Hezbollah Confirms The Death Of Hasan Nasrallah In Israeli Carpet-Bombing

The Secretary General of Hezbollah, Hasan Nasrallah, was killed by the latest Israeli carpet-bombing of Beirut’s southern Dahiya district on Friday, according to an official announcement by the Lebanese resistance group on Saturday afternoon. Israel had bombed a residential block in the Haret Hraik area in the Dahiya district with several 2000-pound bunker-buster bombs. The massive airstrike leveled an entire residential block and completely flattened at least six residential buildings. Israeli media outlets first reported that Nasrallah was the target of the strike, while AFP and Reuters quoted sources described as “close to Hezbollah” saying that he was still alive.

Iraqi Resistance ‘Ready For Open War’ Against Israel After Lebanon Attacks

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI) announced its readiness for a comprehensive war with Israel in response to a series of massive Israeli strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut overnight, Al-Akhbar reported on 28 September. The Israeli bombing campaign targeted the headquarters of Hezbollah as well as civilian residential buildings in Beirut's Dahiye neighborhoods, causing major destruction. The number of victims remains unclear but is expected to be large, as many were buried underneath the rubble of the destroyed buildings. Ali al-Mahdi, the leader of the Iraqi resistance, told Al-Akhbar in a statement that "the armed factions have the full capacity and readiness in terms of fighters, weapons, and drones to fight a long war on a regional level.

Syria And Iraq: Unsung Heroes In Defending Lebanon And Palestine

Syria and the Islamic Resistance in Iraq are demonstrating exceptional solidarity with Lebanon, providing critical aid and defense against Israeli terrorist attacks and indiscriminate bombings, yet their contributions remain largely unrecognized. They are the unseen forces behind Lebanon’s defense and resilience, backing Hezbollah, the country’s militant resistance organization. Syria has bolstered its defensive and humanitarian efforts, while the Iraqi resistance has intensified its offensive operations. They, alongside Iran and Yemen, are united in their material support for Lebanon and Palestine. Syria has significantly increased its defensive measures and humanitarian aid to Lebanon.

Israel’s Bombing Campaign Backed By Media Propaganda

Western corporate media outlets, including the BBC, CNN, and The New York Times, have been working overtime to justify Israel’s recent assault on Lebanon, which claimed the lives of approximately 600 people in a single day. These reports have repeatedly claimed that the Israeli strikes were targeting “Hezbollah positions,” an assertion that has been widely echoed without substantial scrutiny. Israel’s large-scale onslaught against civilian areas throughout Lebanon, which began on Monday, was covered by Western corporate media as “strikes on Hezbollah.” CNN’s story on the first day of the assault, after around 500 people had been killed across Lebanon, was titled, “Israeli Strikes Targeting Hezbollah Kill Hundreds Across Lebanon.”

In Gaza, All Eyes Are On Lebanon

A day after the start of the genocide in Gaza on October 7 of last year, the first Arab front of solidarity aimed at ending the genocide was formed in Lebanon, and Hezbollah announced that it would fight Israel from the north until the war on Gaza ended. For an entire year, the resistance in Lebanon never let up in maintaining its “support front,” as its Secretary General Hasan Nasrallah called it. The reaction of the Palestinians of Gaza to Hezbollah’s intention to continue fighting alongside the Palestinians was hopeful. They believed that increased military pressure on Israel from the north would force it to divide up its forces and lessen the pressure on Gaza.

Israel Amasses Troops Near Lebanese Border For Possible Ground Invasion

The Israeli army has completed the recruitment of two reserve infantry and tank brigades for operational missions on the northern front, Avichay Adraee, the Israeli military’s Arabic language spokesman, said on the social media site X on 27 September. The announcement comes as Israel prepares for a ground invasion of south Lebanon to fight Hezbollah. The Israeli Air Force began a massive bombing in south and east Lebanon on Monday, killing over 700 people and displacing at least 70,000 more. Adraee stated that reservists from the Etzioni Brigade and the Northern Nahal Brigade have arrived in the north.

President Maduro Orders Checks Of All Army Communication Devices

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has asked the Bolivarian National Armed Forces to proceed with plans to review all communications and cyber equipment owned by the national military and security institution, in order to prevent such equipment from being used to attack the country. During his participation in the 19th anniversary commemoration of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (CEOFANB) this Thursday, September 26, President Maduro explained that this decision was made after the Israeli settler state recently hacked communication devices such as cell phones or pagers to carry out terrorist attacks in Lebanon, killing dozens and injuring thousands.

Biden’s UNGA Address On Democracy, Cooperation Contrasts With Reality

When US President Biden ended his final address to the UN General Assembly with “my fellow leaders, there is nothing that’s beyond our capacity if we work together,” it can be easy to forget that the United States is the number one obstacle to mutual cooperation around the world. Biden’s mention of the various conflicts and aggressions around the world—from Ukraine to Sudan to Gaza—of course made no mention of the US’s complicity in each of these conflicts. Biden calls for “a ceasefire and hostage deal” for Gaza in order to “bring the hostages home, secure security for Israel, and Gaza free of Hamas’ grip, ease the suffering in Gaza, and end this war.”

