Axis of Resistance

Axis Of Resistance Expands Solidarity With Palestine

In his first speech after the Al-Aqsa Flood, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah stated that the support front from Lebanon operates according to two criteria: one related to the scale of the enemy’s attacks and the other concerning the support needed to prevent the breaking of the resistance in Gaza. The leader of Ansarallah, Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi, was quick to announce that Yemen’s involvement in the battle aims to stop the aggression and lift the siege on Gaza. Both parties, in all subsequent statements issued by their respective war media, emphasized key phrases: supporting Gaza, backing its resistance and striving to stop the aggression and lift the siege.

Israel Launches Airstrikes Against Hodeidah Port In Yemen

The Israeli Occupation Forces launched airstrikes on the Red Sea port of the Hodeidah Governorate, in Yemen on Saturday, July 20. The Israeli airstrikes targeted gas, oil and power facilities within the Ansar Allah-run sea port with F-35 fighter jets, according to media reports. The Yemeni Health Ministry announced that a number of people were martyred and wounded in the attack without providing further details. The Israeli airstrikes on Yemen came around one day after Ansar Allah-led Yemeni Armed Forces launched a drone attack against the Israeli city of Tel Aviv. This was part of the military operations which the Yemeni Support Front has initiated in response to Israel’s genocidal aggression on Gaza.

Collapsing Empire: Yemen Defeats US Navy

On July 12, the Associated Press (AP) published an astonishing report, on the return of US Navy fighter pilots to Virginia after nine months of failing to thwart the righteous anti-genocide blockade of Red Sea shipping by Yemen’s Ansar Allah. The article was at pains to portray the pilots’ arrival Stateside as a heroic homecoming for courageous American flying aces. In reality, the Empire’s terminal weaknesses, and drastically ever-reducing power, were amply exposed. AP described the pilots as “feeling relieved… after months of shooting down Houthi-launched missiles and drones off Yemen’s coast in the most intense running sea battle the Navy has faced since World War II.”

US Seeks To Recover Regional Control With NATO Office In Jordan

During the 2024 Summit of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Washington DC, the alliance announced the establishment of a liaison office in Jordan’s capital Amman. NATO, considered by many to be a tool to assert and consolidate US military dominance across the world, stated that the Amman office will be its first-ever liaison office in the so-called “Middle East and North Africa” region. The announcement comes as Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza, backed and enabled by the US and NATO allies, completes nine months. Peoples Dispatch interviewed Deputy General Secretary of the Jordanian Democratic Popular Unity Party (known in Jordan as Wihdah Party), Dr. Issam Khawaja, to discuss more about what is behind the establishment of this office.

Resistance Rockets, Drones And Tunnels Vs Billion-Dollar Weapons

Using creative tactics, the Resistance to U.S.-Israeli terror is causing frustration and reversals for the oppressors. Consider the following: CNN reported June 22 that the U.S. will support Israel in the event of a war with Hezbollah with everything it has. U.S. officials publicly reassured top Israeli officials at a series of meetings in Washington, D.C., on June 20 that if a full-out war were to break out between Israel and Hezbollah, the Biden administration is fully prepared to back its ally.  The U.S. officials gave the assurances in person to a delegation of Israeli security officials, including National Security Adviser Tzachi Hanegbi and Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer. The face-to-face assurances come amid active Israeli mobilization on the Lebanese border.

America’s Decline In The Middle East And The Axis Of Resistance

The Middle East – or what should more accurately be called West Asia – is a pivotal region of the globe. It is home to the primary source of the planet’s most important commodity: oil. Not coincidentally, it is also the epicenter of global conflicts. Since 9/11, the United States has launched a series of attacks on sovereign nations, from Afghanistan and Iraq to Libya, Syria and beyond. These wars have left the region beleaguered and broken. But recently, as American power wanes, a new set of forces has emerged. An axis led by Iran, Syria and Yemen has emerged to counter U.S.-Israeli dominance and global giants, such as China and Russia, are increasingly being drawn into the region.

World Mourns ‘Tragic Loss’ Of Iranian President Raisi

Leaders and officials from several countries began to offer their condolences to Iran on 20 May following the announcement of the deaths of President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other officials in a helicopter crash northwest of the country. “In Russia, the President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian were known as true, reliable friends of our country,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday morning. “Their role in strengthening mutually beneficial Russian-Iranian cooperation and trusting partnership is invaluable,” Lavrov added, extending “condolences to the families and friends of the victims, as well as to the entire friendly people of Iran.”

