Of the homes that were destroyed, 39 were destroyed by the owners themselves after they received demolition orders from Israel, in order to avoid incurring the municipality’s demolition fees. This year’s demolitions far surpassed the second highest number of demolitions, which occurred in 2016 when 92 homes were destroyed.

Over 350 Faculty Members Have Declared That They Refuse To Be Intimidated By The Trump Administration Over Palestine

Over 350 faculty members have signed a petition supporting Palestinian rights and declaring that they won’t be intimidated by the Trump administration’s recent targeting of Middle East studies programs on campus. The petition was circulated by Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) in response to the Department of Education (DOE) carrying out an investigation over a campus conference on Gaza that occurred last year. This past March, the Consortium for Middle East Studies (a joint program between the University of North Carolina and Duke University) held a conference called “Conflict over Gaza: People, Politics, and Possibilities.”

Occupying Forces Out, Defend Syria Sovereignty & Territorial Integrity

The U.S. Peace Council strongly condemns the illegal incursion of the Turkish forces into Syria with the approval of the Trump Administration and in direct violation of the United Nation’s Charter and international law. Immediately after Turkish incursion, the US war establishment, Republican and Democrat alike, went on a broad attack on Trump’s decision to “withdraw” US forces from Syria, calling it a disaster for US foreign policy. According to the New York Times (October 14): “Mr. Trump says his decision to pull American troops out of the way of the Turkish advance was part of his effort to extricate the United States from ‘endless wars’ in the Middle East and elsewhere.”

Global Day Of Action Against Turkish Invasion On Oct. 12

Since the establishment of the Kurdish democratic autonomous self-administration in North and East Syria (DASA), the border between Turkey and North and East Syria has been highly secure and no armed actions against Turkey have originated from this territory. In recent talks mediated by the US administration between the DASA and the Turkish state, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have demonstrated their willingness to work for lasting peace. The new statement released by the White House, US President Donald Trump has violated the agreement negotiated between the DASA and the Turkish state.

US Plans Permanent Occupation Of Syrian Territory

International law is clear and unequivocal. No nation may interfere in the internal affairs of others. No foreign military of proxy force may occupy another country’s territory. No nation may attack another state without Security Council authorization — permitted only in self-defense, never preemptively for any reasons. As a signatory to the UN Charter, international laws of war and related ones are automatically US constitutional law under its Supremacy Clause (Article VI, Paragraph 2).

Gazans Honor 78 Children Killed At The Fence

Israeli forces attacked non-violent protesters in different parts of the Gaza Strip on Friday, killing one Palestinian and wounding 57, including 18 who were shot with live ammunition. The Palestinian protest organizers called this Friday’s March of Return the “Friday of 78 Children”, in honor of the 78 children killed by Israeli forces since the weekly protest marches began in March of 2018. According to local Palestinian medical sources, 28-year old Alaa Nizar Ayesh Hamdan was shot and killed by Israeli forces in a protest east of Jabalia town in the northern Gaza Strip while participating in the March of Return protest. He was taken to the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza, where he was declared dead. In addition to Hamdan, Israeli forces shot 18 Palestinian protesters with live ammunition, several of whom had critical injuries. 39 Palestinians suffered from other injuries inflicted by the Israeli military, including being hit with so-called ‘less-lethal’ weaponry, and reactions to tear gas resulting in hospitalization.

Palestine Lambasts US Over Its Removal From Countries List

It’s not clear when the listing was removed and the State Department denies any change in policy. But the website now mentions Palestinians on its page for Israel, in the context of the Trump administration’s peace efforts. During a press appearance in France, on Monday US President Donald Trump was questioned as to whether the removal of PA from the website was “conducive” to his peace efforts. Trump referred reporters to the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo saying: “You can ask Mike Pompeo.”

The Hawaiian Kingdom Still Reigns: Alleged Statehood Is Illegal

In a textbook United States regime change operation, wealthy businessmen manufactured a revolution in Hawai'i and executed a coup d'état in 1893. The Queen of the Hawai'ian Kingdom surrendered the administration of the country, but never its sovereignty. A Hawai'ian Kingdom government continues to operate to this day and is working to regain its sovereignty. We speak with Hawai'ian Kingdom Foreign Minister Leon Siu about the story of Hawai'i's struggle for independence and the broken promises of the US government over the past century. This struggle is escalating through the current protests at Mauna Kea and has big plans in store this fall. We discuss where people in the US can learn more and how to support the Hawai'ian independence movement.