Arab States Warn Israel ‘Pushing For All-Out War’

Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq warned in a joint statement on 25 September that Israel is “pushing” the region into a state of all-out war. The joint statement was made on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York. “Israel is pushing the region into a comprehensive war,” the foreign ministers of the three Arab states said, condemning the ongoing Israeli attacks across Lebanon and calling on “the international community and the Security Council to assume their relevant responsibilities to stop the war.” Stopping this “dangerous escalation underway in the region” must begin “by halting Israel’s aggression in Gaza,” they added.

Israel’s Tally Of War Crimes In Lebanon Increases

Israel escalated attacks against Lebanon on September 23, marking the deadliest day of Israeli bombings in that country since 2006. Israel’s strikes in southern and eastern Lebanon, as well as the capital city of Beirut, left a death toll of at least 274, including women, children and paramedics. The Israeli military targeted “medical centres, ambulances and cars of people trying to flee,” according to Al Jazeera, which cited Lebanon’s Health Minister Firass Abiad as the source for the information. Israel also targeted civilian homes, which it claimed were housing Hezbollah weapons. This latest targeting of Lebanese civilians comes on the heels of Israel’s detonation of hand-held electronic devices in civilian areas of Lebanon on September 17 and 18, when Israeli forces remotely triggered multiple explosions of electronic pagers and walkie-talkies that killed at least 37 people, including a 9-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy, and maimed or injured 3,250 people, 200 critically.

‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 353: Israel Bombs Lebanon

At least 274 Lebanese have been killed and 1,024 have been wounded by Israeli airstrikes, the Lebanese Health Ministry said on Monday as Israeli bombings continue on dozens of Lebanese towns in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley in the eastern part of the country. On Monday morning, the Israeli army announced that it was going to engage in a “difficult day of fighting” in Lebanon, as its spokesperson claimed that Hezbollah was storing missiles in homes and civilian areas. The spokesperson illustrated a digital drawing made by the army as “proof” of his claims, calling upon Lebanese citizens — in Hebrew — to move away from sites tied to Hezbollah.

Israel Opened A New Front In Lebanon On A War It Cannot End

Last week, Israel’s series of indiscriminate attacks on Lebanon, including the blowing up of communication devices, and air strikes on Beirut’s suburb of Dahiyeh, dealt a heavy blow to Hezbollah. In addition to the high casualty rates among civilians, the attacks killed dozens of Hezbollah fighters, including top commanders of the elite Radwan unit. On Monday, Israel escalated its attacks by launching heavy bombardment of south Lebanon and the Bekaa valley killing and injuring over 1000 civilians in a few hours. The ability of Israel to infiltrate Hezbollah’s communications network and eliminate top military leaders cast serious doubts on the armed resistance’s capacity to operate efficiently on the battlefield. Intelligence failures can be deadlier than field losses for the overall conduct of the war.

Netanyahu Is Coming To New York City And Will Be Greeted By Mass Protest

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to deliver an address at the United Nations General Assembly later this week. On Thursday, September 26, several anti-imperialist organizations, organized under the Shut it Down For Palestine Coalition, are holding a demonstration denouncing Netanyahu’s visit and demanding that he be arrested for genocide and crimes against humanity. In August, International Criminal Court (ICC) Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan urged ICC judges to rule on his request for arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. Khan had applied for arrest warrants back in May for the two top Israeli leaders for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Nearly 200 Killed Within Hours As Israel Expands Attacks On Lebanon

Over 180 people have been killed in a massive wave of Israeli airstrikes targeting southern and eastern Lebanon on 23 September. “These raids have led, until the issuance of this statement, to 182 martyrs and 727 wounded, including children, women and paramedics among the martyrs and wounded,” the Emergency Operations Center of the Lebanese Health Ministry said on Monday afternoon. The toll is expected to continue rising. Israeli airstrikes are also targeting the Bekaa region in eastern Lebanon. Hundreds of strikes have taken place in the last few hours. Several civilian homes have been targeted and destroyed in several villages, including Sohmor in the Bekaa and several areas in the south, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported.

Hezbollah Fires 115 Rockets Toward Israel In Retaliation For Exploding Electronics Attack

In the early hours of Sunday morning, September 22, Hezbollah launched several barrages of rockets on northern Israeli targets in the Haifa region, including a military airbase. The Lebanese resistance group said in a statement that the salvo of rockets was an “initial response” to the “monstrous massacre perpetrated by the Israeli enemy across Lebanese territory on Tuesday and Wednesday,” referring to the Israeli pager and electronics explosions last week, which claimed the lives of 32 people and injured over 3,000 others. The Lebanese response also comes two days after Israel’s bombing of Beirut’s southern Dahiya district on Friday that targeted and killed 15 leaders of the Radwan Force, Hezbollah’s elite military unit trained to invade Israeli territory. Among the slain were top Hezbollah commander and founder of the Radwan Force, Ibrahim Aqil.
