European leaders are in panic mode. They are scrambling to ensure that Trump’s 28-point peace plan that they believe favours Russia can be revised to give Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky an equal say alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This is delusional thinking. Whether or not Zelensky and his U.S./NATO allies, who have poured hundreds of billions of dollars into this conflict care to accept it, Russia is the indisputable victor in this terrible 14-year war, beginning with the 2014 Ukrainian civil war, which Russia entered in 2022.
Moscow will call the shots when it finally ends. As in Potsdam at the end of WWII, the only path forward now is working out the terms of defeat.

Argentinian President Javier Milei formally launched the Isaac Accords on 29 November, a new initiative aimed at strengthening political, economic, and cultural cooperation between Israel and Latin America.
Milei announced the initiative following a meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, who visited Buenos Aires on Saturday as part of a regional diplomatic tour.
The Isaac Accords are being promoted in partnership with Washington and are modeled after the Abraham Accords, which normalized relations between Israel and several Arab countries, including the UAE, Bahrain, and Morocco.

Black student unions have been a vital part of many Black college students’ lives for more than 60 years. But since 2024, Black student unions have lost their institutional support, campus space and funding with the rise of anti-diversity, equity and inclusion laws in Utah and Alabama.
Black student unions now face a new wave of pressure, as more than 400 colleges and universities under the Trump administration have rebranded or eliminated programs and centers that promote diversity, equity and inclusion.
Amy Lieberman, education editor at The Conversation U.S., spoke with Antar A. Tichavakunda, a scholar of race and higher education, to better understand what Black student unions are and how they influence Black students’ experiences in higher education.

Donald Trump made some revealing remarks to the media as he flew to Florida for Thanksgiving on Wednesday. Asked if he thought Ukraine is being asked to give too much land to Russia in his proposal to end the war, Trump responded:
“It’s clearly up to the Russians. It’s moving in one direction. … That’s land that over the next couple of months might be gotten by Russia anyway. So, do you want to fight and loose another 50,000 or 60,000 people? Or do something now? They are negotiating; they are trying to get it done.”
That’s the same realistic approach Trump’s new special envoy to Ukraine, U.S. Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll, took with the Ukrainians and Europe’s so-called “coalition of the willing” during a visit to Kiev earlier this week.

The White House is having difficulty launching its so-called Gaza International Stabilization Force (ISF), as countries that previously expressed willingness to deploy troops to the project now seek to distance themselves from it, according to a 29 November report in the Washington Post.
The ISF “is struggling to get off the ground as countries considered likely to contribute soldiers have grown wary” over concerns their soldiers may be required to use force against Palestinians.
Indonesia had stated it would send 20,000 peacekeeping troops. However, officials in Jakarta speaking with the US news outlet said they now plan to provide a much smaller contingent of about 1,200.

A group of six United States senators and members of congress recently released a 90-second video in which they assert that members of the military can and in fact should refuse to carry out orders that are illegal. Article 92 in the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) states that lawful orders must be obeyed and unlawful orders should not be carried out. While the assertion should not be controversial, the question of what is lawful or unlawful is not always clear. Military service personnel are at great personal risk should they attempt to make the distinction themselves.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on 27 November that the Kremlin generally agrees that the 28-point US peace plan for Ukraine could form a basis for an agreement, while at the same time calling Ukraine's leadership illegitimate.
“In general, we agree that this could be the basis for future agreements,” he said while speaking to reporters at the conclusion of a visit to Kyrgyzstan.
“It would be impolite of me to talk about any final options now, as there aren't any. But some things are fundamental,” Putin said.
Study: Gender-Affirming Care Lowers Suicide Risk For Trans Kids
A newly published study reveals that a certain kind of gender-affirming care for transgender kids and young adults likely lowers rates of suicidality among those populations.
The study, published in the Journal of Pediatrics, examined 432 patients between the ages of 12 and 20 years old who received treatment at an unnamed Midwestern academic medical center. Patients who were set to receive gender-affirming care filled out Ask Suicide-Screening Questions (ASQ) surveys prior to receiving hormone therapy (HT) treatment, then repeated the questionnaire at future visits.

