Costs Of Occupation And Blockade: Destruction Of The Gaza Ghetto

I deplore the killings done by Hamas on October 7 in which 1100 Israelis and 328 from other nations died.  And I deplore the massive retaliation and revenge that the State of Israel is wrecking as collective punishment on the civilians in Gaza in the name of destroying Hamas. Over 8,000 Palestinians, including over 3000 children, have now been killed in the three weeks of massive air and artillery attacks on Gaza and over 20,000 have been injured with hundreds, if not thousands, missing under rubble. As documented in Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center located in Jerusalem, in November 1940, 380,000 Jews were sealed inside the Warsaw ghetto.

‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 21: Gaza Health Ministry Lists Martyrs’ Names

The Ministry of Health in Gaza released on Thursday evening a list of 6,747 Palestinians confirmed killed since Israel began carpet bombing the blockaded enclave on October 7. The list, which includes names, ages, gender, and ID numbers for each casualty identified as of the afternoon of October 26, does not include people still trapped under rubble, those who were buried directly without being brought to hospitals, and those whose details had yet to be confirmed and processed by health officials – meaning that hundreds have yet to be officially identified, according to the ministry’s own estimates.

United Nations General Assembly Votes For Gaza Ceasefire

The [Jordanian]resolution calls for an “immediate, durable and sustained humanitarian truce”, and demands all parties comply with international humanitarian law and “continuous, sufficient and unhindered” provision of essential supplies and services into the Gaza Strip. It also calls for the “immediate and unconditional release” of all civilians held captive as well as demanding their safety, well-being and humane treatment in compliance with international law.  The resolution does not mention Hamas or the events of Oct.  Gilad Erdan, Ambassador of Israel to the U.N., said in response to the resolution passing that “today is a day that will go down in infamy”.

‘Operation Al Aqsa Flood’ Day 20: Israel Using Starvation As A Weapon

Gaza’s population of over 2 million, which continues to be carpet bombed, is still being denied fuel, clean water, and adequate food supply by Israel’s ongoing siege on the enclave. The situation is “horrific” as millions are being “collectively punished in full view of the world,” says Oxfam, a British charity focused on alleviating global poverty.  “It’s estimated that only three liters of clean water are now available per person. The UN said a minimum of 15 liters a day is essential for people in the most acute humanitarian emergencies as a bare minimum,” they stated.

Here Are Some War Crimes Committed By Israel In Gaza

Amidst extensive media coverage of the atrocities in Gaza, an unsettling pattern emerges. Media reports often document Israel’s airstrikes on civilian areas, hospitals, schools, and UN shelters. Yet, they consistently accompany these accounts with a disclaimer, attributing these actions to a response to the Hamas attacks of October 7. This narrative not only justifies Israel’s collective punishment of Gaza but also depicts Palestinians as mere collateral damage, implying their lives hold little worth. This soft propaganda, being pushed upon billions of people by the media, effectively whitewashed Israel’s crimes instead of holding it accountable for its wanton breaches of international law.

US Will Not Be ‘Spared The Fire’ If Gaza Genocide Continues

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has arrived in New York to attend an emergency session of the UN General Assembly on 26 October, as diplomatic activity surrounding Israel’s bombing campaign in Gaza and the horrific death toll among Palestinians intensifies.  Thursday’s session is devoted to the topic of “illegal Israeli actions in occupied East Jerusalem and the rest of the Occupied Palestinian Territory,” and comes ahead of a planned General Assembly vote Friday on a resolution calling for a ceasefire in the now 19-day war between the Hamas-led Palestinian resistance and Israel.

Healthcare Workers Are Standing With Palestine

With over 7,000 Palestinians killed and over 14,000 injured, the humanitarian crisis continues to unfold in Gaza. Some parents have resorted to writing the names of their children on their children’s bodies in fear they will otherwise be unidentifiable if they are killed in a bombing attack. The Healthcare Ministry of Gaza has declared that the healthcare system in the region has completely collapsed and that all hospitals in Gaza will run out of fuel and necessary medical supplies. An AP news report describes the scenes inside of hospitals a “nightmare.” Hospitals report running out of basic items like pain medications, antibiotics, bandages, and antiseptics.

Indigenous Solidarity With Palestine

The past two weeks of horrific violence in Gaza resulted from 75 years of Israeli settler colonial dispossession, 56 years of military occupation, and 16 years of an open-air prison for 2.2 million people, half of whom are children. The atrocities of the Israeli apartheid regime in Palestine are relentless, illegal under international law, and consistent with settler-colonial projects globally. It has been heartbreaking and unsurprising to see the colonial powers in Canada, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe line up behind this genocide. Israeli settler colonialism, apartheid, and occupation are only possible because of international support.

