Fighting Colonial Oppression, Genocide From The United States To Palestine

On November 4, people from across the country will gather in Washington, DC for the 15th Annual March to the White House organized by the Black is Back Coalition. Clearing the FOG speaks with Chairman Omali Yeshitela about the theme of this year's march, building an anti-colonial free speech movement in solidarity with peoples who struggle around the world. Yeshitela is one of the Uhuru 3, who are facing 15 years in jail for their activism. Yeshitela speaks about the historic ties between the black and Palestinian liberation movements. Then, Marjorie Cohn, former president of the National Lawyers Guild, joins the program to speak about a new legal brief on the complicity of the United States with Israel in its commission of genocide and other war crimes.

‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 24: Israel Enters Second Phase Of Its War

On Monday afternoon, Israel began the second phase of its war on Gaza, which continues to unfold after Israeli bombardment continued from Sunday night and into Monday morning, reportedly focusing on the north of the Gaza Strip, where Israeli forces have attempted to advance. The bombardment killed dozens of people.  Both Hamas and Israel reported Israeli army tanks approaching the outskirts of Gaza City, where witnesses told AFP they blocked an essential road that links the north of the Gaza Strip to the south. Similarly, Al Jazeera reported that Israeli tanks are dividing Gaza into two parts after their incursion towards Salah al-Din Street, a vertical road running through Gaza.

‘Operation Al Aqsa Flood’ Day 20: Israel Using Starvation As A Weapon

Gaza’s population of over 2 million, which continues to be carpet bombed, is still being denied fuel, clean water, and adequate food supply by Israel’s ongoing siege on the enclave. The situation is “horrific” as millions are being “collectively punished in full view of the world,” says Oxfam, a British charity focused on alleviating global poverty.  “It’s estimated that only three liters of clean water are now available per person. The UN said a minimum of 15 liters a day is essential for people in the most acute humanitarian emergencies as a bare minimum,” they stated.

Here Are Some War Crimes Committed By Israel In Gaza

Amidst extensive media coverage of the atrocities in Gaza, an unsettling pattern emerges. Media reports often document Israel’s airstrikes on civilian areas, hospitals, schools, and UN shelters. Yet, they consistently accompany these accounts with a disclaimer, attributing these actions to a response to the Hamas attacks of October 7. This narrative not only justifies Israel’s collective punishment of Gaza but also depicts Palestinians as mere collateral damage, implying their lives hold little worth. This soft propaganda, being pushed upon billions of people by the media, effectively whitewashed Israel’s crimes instead of holding it accountable for its wanton breaches of international law.

‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 14: 13 Killed In Raid On Refugee Camp

On Thursday night, Israel bombed the Greek Orthodox St Porphyrius Church, the oldest church in Gaza, dating back to the 5th century. According to the Ramallah-based Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila, 17 Palestinians were killed in the airstrike, including Muslim and Christian families who had been sheltering in the church. The historic church also suffered major structural damage. Located in the historic al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City, in close proximity to the recently bombed Al-Ahli Arab Hospital, the churched serviced members of Gaza’s Christian minority, which make up around 1% of the Strip’s population.

‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 12: Calls For Gaza Ceasefire Mount

Calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza are mounting, in the wake of a devastating Israeli hospital bombing on the night of Tuesday, October 17, which Gaza health officials have described as a “massacre.” United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for an immediate ceasefire on Wednesday morning, October 18, as he condemned the “collective punishment” of Palestinians. Along with calls for a ceasefire, Guterres called for the immediate entrance of emergency humanitarian aid into Gaza, which has been prevented by Israel for more than a week, despite numerous warnings from UN and human rights agencies that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is catastrophic due to lack of food, water, and power.

Decency Becomes Indecent

There have been many, very many singular moments among America’s purported leaders and assorted officials and commentators since Hamas staged its daring assault on southern Israel on the morning of Oct. 7. Let us consider a few of these moments and draw some conclusions. Let us look closely at what is being said and what the American public is now urged to think and accept as Israeli forces prosecute a campaign against Gaza’s 2.1 million people so extreme as to suggest ethnic cleansing is, as many have long argued, the ultimate Israeli project. “Well, there have been some members of Congress who have called for a ceasefire, and they have not gone as far as backing the administration’s call for support for Israel.”