“Nicaragua Steals the Spotlight in Global Tourism Fairs,” read a headline in Travel and Tour World on 15 November, highlighting Nicaragua’s performance at recent industry events in the United Kingdom, China, Germany, and Canada.
“Nicaragua is rapidly becoming one of the most talked-about destinations for international tourists,” the article gushed.
Two days later on 17 November, the United States Embassy in Nicaragua announced new visa restrictions on representatives of Nicaraguan transportation companies, travel agencies, and tour operators. In a statement, the embassy claimed those affected had been “identified as knowingly facilitating illegal immigration to the United States.”

Traditional American Thanksgiving acknowledges a feast shared between Pilgrims and Indigenous Native people. We know our people assisted with the early immigration process of those people arriving from Europe because they were pitiful, hungry and starving. We were kind and loving people who helped them. However, once they got a foothold, they tried to completely extinguish us, stole our lands and now we are supposed to be thankful. This runs similar to the “Redskin” mascot Issue or the “Columbus Day” celebration of genocide.

During closing campaign events this weekend, Moncada—the official LIBRE presidential candidate—accused the Preliminary Electoral Results Transmission System (TREP) of being “hacked” by the country’s two-party establishment in an effort to “steal the elections” scheduled for Nov. 30.
According to Moncada, a plan is underway to insert pre-fabricated voting records into the TREP system to manipulate preliminary results. In response, she urged party members to remain mobilized and actively defend the vote.
She called on poll workers to photograph each tally sheet submitted to TREP and retain a physical copy of the official closing tally sheet as irrefutable proof.

The International People’s Tribunal on Palestine convened on November 22 and 23 in Barcelona. The event brought together organizers, human rights advocates, and legal experts and offered a platform for survivors of the ongoing assault on Gaza to present evidence of Israel’s international crimes. After two days of testimony, jurors returned their verdict: Israel, the United States, and other Western powers are guilty of the crimes of genocide, ecocide, and the forced starvation of the Palestinian people.
“The mass killings, deliberate starvation, systematic destruction of civilian infrastructure, environmental devastation, and the targeting of hospitals, shelters, schools, and places of refuge were carried out as a matter of state policy, and with full knowledge of their fatal consequences,” said head juror Ceren Uysal, reading from the verdict as the tribunal closed.

Over the past two years, the Israeli Knesset has passed dozens of new laws, the cumulative effect of which is to further entrench and deepen Israel’s regime of apartheid and repression over all Palestinians under its control – both in Israel and in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT). Adalah’s new report, "Post-7 October: A New Wave of Anti-Palestinian Israeli Laws", reviews key legislation passed between 7 October 2023 and 27 July 2025. The laws span multiple themes, including freedom of expression, protest, and thought; the right to citizenship and family life; equality and social rights; and the rights of detainees and prisoners.
25 Highly Respected Organizations Say Israel’s Committing Genocide
We all have someone in our life who still refuses to believe Israel is committing genocide. They might say “I don’t like what’s going on there.” Or “I don’t agree with Netanyahu.” Or “war is always ugly”. But they refuse to use the word “genocide.” It might be your mom or your dad or your aunt or your dental hygienist. It might be all of them. That’s why I wanted to write this article for anyone to share.
The 25 organizations on the following list are not radical or “fringe,” whatever that means. They are all highly regarded.
US Teen Mohammed Ibrahim Released From Israeli Prison
Israeli authorities have freed Palestinian American teenager Mohammed Ibrahim after more than nine months of detention, in a case that advocates say embodies Israeli abuses against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.
Mohammed’s release on Thursday came after a months-long pressure campaign from United States lawmakers and civil rights groups.
The teenager from Florida was 15 years old in February when he was arrested and taken from his family home in the town of al-Mazraa ash-Sharqiya, near Ramallah.
He turned 16 while being held in Israeli jail, where he drastically lost weight and contracted a skin infection.