Paris: Thousands March Demanding Immediate Ceasefire In Gaza

On October 22, a massive rally of around 30,000 people in solidarity with Palestine was held in the French capital, Paris. The mobilization was organized by a coalition of progressive activists calling for an “immediate ceasefire” and an end to the “massacre in Gaza.” The march was led by the National Collective for a Just and Lasting Peace Between Palestinians and Israelis (CNPJDPI), consisting of members of about 40 progressive movements including trade unions like the General Confederation of Labor (CGT), youth and student groups, anti-imperialist and anti-war advocates, and progressive political parties including La France Insoumise (LFI).

A Divided EU Can’t Agree On Ceasefire In Israeli Campaign Against Gaza

The disagreements over the EU position after the eruption of the Israel-Hamas war have been broader and more public than observers might have expected. At the same time, they hardly come as a surprise. The long-standing position of the EU on the conflict has been support for a two-state solution and the Palestinian Authority (PA) headed by Mahmoud Abbas. In the face of the growing number of settlements in the West Bank – where the PA suffers a profound crisis of legitimacy –, the worsening of the situation in the Gaza Strip under Israel’s siege and frequent bombings, and the establishment of the most right-wing government in Israel’s history in December 2022, the two-state solution already appeared more distant than ever before the recent events.

University Students Across The US Walk Out Of Classes For Gaza

On Wednesday, October 25, students across dozens of campuses in North America staged walkouts in protest of Israel’s genocidal war against Gaza. The walkout, taking place at university campuses in the United States and Canada, was organized by the Palestinian Youth Movement. Dissenters, and Students for Justice in Palestine. The students demand an end to Israel’s siege on Gaza, an end to US funding of Israel, and that their universities divest from weapons corporations which supply the Israeli occupation.  Campuses participating in the walkout included Brown University, several City College of New York campuses, Florida State University, Howard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, McGill University, Stanford University, and the University of Chicago.

Before Discussing Gaza: Essential Facts You Need To Know

The mainstream media often portrays the Palestine-Israel conflict in a biased and oversimplified manner, depicting Palestinians as angry and irrational while downplaying their oppression. Media coverage often focuses on Palestinian reactions rather than Israeli actions, creating an unfair narrative. Israel has framed the conflict as a religious issue, diverting attention from political and human rights concerns, and placing blame on Palestinians while ignoring their struggle for self-determination and justice. The use of terminology like “separation wall” instead of “apartheid wall” in mainstream media further distorts the reality of the genocide.

‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 18: 32 Health Centers Forced Out Of Service

At least 140 Palestinians were killed in violent Israeli air strikes between Monday night and Tuesday morning in the besieged Gaza Strip, as Israel stepped up its bombardment of houses and infrastructure on the 18th day of its war on Gaza. Since October 7, at least 5,300 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli air strikes and ground missiles on the Gaza Strip, including 2,055 children, 1,119 women and 217 elderly people, and 18,000 injured, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health. The number of displaced Palestinians topped 1,400,000 people, while Israel committed massacres against 597 Palestinian families by targeting their homes and residential buildings, killing at least 3,813.

US Blocks Peace In Gaza, Supporting Israel’s Genocidal War On Civilians

While Israel indiscriminately bombs the Gaza strip, killing thousands of Palestinian civilians, the United States has blocked numerous ceasefire proposals at the United Nations Security Council. Instead of supporting peace, Washington has sent more weapons and military aid to Israel. Meanwhile, mainstream Western human rights organizations have clearly stated that Israel is carrying out rampant war crimes, wiping out entire families. A top UN expert warned “that Palestinians are in grave danger of mass ethnic cleansing”.

Germany Bans Public Grieving And Solidarity With Palestine

Germany is home to Europe’s largest Palestinian community, with roughly 80,000 Palestinians living in the country. For years, German authorities have tried to stifle Palestinian activism in the country, viewing it as a nuisance to its explicit policy of “unconditional support for Israel.” Demonstrations, such as one earlier this year to mark the 75th anniversary of the Nakba, have been sporadically banned in recent years and organizations, like the Palestinian prisoner solidarity network Samidoun, have also come under increasing scrutiny. Yet the criminalization of solidarity with Palestine on a national level has taken on entirely new dimensions since October 7.
