Mother Nature Says Adios To Rube Goldberg US Military Pier In Gaza

Well, I told you so. Mother Nature with her not-so-big wind and waves tore apart the multimillion-dollar temporary pier that took the U.S. military two months to be transported from a U.S. Army base on the U.S. east coast and another two months to construct like legos. Mother Nature had to intervene not once, not twice, but three times before the U.S. government finally got the message. The pier idea was reportedly sprung on the U.S. military in President Biden’s January State of the Union address. The risk assessment for success was probably never started, much less completed, or if it was completed, it was probably hidden in a desk drawer as the predictions would not have matched the political demand of “Do somethingto help get us out of this mess.”

What’s Next For The Uncommitted Campaign?

Primary season is coming to a close as we move closer to the presidential election. In recent months, thousands of voters have flocked to the polls to vote “Uncommitted,” a symbol of their displeasure with Biden’s support for Israel’s genocidal assault on Gaza. That electoral push was birthed out of a Listen to Michigan campaign with a small budget and little time. In that state, more than 104,000 people voted Uncommitted. The subsequent national effort has earned the movement almost 40 delegates at the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Where does the movement go from here and what happens to it after November?

Red Line Protest For Gaza At White House, More Support For Palestine

Washington DC—Thousands surrounded the White House Saturday with a ‘people’s red line’ message to the Biden administration to stop funding and supporting Israel’s war on Gaza. At midday, hundreds unfurled and circled the White House with a 2 mile long red banner with names of thousands of Palestinians slain by Israeli military bombing in Gaza. Over 200 groups joined in demanding an immediate cease-fire in Gaza, withdrawal of military forces, and a pathway towards Palestinian Statehood. The Israeli military is now in its 9th month of a sustained military assault and occupation of Gaza which began on October 7, 2023 and has leveled over 80% of its structures, killed nearly 40,000 women and children, and rendered Gaza virtually unlivable.

Tens Of Thousands To Surround White House On June 8

Tens of thousands of people will are mobilizing to surround the White House on June 8 in protest of Biden’s complicity in the Israeli genocide in Gaza, principally the brutal invasion of Rafah, which takes more and more Palestinian lives each day. Biden had claimed in the past that the invasion of Rafah by Israel would be a red line, and even threatened to withhold weapons shipments (while actually halting some shipments of bombs) over the threat of invasion. “I made it clear that if they go into Rafah—they haven’t gone in Rafah yet—if they go into Rafah, I’m not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah, to deal with the cities—that deal with that problem,” Biden said during a CNN interview on May 8.

People’s Conference For Palestine Closes With A Pledge To Mobilize

After three days of idea exchange and relationship building, the People’s Conference for Palestine ended with a bold call to mobilize: surround the White House on June 8 in protest of Israel’s ongoing offensive against Rafah.  “Biden said he had a red line, remember the red line? He said, if Netanyahu dares go into Rafah, that’s a red line, we the United States, will stop sending weapons to Israel,” said Brian Becker, executive director of the ANSWER Coalition, said during the plenary session entitled “How Do Movements Achieve Transformation?”  “Israel went ahead and invaded Rafah, and what did Biden do? He continued to send the bombs and the missiles to carry out the massacre in Rafah and throughout Gaza."

Morehouse Will Stop Commencement If Students Protest Biden Speech

When President Joe Biden gives the commencement speech at Morehouse College this weekend, it might be a short one. Administrators at the historically black college have warned the event will be stopped if there are protests over Gaza. When President Joe Biden gives the commencement speech at Morehouse College this weekend, it might be a short one. Administrators at the historically black college have warned students that the event will be stopped if any “disruptive” behavior occurs. Recent events suggest that there’s a good chance we’ll see some, as community members have consistently protested the administration’s support for Israel’s brutal assault on Gaza.

White House Correspondents’ Dinner; Biden Uses Back Door To Evade Protests

Pro-Palestine demonstrators protested the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday, denouncing the Biden administration’s handling of the war in Gaza and media coverage of the conflict that has killed tens of thousands, the Anadolu news agency reported.  According to Al-Jazeera, Biden avoided the large crowd of protesters at the front entrance of the hotel, and entered through the back entrance, where he was greeted by a smaller number of protesters demanding a ceasefire . Organized by the US-based activist group CodePink, the protest took place outside the Washington Hilton, where the dinner was being held.

