Elon Musk

Trump And Musk’s Next Target: Social Security

The world’s richest man has shown his determination to use his unelected position within the Trump presidency to wage war on the working class in the United States. Elon Musk’s latest accusation of widespread fraud within the Social Security system in the US could represent yet another major offensive against workers, who nearly universally rely on the country’s largest social service for current and future retirement plans. Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an invention of the Trump administration that has pursued broad cuts to federal departments and regulations, has pursued access to sensitive information of millions of people in the US, held by the Social Security Administration.

The World’s Richest People Look Out For Each Other

The Washington Post won’t say why it cancelled a six-figure ad buy calling for Elon Musk to be fired, but it’s likely the same reason the Post insisted Musk wasn’t Nazi-saluting on Inauguration Day, and why the paper killed its endorsement of Kamala Harris: because that’s what Jeff Bezos wants. In addition to owning the Post, Bezos is the founder of Amazon and currently the world’s third-richest human. At best, the Post is a side-hustle for Bezos, while Amazon and his other business pursuits are what truly animate him. “With Jeff, it’s always only about business,” a former employee of Bezos’s space company, Blue Origin, told the Post.

Federal Workers Mobilize Against Musk’s And Trump’s ‘Corporate Coup’

Federal employee union members have been speaking out, rallying, and suing, as agency after agency has been hit by Elon Musk’s “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE)—a private unaccountable entity which has been demanding access to all government records while spreading wild lies about waste and fraud. Around 20,000 workers have been summarily fired so far. Federal workers raised the alarm at over 30 “Save our Services” rallies around the country Wednesday, including in New York, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Philadelphia, Denver, Boston, Boise, Chattanooga and Chicago.

Hundreds March On SpaceX Building In Washington, DC

Washington DC—A coalition of Federal workers, allies, and a network of unions gathered at the Ronald Reagan International Trade Center to denounce the Trump-Musk shutdowns and takeovers of Federal agencies, and firings of thousands of Federal workers. Several hundred then marched a few blocks away to the 1200 block of F Street where the Elon Musk SpaceX rocket headquarters is housed. They stopped at the front entrances shouting “Hey hey, ho ho, Elon Musk has got to go!” As they arrived at the doors their fury was evident.

Trump Vs. The Deep State

Wow. In a series of rapid-fire developments last week, the new Trump regime has decisively joined the battle with the deep state on the national security side. This is big, or could be. Either Donald Trump will begin to exert political control over the invisible government or the invisible government will sink Donald Trump just as it did during his first term as president. Let us be attentive. The attack on USAID, the telephone call with Vladimir Putin, the incipient alienation of the Kiev regime, new talk of talks with the Islamic Republic, Tulsi Gabbard’s confirmation as director of national intelligence: I don’t know if these events and their timing reflect a concerted plan, back-of-an-envelope inspirations, or the president’s thinking but not necessarily the thinking of those around him.

The US Can Learn From South Koreans Who Stopped An Authoritarian

As Elon Musk and his DOGE team set about dismantling government agencies, many Americans expected a strong response from Congressional Democrats. Instead, party leaders offered weak statements and little resistance to being refused entry to the very agencies they are tasked with overseeing. This lack of urgency amid what’s being called an administrative coup stoked a wave of angry calls to “do more.” In their outrage on social media, many pointed to decisive action taken by politicians in other countries facing crisis. For example, someone on BlueSky noted that “South Korean politicians were literally scaling fences to protect their government,” while “our senators are sending out pre-scheduled tweets about the Super Bowl.”

Thousands Rally On Presidents Day Against Trump Musk Takeover

Washington DC—Federal workers, their families, and supporters continued their grassroots demonstrations in opposition to increasing aggressive agency takeovers and takedowns by the Trump-Musk presidency. Thousands took part in the President’s Day protest at the US Capitol Reflecting Pool demanding Congress act now against what many say is an illegal and unconstitutional power grab by the executive branch of government. The group 50501 organized the Monday afternoon demonstration at which speakers warned in no uncertain terms that the multi-billionaire Elon Musk was on the verge of permanently disabling by dismantling the Federal government without any legal authority and with no transparent plan to replace it.

