UNRWA ‘Preparing To Close Its Doors’ In Gaza, West Bank

UN officials who spoke with the New York Times (NYT) say that the leading agency providing humanitarian aid for Palestinians is “preparing” to end its operations in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. “It would be a massive impact on an already catastrophic situation. If that is what the Israeli intention is – to remove any ability for us to save lives – you have to question what is the thinking and what is the end goal?” UN resident and humanitarian coordinator Jamie McGoldrick told the NYT on 2 January. UNRWA is a critical provider of staple necessities and essential services, relied on by thousands of Palestinians for their livelihood and basic needs.

BBC Staffers Reveal Editor’s ‘Entire Job’ To Whitewash Israeli War Crimes

BBC editor Raffi Berg has almost complete control of the British broadcaster's online coverage of Israel's war on Gaza and is ensuring that all events are reported with a pro-Israel bias, according to a new report published on 28 December by Drop Site News. "This guy's entire job is to water down everything that's too critical of Israel," one former BBC journalist said. Drop Site News spoke to 13 current and former staffers who stated that the BBC's coverage consistently devalues Palestinian life, ignores Israeli atrocities, and creates a false equivalence in an entirely unbalanced conflict.

Israel Threatens All-Out War On Yemen

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) intensified aerial attacks on Yemen in the last several days, as Ansar Allah-led Yemeni Armed Forces continued operations against Israel in retaliation for the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza, and against Israel’s allies who attempt to bypass the blockade imposed by Ansar Allah of Israel. On Thursday, December 26, Israeli warplanes targeted civilian facilities of Yemen’s Sanaa International Airport, including the airports’ main runway, control tower, and an aircraft, according to the Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post.

US-Funded Group Removes Report Warning Of Famine In North Gaza

The Famine Early Warning Systems Network, a project funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), has removed a report from its website that warned it was “highly likely” famine is occurring in northern Gaza after a complaint by the US ambassador to Israel. The report noted that Israel has imposed a “near-total blockade of humanitarian and commercial food supplies” on the North Gaza Governorate, which includes the cities of Beit Lahia, Beit Hanoun, and Jabalia. The report said 65,000 to 75,000 civilians remained in the area, “including civilians who have been unable to or prevented from evacuating.”

Resist, My People, Resist

Pain shudders through the arteries of global society. Day after day passes by as the genocide against the Palestinian people continues and the conflicts in the Great Lakes region of Africa and Sudan escalate. More and more people slip into absolute poverty as arms companies’ profits soar. These realities have hardened society, allowing people to bury their heads and ignore the horrors unfolding across the world. Ferocious disregard for the pain of others has become a way to protect oneself from the inflation of suffering. What can one do with the wretchedness that has come to define life across the planet?

Israel Kills Five Journalists, Five Hospital Staff In 24 Hours In Gaza

In the early hours of the night on Thursday December 25, the Israeli army targeted a press van in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza that was carrying a crew from Al-Quds TV, killing the five journalists inside. The targeted killing of the journalists has raised the total number of journalists killed by Israeli forces since the outbreak of the war on Gaza to 201. The journalists had completed their evening assignments and were using the broadcast van as a makeshift sleeping area. Notably, the vehicle was not located in a combat zone but rather near a hospital.

The Defiant Last Stand Of The Doctors Of Kamal Adwan Hospital

Patients are trying to sleep inside the Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip. But just outside, they can see a remote-controlled robot carrying explosives sent by the Israeli army. It’s only a matter of time before the bomb is detonated. Tanks and bulldozers move around the hospital and in front of its entrances all day long. The sounds of explosions and bullets do not stop. Inside the hospital, there is a constant state of panic. With each new explosion or round of fire, patients flee from one wing of the hospital to another, crowding in the narrow hospital corridors to sleep like sardines, hoping that they will be safe.

