Pro-Palestinian Protesters Interrupt Microsoft’s 50th Anniversary Event

A pro-Palestinian protest by Microsoft employees has interrupted the company’s 50th anniversary celebration, the latest backlash over the tech industry’s work to supply artificial intelligence technology to the Israeli military. The protest began on Friday as Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman was presenting product updates and a long-term vision for the company’s AI assistant product, Copilot, to an audience that included Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and former CEO Steve Ballmer. “Mustafa, shame on you,” shouted Microsoft employee Ibtihal Aboussad as she walked towards the stage and Suleyman paused his speech.

Congress, Trump Administration Use Weapons And Threats To Continue Israel’s War

US senators voted 82-15 and 83-15 on 3 April to reject two resolutions of disapproval regarding Washington's massive arms transfers and other military assistance to Israel. The resolutions were offered by Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont and received the support of only 15 out of 45 Democrats in the Senate. “The United States must end our complicity in these atrocities, we cannot be part of this any longer,” Sanders said in a video he released on Wednesday. Sanders has presented four resolutions since January 2024 to end or freeze US arms transfers to Israel, with none of them passing a vote on the Senate floor.

Gaza Endures Intense Israeli Bombing As Ground Troops Return To Shujaiya

Israeli ground forces advanced into the eastern Shujaiya neighbourhood of Gaza City on Thursday amid heavy carpet bombing across the besieged enclave. The Israeli military said its troops began operations in Shujaiya in northern Gaza to "deepen control" and expand the so-called "security zone", according to a statement on X. It claimed to target "several militants" and "Hamas infrastructure", saying that troops were facilitating civilian evacuations from the conflict zone. Despite these claims, local media reports indicate that the majority of victims have been children, women and the elderly.

Palestine Missing From ‘Hands Off!’ March

On April 5, protesters will converge on Washington to hold a massive march in support of Palestine. The President has changed since the last big event in DC, but many of the demands have not. Activists are calling on the United States government to stop bankrolling the genocide in Gaza and sever ties from apartheid Israel. The additional element this time around is the Trump administration’s vast deportation program, which has targeted multiple university students for participating in protests. “This movement is made of students, workers, teachers, artists, activists, healthcare workers, tech workers and people of conscience all over the world who will not back down in the face of repression and intimidation, and will never back down so long as Gaza is under attack,” reads a statement on the march’s website.

Yemen Is Acting Responsibly To Stop Genocide; The US Is Bombing Them For It

The U.S. is bombing Yemen because Yemen is acting, as required by international law, to stop the genocide and unlawful siege in Palestine. This is not an editorial opinion. It is a statement of both law and fact. Neither of these facts has been featured in the reporting or commentary of Western media corporations, let alone in the statements of perpetrator governments like the U.S. Because to perpetrate a genocide in plain sight requires the suppression of the truth and the obscuring of the law. But international law is clear.

Trump Oversees ‘Record Breaking’ Militarization Of West Asia

The US military has carried out its largest offensive deployment to West Asia since the start of Israel's war on Gaza and Lebanon in October 2023, coinciding with threats by President Donald Trump to start a major bombing campaign against Iran, Haaretz reported on 2 April. According to an analysis of open-source aviation data by the Israeli newspaper, the US military has sent additional squadrons of fighter jets, stealth bombers, and quantities of weaponry in recent weeks. The new build-up amounts to a roughly 50 percent increase over the previous monthly peak in US military flights to the region.

We Have To Mobilize In Even Greater Numbers Than Ever Before

As the Trump administration escalates attacks on the pro-Palestine student movement and Israel continues the genocide in Gaza in full force, thousands are expected to partake in a mass demonstration for Palestine on April 5 in Washington DC, undeterred by repression. Trump’s Secretary of State Marco Rubio has announced that he has signed off on the revocation of over 300 student visas for reasons related to pro-Palestine protest activity, raising alarms about free speech violations. We do it every day. Every time I find one of these lunatics, I take away their visa,” Rubio said at a press conference in Guyana on Thursday.