A New Plan To Create A World Without Elon Musks

Americans these days don’t much like billionaires. Our ultra-rich, Americans overwhelmingly believe, aren’t paying enough in taxes. Polling earlier this month found that nearly three-quarters of the nation’s likeliest voters — 74 percent — feel billionaires are paying “too little’ at tax time. Just how concerned about billion-dollar fortunes have Americans become? Nearly half of us overall, Harris polling found last summer, would like to see a limit on “wealth accumulation.” Among Gen Z’ers, that support for limits on billionaire fortunes runs all the way up to 65 percent.

Protesters Target Elon Musk Tesla Car Dealerships

Citizens angry with Elon Musk’s DOGE takeover of Federal government agencies rallied outside multiple mega-billionaire Tesla dealerships Saturday to tell him they aren’t putting up with his Federal government cuts and his explanation for the cost cutting “mandate“ policies. It was the first salvo in what may become a grassroots movement targeting the billionaire’s commercial interests and empire as the result of his bullying tactics of Federal government agencies, workers and operations. Protesters rallied outside Rockville MD Tesla, Georgetown Washington DC Tesla, and Arlington VA Tesla dealerships while drivers honked in support as they went by.

Federal Workers Organize Against Billionaire Power Grab

The second Trump administration has the federal workforce in its crosshairs. Spearheading the effort is Elon Musk (the richest man in the world) and his so-called Department of Government Efficiency (not actually a government department). Trump and Musk have taken a shotgun-blast approach: instituting a hiring freeze, shutting down whole agencies, telling workers to stop coming in, offering buyouts to 2 million workers, ordering remote workers back to the office in violation of union contracts, and mass-firing workers still in their probationary periods.

It’s Time For A United Front To Take On Billionaire Rule

President Donald Trump relishes deploying the “weave,” his vulgar stream-of-consciousness spiels in which his vengeful fantasies and antipathy towards a cast of enemies become punchlines in an insult-comic routine. His far-right former adviser Steve Bannon has termed the Trump administration’s psychological warfare approach “flooding the zone.” “Every day we hit them with three things,” Bannon told PBS’s Frontline in 2019. “They’ll bite on one, and we’ll get all of our stuff done. Bang, bang, bang. These guys will never — will never be able to recover. But we’ve got to start with muzzle velocity.”

DOGE Is Hiring; The Response Did Not Disappoint

This week, word got out that the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, was looking to hire “world-class talent to work long hours identifying/eliminating waste, fraud and abuse.” It turns out that people had a lot of ideas about who should apply for those jobs. Elon Musk and his team of 19-24 year old tech minions have been bulldozing through federal agencies, hacking into sensitive data, shutting down USAID, threatening federal workers with termination, and a host of other illegal and questionable activities. Protests against Musk and DOGE erupted in cities nationwide.

The Pentagon Is Recruiting Elon Musk To Help Win A Nuclear War

Donald Trump has announced his intention to build a gigantic anti-ballistic missile system to counter Chinese and Russian nuclear weapons, and he is recruiting Elon Musk to help him. The Pentagon has long dreamed of constructing an American “Iron Dome.” The technology is couched in the defense language – i.e., to make America safe again. But like its Israeli counterpart, it would function as an offensive weapon, giving the United States the ability to launch nuclear attacks anywhere in the world without having to worry about the consequences of a similar response.

Federal Workers Can Defeat Musk’s Coup

Who can stop Elon Musk? Even though it’s illegal for him to seize control of federal agency finances to slash the workforce, a Republican Congress is unlikely to assert its legally mandated prerogatives. Nor has any serious opposition emerged from the Democratic Party. And while the courts have paused some of this power grab, there’s no guarantee that our hyper-conservative Supreme Court will seriously oppose it. Moreover, Musk’s wrecking crew can impose a huge number of cuts while legal proceedings wind their way through the courts.

Musk’s Access To US Treasury Payments Risks Global Financial Meltdown

Whether or not you share the zeal for cuts in government spending embraced by President Donald Trump and his billionaire sidekick Elon Musk, you should know that giving Musk and his callow team of computer coders access to payment systems at the U. S. Department of Treasury risks a global financial meltdown. It doesn’t make such an event certain, but it lowers the odds considerably. Here’s why: First, the U.S. Department of Treasury processes some $6 trillion in payments each year. If that system were to come to a halt for even a relatively short period of time, the consequences would be devastating, not only for the U.S. economy but for the global economy as well.