Active Duty Air Force Airman On White House Hunger Strike For Gaza

On Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024 at the White House, active-duty Air Force Senior Airman Larry Hebert began a hunger strike to highlight the plight of the starving children of Gaza.   He will be at the White House on Monday, April 1, 2024, for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll to remind parents and their children that while they are playing with Easter eggs on the White House lawn, children all over Gaza need eggs to stave off starvation. Hebert will be at the White House all next week, April 1-7.  Beginning Monday, April 8, when Congress returns from recess, he will be outside the houses of the U.S. Congress.

The People’s Ceasefire

The Biden administration deserves no praise for abstaining from a United Nations Security Council resolution which demands that Israel observe a two week long ceasefire in Gaza. The U.S. vetoed numerous resolutions already, and was forced into doing the barest of minimums because of domestic and international political pressure. In recent weeks, Joe Biden made an odd and obviously staged public statement on the floor of congress, claiming to have been angry with Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Leaked stories to the media made the same assertion, that Biden referred to Netanyahu as an “asshole” even as he continued to pour military aid into Israel.

Biden Quietly Greenlights More Weapons For Israel

The White House has quietly authorized the transfer of billions of dollars in bombs and warplanes to Israel, the Washington Post reported on 30 March. The transfers come ahead of Israel’s anticipated invasion of Rafah in southern Gaza that would threaten the lives of over a million displaced Palestinian civilians sheltering in the besieged border city. The weapons transfers include more than 1,800 MK-84 2,000-pound bombs and 500 MK-82 500-pound bombs, according to Pentagon and State Department officials. Israel has extensively used the MK-84 2,000-pound bombs to kill large numbers of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

Wisconsin’s Uninstructed Campaign Has Momentum

Organizers with Listen to Wisconsin, the group driving the state’s “Uninstructed” campaign, say next week’s primary will send President Joe Biden the “final, unequivocal message from the Midwest” that if he wants to beat Trump, he must act immediately to end the genocide in Gaza. Wisconsin may be the most pivotal swing state in the country, and Biden only beat Trump by the narrowest of margins there in 2020 — a little more than 20,000 votes, or just over 0.6%. And according to some recent polls, the incumbent is currently trailing (by anywhere from 2% to 6%) as he is losing support from voters — including younger voters — who care about the mass killings.

Pre-Dawn Noise Demonstration Targets Biden’s Stay In Dallas

Dallas, TX – On Thursday, March 21, members of Palestinian Youth Movement, DFW Anti-War Committee and other Palestine supporters engaged in a 5:30 a.m. noise demonstration outside President Joe Biden’s lodgings at the Fairmont Hotel, lasting until Biden’s speedy departure at 10:30 a.m. Demonstrators banged pots and pans, blew whistles, set off air horns, and in one case played a harmonium. The crowd of about 100 chanted, “If we don’t get no justice, then you don’t get no peace!” and “Wake up Biden! You can’t hide! We charge you with genocide!”

Plaintiff In Biden Gaza Genocide Lawsuit States Their Case

Israel has killed more than 30,000 Palestinians over the past five months of its genocide in Gaza, including more than 13,000 children. The Israeli bombing campaign has wiped hospitals, universities, primary schools, and other critical infrastructure off the map, not even sparing tent cities in Rafah where over a million displaced people have fled to. Through it all, the Biden administration has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel, supplying the funds and arms required for Israel’s extermination campaign to continue.

Where Can Democrats Vote Uncommitted After Super Tuesday?

As Super Tuesday returns come in, it appears that almost 20% of Democratic presidential primary voters in Minnesota have cast ballots for “uncommitted,” ensuring at least one convention delegate. About 12% of North Carolina voters opted for “no preference.” Campaigns in Minnesota, Massachusetts, Colorado, North Carolina and other states with March 5 primaries asked voters to cast a protest vote over President Joe Biden’s support of Israel’s war on Gaza. The uncommitted push began with the Listen to Michigan campaign, which urged voters to fill in the uncommitted bubble to “strongly reject Biden’s funding war and genocide in Gaza.”

Defunding UNRWA Makes United States Complicit In Genocide

Earlier this year, the International Court of Justice ruled that Israel’s actions in Gaza plausibly constitute genocide. The world’s most influential judicial body ordered Israel to stop killing civilians and to admit more humanitarian aid. Unfortunately, Israel was having none of it. Israel’s killings have continued, with over 30,000 Palestinians in Gaza now dead and tens of thousands more at risk of dying from hunger and disease. Precious little aid is getting in. And worse, the U.S. has joined Israel’s efforts to incapacitate Gaza’s most important relief agency.
