“The UAV force of Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a military operation targeting a vital target in the [Tel Aviv] area in occupied Palestine with several Yaffa drones. The operation successfully achieved its objectives, as the drones reached their targets without the enemy being able to [shoot them down],” Saree said in a statement shared on social media. The Ansrallah official did not give any details about the target of the strike, which he described as being part of the “fifth phase” of Yemen's military operations in support of the Palestinian resistance in Gaza. Saree also called on “all Arab and Islamic peoples to [stand in support of] the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples” as the first anniversary of the 7 October Operation Al-Aqsa Flood approaches.

Iran, Hezbollah, and Yemen’s Ansarallah-aligned armed forces have vowed to make the occupation state pay a heavy price following the targeted killing of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and Hezbollah senior commander Fuad Shukr in southern Beirut. Additionally, Israel bombed the Hodeidah port in Yemen following Sanaa’s successful ‘Yafa’ drone operation in Tel Aviv on 19 July. An official from the Lebanese resistance has informed The Cradle that “The response will come at once from Iran, Hezbollah, and Yemen,” adding that the goal was to “inflict a painful blow to Israel which may not be achieved should separate retaliations be pursued.”

In his first speech after the Al-Aqsa Flood, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah stated that the support front from Lebanon operates according to two criteria: one related to the scale of the enemy’s attacks and the other concerning the support needed to prevent the breaking of the resistance in Gaza. The leader of Ansarallah, Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi, was quick to announce that Yemen’s involvement in the battle aims to stop the aggression and lift the siege on Gaza. Both parties, in all subsequent statements issued by their respective war media, emphasized key phrases: supporting Gaza, backing its resistance and striving to stop the aggression and lift the siege.

Israel Launches Airstrikes Against Hodeidah Port In Yemen

The Israeli Occupation Forces launched airstrikes on the Red Sea port of the Hodeidah Governorate, in Yemen on Saturday, July 20. The Israeli airstrikes targeted gas, oil and power facilities within the Ansar Allah-run sea port with F-35 fighter jets, according to media reports. The Yemeni Health Ministry announced that a number of people were martyred and wounded in the attack without providing further details. The Israeli airstrikes on Yemen came around one day after Ansar Allah-led Yemeni Armed Forces launched a drone attack against the Israeli city of Tel Aviv. This was part of the military operations which the Yemeni Support Front has initiated in response to Israel’s genocidal aggression on Gaza.

On July 12, the Associated Press (AP) published an astonishing report, on the return of US Navy fighter pilots to Virginia after nine months of failing to thwart the righteous anti-genocide blockade of Red Sea shipping by Yemen’s Ansar Allah. The article was at pains to portray the pilots’ arrival Stateside as a heroic homecoming for courageous American flying aces. In reality, the Empire’s terminal weaknesses, and drastically ever-reducing power, were amply exposed. AP described the pilots as “feeling relieved… after months of shooting down Houthi-launched missiles and drones off Yemen’s coast in the most intense running sea battle the Navy has faced since World War II.”

Despite the formation of a multinational naval coalition led by the United States, the Israeli-controlled Port of Eilat has reportedly gone bankrupt and is seeking a government bailout. The situation underscores the failure of U.S.-led efforts against Yemen’s Ansar Allah–known pejoratively as the Houthis–blockade in the Red Sea, enforced until Israel ends its war on Gaza. “It must be acknowledged that the port is in a state of bankruptcy,” said Gideon Golber, CEO of the Port of Eilat, who has been vocal about the port’s dire economic condition for months and is now appealing for financial support from the Israeli government.

An issue that I often try to avoid is domestic US partisan politics. It's very frustrating to talk about US politics because people tend to be very dogmatic and very partisan. They pick a party, the Republicans or the Democrats. They defend them no matter what. They treat the political party like a sports team or a superhero that can do no wrong. This is despite the fact that ironically the Republican and Democratic parties share a lot of their policies in common. The foreign policy that they carry out is 95% the same in this bipartisan orthodoxy. Their economic policy is the same. And yet people get angry if you criticize a Democrat, they think you are a Republican.

Many protesters stopped to take pictures of the posters, and The response from those on the march, who were calling on the British government to support an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza and an end to arms exports to Israel (Yes – Britain is STILL sending weapons to Israel) which was very enthusiastic and 100% positive. Many of the protesters are aware of the connections between these different wars, but have not seen them clearly stated before.

On October 19, 2023, Yemen’s Ansar Allah began launching missiles and armed drones at Israel, demanding an end to its war and blockade on the Gaza Strip. More significantly, they began seizing and launching aerial attacks against dozens of merchant and naval vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden that were carrying cargo to and from Israel. In Arabic, Ansar Allah means “Supporters of God.” It is a Shia Islamist political and military nationalist organization that emerged in Yemen in the 1990s. The group is commonly but disrespectfully referred to as “the Houthis,” a term which has a derogatory tribalist connotation.

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Friday that they struck the American aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower in the Red Sea, in response to the US-British aggression and airstrikes on Yemen which had resulted in the martyrdom and injury of 58 Yemeni citizens. Brigadier General Sare’e explained that the airstrikes were distributed as follows: four airstrikes on the capital Sana’a, resulting in one injury; two airstrikes on Sana’a province; and one airstrike on the Haifan area in Taiz province. He added that the aggression targeted Hodeidah province with six airstrikes, including one on Al-Salif port, one on the radio building, two on the Ghalifka camp, and two on the homes of Ali Mohsen and Ali Abdullah Saleh.