For First Time Bahraini Resistance Launches Attack On Israel

For the first time since the start of the war, the Islamic Resistance in Bahrain has declared its responsibility for an attack on an Israeli target in the Eilat region, in southern Israel. This is the first time that a Bahraini-based group takes action as part of growing regional solidarity with Gaza.  The Ashtar Brigades said that they have hit the Israeli target using drones, and that their action was done in solidarity with “the patient people in resisting Gaza”. The Bahraini Brigades said in a statement on Thursday that its target was  the headquarters of the “company responsible for ground transportation in the Zionist entity (Trucknet)”.

The Axis Of Resistance Exposing The Functionaries Of Imperialism

Before the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on October 7th, developments in southwestern Asia were progressing in a reactionary fashion, with a number of Arab states normalizing relations with the zionist entity, including Saudi Arabia, whose actions were more furtive. For example, in July 2022, Saudi Arabia began allowing the zionist entity’s airplanes to use Saudi airspace, something the Biden White House called  a “historic decision.” Yet, the resistance in Gaza has unleashed a progression of history that has unexpectedly shifted the fragile dynamics of a region entangled in Western imperialism.

Israel Airstrike ‘Flattens’ Iranian Consulate In Damascus

Israeli airstrikes destroyed the Iranian consulate in Damascus on 1 April, killing and injuring several Iranian diplomats in what is viewed as a significant escalation of the regional war between Israel and the Axis of Resistance. "Around 17:00 this afternoon, the 'Israeli' enemy launched an aerial aggression from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting the Iranian consulate building in Damascus. Our air defenses confronted the enemy's missiles, downing some of them," the Syrian Ministry of Defense announced Monday.

Behind The Scenes: Ansar Allah’s Operations Aboard Galaxy Leader Ship

It was a daring raid that galvanized the world. These pivotal moments unfolded when Yemen’s Ansarrallah, recognized in the West as the Houthis, intercepted the Galaxy Leader, an Israeli-owned cargo vessel sailing through the Red Sea. Donning traditional Yemeni attire and armed with their characteristic daggers, Ansarrallah boldly confronted Israel while neighboring Arab nations of Palestine offered only hollow words of solidarity. Since November, Yemen, the poorest country in the Middle East, has enforced a blockade on vessels either wholly or partially owned by Israel.

The Revenge To Come

The scenes of Gaza’s genocide will shape generations to come, and Joe Biden has ensured that current and future generations will blame the U.S. for this war as much as they will blame Israel. The U.S. government openly admits helping the Israeli government in executing its genocidal war. The U.S. will continue in its unconditional support for Israeli genocide, and the Biden administration has been a full partner while frequently feigning concern for the “humanitarian situation” in Gaza, as if Palestinians are dying from a devastating plague.

The Axis Of Resistance: Like Seeds In The Soil

While many articles written on Al Mayadeen and other platforms have exposed and highlighted the brutality of the Zionist occupiers and their American masters, I want to take this opportunity to expose the humanity and fraternal conduct of members of the Axis of Resistance throughout the history of this network of organizations seeking to liberate West Asia. It came to me to write this as I read Aurelie Daher’s masterful history book: Hezbollah: Mobilisation and Power. In this book, Daher shows that the first steps of resistance in Lebanon were not conducting military operations against the Zionists, but building bonds with the masses.

Demystifying Iran And The ‘Resistance Axis’

Israel’s genocide in Gaza has unleashed a low-grade regional war that is gradually escalating towards what could become an all-out conflict. The central players in this simmering showdown are the members of the informal Resistance Axis, which include Hezbollah in Lebanon, a number of armed Palestinian groups including Hamas, the Syrian and Iranian governments, the Houthis or Ansarallah in Yemen, and Iraq’s armed Popular Mobilization Forces. Numerous strikes against Israeli and US military and commercial targets have already been carried out by these groups across the region, from US military bases in Iraq to Israel-linked commercial shipping in the Red Sea.

Southern Lebanon Stands With Resistance Despite Israeli Terrorism

The principles of the people of southern Lebanon remain unchanged since the 90s when it comes to the Resistance, as they stand in the face of Israeli terrorism and declare their unwavering support for the Resistance. Numerous villages in southern Lebanon mourned in early February more than a dozen civilian martyrs who were killed by the Israeli occupation. There was also a large number of casualties, including 14 people who were injured in two Israeli airstrikes that targeted the Ghazieh area (south of Sidon). Three days earlier, the towns of Nabatiyeh and al-Sawaneh buried 10 martyrs in a magnificent procession.