A People’s History Of Palestine

My journey into the realm of people’s history began during my teenage years when I first read Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States. This initial exposure sparked my curiosity about how history is constructed and it led me to delve deeper into historiography — particularly the evolution of people’s history as an intellectual movement. Over the years, a wide range of historians, from Michel Foucault and Marc Bloch to Lucien Febvre and Chris Harman, each offered unique perspectives on the study of ordinary people in history.

Immigrant Rights Activists Fight Attacks On The Palestine Movement

While political prisoner and Palestine activist Mahmoud Khalil remains in ICE detention in Louisiana, his lawyers are fighting for his freedom in New Jersey. On Friday, March 28 they were in Newark to argue for Khalil’s upcoming immigration hearing to take place in New Jersey, rather than Louisiana where a judge is more likely to go along with the Trump administration’s political persecution of Khalil. While Khalil’s legal team advocated for him in the district courthouse, hundreds of supporters rallied outside chanting, “We want justice, you say how? Release Mahmoud right now!” and “Up up with liberation, down down with occupation!”

Germany Issues Deportation Orders Against US, EU Citizens Over Pro-Palestine Activism

German authorities are seeking to deport four foreign nationals, including three EU citizens, over their alleged involvement in pro-Palestinian protests in Berlin, a move that has sparked significant legal and civil rights concerns, 972 Magazine and The Intercept reported on 1 April. The individuals – Cooper Longbottom (US), Kasia Wlaszczyk (Poland), Shane O’Brien, and Roberta Murray (both Ireland) – have not been convicted of any crimes. However, they face expulsion orders under German migration law, citing vague accusations linked to demonstrations against Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

Inside The Resurgence Of Jewish-Led Palestine Solidarity

Over the last year and a half, the movement for Palestinian liberation has become one of the largest American social movements of the decade. Not only that, there has also been an incredible resurgence of the Jewish left, as Jewish Palestine solidarity organizations, such as IfNotNow and Jewish Voice for Peace, organize a growing contingent of young Jews for an end to the genocide in Gaza. As Israel violates its ceasefire agreement and commences an aggressive bargaining campaign, one that killed 400 people in the first night, this movement is only going to grow as the world collectively reckons with the destruction that has been caused.

Momodou Taal, Who Sued Trump, Voluntarily Leaves The Country

Momodou Taal, a pro-Palestinian activist and international Ph.D student, announced his decision to leave the country on Monday — ending a weeks-long struggle with the federal government that began when he sued the Trump administration. Soon after Taal announced his decision on X and Instagram, his lawyers withdrew his lawsuit in federal court. Taal first made national news when he, alongside Sriram Parasurama, a Ph.D. student in plant sciences, and Prof. Mũkoma wa Ngũgĩ, literatures in English, sued the Trump administration for allegedly violating their First and Fifth Amendment rights.

The New Face Of Christian Zionism

On October 12, 2024, tens of thousands of people thronged outside the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C., for what organizers called the “A Million Women” rally. The event was staged by a clutch of leaders of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR), a dynamic and fast-growing Christian Right movement that has influenced hundreds of millions of people around the world, including tens of millions in the United States. Timed to coincide with the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, the themes of the gathering included winning Christian “dominion” over political institutions, mobilizing voters and — in keeping with the movement’s focus on the idea of spiritual warfare — exorcizing demons from the Capitol.

Hamas Accepts Egyptian Ceasefire Proposal, Israel Seeks Concessions

A senior Hamas official said late on 29 March that the resistance movement has accepted a new Egyptian proposal to resume the truce in the Gaza Strip, coming as Israel has rejected Cairo’s plan and put forward its own counteroffer. “Hamas recently received a new proposal from the Qatari and Egyptian mediators and responded positively. The movement emphasized it is not seeking new demands, only the implementation of what was already signed and guaranteed,” said the head of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Khalil al-Hayya, during a speech on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

Jacksonville SDS Rallies Against Israeli Soldiers On Campus

Jacksonville, FL – On March 27, Jacksonville Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) rallied dozens of students to protest a speaking event which brought two Israeli occupation forces (IOF) troops to the University of North Florida. The soldiers were on campus to justify their war crimes in Gaza during the first wave of the accelerated genocide. The Jacksonville Palestine Solidarity Network (JPSN) co-sponsored the protest, and several other student and community organizations were in attendance. The rally took place outside the UNF Student Union, where the speaking event was being held.