Israeli Airstrike On Gaza City Hospital Kills At Least 500 People

An Israeli airstrike on the al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City has killed more than 500 people, according to Palestinian health authorities and journalists on the ground. According to Al Jazeera journalist Maram Humaid, a spokesman for the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported an initial estimate of 200-300 casualties. The health ministry has updated estimates to 500 people killed. Tareq Abu Azzoum, reporting for Al Jazeera from Khan Younis in southern Gaza, detailed that the bombing on the hospital courtyard came without warning and has caused significant damage to the building, which continues to provide medical services.

‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood,’ Day 10: Hospitals Turning Into Morgues

On Monday, October 16, one week since Israel tightened its siege on Gaza, media reports citing Egyptian security officials began circulating that a temporary ceasefire was going into effect on Monday morning to allow the entry of humanitarian aid into southern Gaza through the Rafah crossing. Reports also claimed that the temporary ceasefire would go into effect in southern Gaza, where Israel has been corralling Palestinians since Friday, to allow Palestinians with dual nationalities to leave the Strip through Egypt. But hopes of fuel and essential supplies, as well as safe passage out of Gaza for a few, were quickly dashed when Israel denied ever having agreed to a ceasefire.

‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day Nine

Sunday, October 15, marked the ninth day since Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was launched by Hamas out of Gaza. Israel has continued to pound the Gaza Strip with airstrikes every day since, killing at least 2,329 Palestinians, including more than 700 children. Israel has killed more Palestinians in Gaza in nine days than it did over the course of 50 days during “Operation Protective Edge” in 2014, which, up until today, had been one of Israel’s deadliest offensives on Gaza since the beginning of its siege in 2007. According to Gaza’s health ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra, the past 24 hours were the deadliest since Israel’s bombardment began, with more than 300 Palestinians killed.

US Opposes Peace As Israel Ethnically Cleanses Palestinians

The Israeli government is in the process of ethnically cleansing more than 1 million Palestinians, pushing them out of their homes in Gaza. According to senior Israeli officials, the plan of the far-right Benjamin Netanyahu government is to force Palestinians into the desert of Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, where they will live in so-called “tent cities”. At the same time, Israel is brutally bombing the besieged Gaza strip – one of the most densely populated areas on Earth. There are even reports that Israel has attacked convoys of Palestinian civilians who were abiding by its evacuation order and fleeing from the north to the south of the 40-kilometer strip. Meanwhile, the United States has adamantly refused to support calls for peace.

IADL Statement: Support The Palestinian People

The International Association of Democratic Lawyers, (IADL) a worldwide NGO of progressive law professionals with consultative status at ECOSOC in the UN, reaffirms its support to the Palestinian people and their legitimate struggle against occupation, aggression, apartheid policies and continuous violations of the rights of the Palestinian people.

Israel Tells 1.1 Million Gazans To Evacuate In Under 24 Hours

On the seventh day of its war in the besieged Gaza Strip, Israeli occupation forces ordered over 1.1 million Palestinians in the northern parts of the territory to evacuate their homes and move to the south in the next few hours on Friday, October 13. Israel claimed it may launch a ground offensive to clear Hamas operatives who are allegedly hiding in the territory, AP reported. The Israeli ultimatum includes the UN staff and all the shelters run by them for the Gazans who were displaced in Israeli bombings in the last seven days. The order has raised the fear of a looming ethnic cleansing of Gaza and expulsion of over a million Palestinians from their homes.

Israel Is Using Starvation As A Weapon Of War Against Palestinian People

After Hamas launched more than 2,000 missiles from Gaza and sent hundreds of fighters into Israel on October 7, killing hundreds of civilians, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared war on Hamas. But Israel’s retaliation, including massive bombing from the land, air and sea, and its collective punishment of Gazans — denying them food, water, electricity and gas — reveals that Netanyahu has actually declared war on the Palestinian people, especially those in Gaza. Israeli warplanes are conducting indiscriminate bombings throughout Gaza, targeting homes, schools, hospitals, mosques and civilian buildings.

Gaza: Power Plant Shut Down; Over 1,055 Reported Dead From Airstrikes

The Israeli occupation forces targeted over 150 locations across Gaza on Wednesday, October 11, the fifth day of their assault inside the besieged Palestinian territory. According to the latest numbers from local media and the Palestinian Ministry of Health, over 1,055 Palestinians have been killed so far including over 250 children. Over 5,000 have also been injured. Israel is also reportedly preparing for a ground offensive on Gaza and has amassed at least 100,000 soldiers and reserves on the border. Meanwhile, the humanitarian situation inside Gaza is deteriorating fast.