Bringing Gaza Home

In Ft. Wayne, Indiana, this September, I was arrested with a long-time activist friend, Cliff Kindy, for blocking the entrance to a Raytheon Corp. facility. We both requested jury trials and the dates were set for mid-December and early January. Prosecutors dropped the charges in each case and the trials did not happen. For my defense, I planned to bring Gaza home to jurors from Allen County, home to Ft. Wayne, with wire service photos and by extrapolating the effects of the U.S.-Israeli genocide in Palestine to their own county.

Deception And Politics From Washington To Tel Aviv

In these difficult times, the voice of the late Palestinian-American scholar, Edward Said is ever present, “Writing is the final resistance we have against the inhuman practices and injustices that disfigure human history.” For more than fourteen painful months Israel has passed off its inhuman actions against the people of Gaza as “defensive.” We are to believe that the massacre of tens of thousands of civilians and attacks on its Arab neighbors are somehow Israel’s “right.” Championed by the Biden administration, Tel Aviv has grown ever more bold and barbaric in its efforts to crush the resistance and expand its “undeclared” borders; simply, because it can.

Palestinian Americans File Lawsuit Against United States

A group of Palestinian Americans is suing the U.S. government for failing to evacuate American citizens and legal residents stranded in Gaza amid Israel’s genocide, saying that the U.S. is violating constitutional protections afforded to all Americans by discriminating against Palestinians and leaving them stranded. The group of nine Palestinian Americans, either themselves stuck in Gaza or whose family are stranded there, accuse the government of violating the Fifth Amendment, promising equal protection, “by depriving Plaintiffs of the normal and typical evacuation efforts the federal government extends to Americans who are not Palestinians,” the lawsuit says.

Are The Gaza Ceasefire Rumors Finally Real This Time?

Talks for an end to the genocide in Gaza, which Western and Israeli media refer to as a “hostage deal,” have heated up to an unprecedented degree in recent days. The question is, how genuine an opportunity is this? Over the course of 2024, we have repeatedly heard breathless hints of a deal being almost done, only to have the talks collapse as new demands come in from Israel. The United States government and media then go into overdrive to spin a narrative that Hamas was really the party that scuppered the deal. It has been a clear pattern.

A Call To Protect Gaza’s Healthcare System

The Palestine Mental Health Networks and Doctors Against Genocide stand with Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, in pleading with the international community: Do not remain silent as Gaza’s healthcare system is systematically destroyed. The relentless assaults on Kamal Adwan Hospital—a sanctuary meant to save lives in northern Gaza—are part of a deliberate genocidal campaign. These attacks on hospitals and clinics, places meant for healing and shelter, are not accidents of war; they are the cold calculations of those who would see an entire people erased.

Israel’s Genocide Day 440: New Reports Of Mass Killings In Gaza

On Wednesday, the Israeli daily newspaper Haaretz published an investigative report based on testimonies of Israeli army members under the condition of anonymity, describing various acts of intentional killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza. According to the testimonies gathered by Haaretz, soldiers, and officers of the Israeli army’s 252nd brigade described a line north of the Netzarim corridor, the depopulated military area created by Israel cutting the Gaza strip in half south of Gaza City. According to testimonies, this line is known as “the dead bodies line”, which Gaza people “know very well.”

Inside ‘Greater Israel’: Myths And Truths Behind The Zionist Fantasy

As Israel pushed its forces deep into sovereign Syrian territory following the fall of Bashar Al-Assad’s regime the term ‘Greater Israel’ has resurfaced in media coverage. The term has been used in recent days to describe Israel’s military expansion beyond its currently recognized borders, an ever-expanding definition of what the Israeli state can come to encompass. The maps used to describe the vision often echo biblical stories that many Zionists consider as history. But what is the ‘Greater Israel’ idea in actuality? Is there really such an Israeli project? And how realistic is it that it will be realized?

Palestinians Sue State Department Over Failure To Stop Genocide

Five Palestinian families filed a lawsuit against the US State Department on 17 December over Washington’s support for the Israeli military, citing the Leahy Law, which prohibits assistance to foreign military or security forces implicated in human rights violations. The suit was filed in the US District Court for the District of Columbia. It accuses the State Department and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken of deliberately circumventing human rights to allow continued support for Israeli military units accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
