Freedom Flotilla’s Handala Begins Its Journey To Gaza

Siracusa, Italy, July 13, 2025 — Today, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) announces that Handala, our civilian aid boat, has officially set sail from Siracusa, Italy and begun its journey to Gaza. This marks a bold step in our ongoing effort to challenge Israel’s illegal, deadly blockade of the Palestinian people in Gaza. The boat carries life-saving humanitarian aid and a message of solidarity from people around the world refusing to stay silent as Gaza is starved, bombed, and buried under rubble. This mission comes just weeks after Israel’s illegal attack on the Madleen, another Freedom Flotilla boat, which was violently seized in international waters.

CUNY Escalates Repression Against Palestine Activism

In a move that activists are saying is an attempt to quell the passionate student and worker movement for Palestinian liberation within the City University of New York (CUNY), student organizer Hadeeqa Arzoo Malik has been suspended for a year. While she is suspended from CCNY, she is not permitted to enroll in any other CUNY college.  Malik is a courageous organizer and leader of CCNY’s Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter. She has become a public face of the student movement for Palestine in New York City and across the nation since the movement accelerated worldwide to end Israel’s escalated genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

Faith Leaders Are Standing Up To The Largest Pro-Israel Christian Lobby

At lunchtime on July 1, as the Senate prepared to vote on Trump’s deeply unpopular “Big Beautiful Bill,” the cafeteria line at the Rayburn House Office Building ground to a halt. Where lobbyists and staffers usually rushed through the midday crush, over 100 clergy and faith leaders had gathered in solemn resistance. They linked arms and broke into song with the message: “Congress doesn’t eat ‘til Gaza eats.” At the other end of Capitol Hill, the Dirksen Senate Office Building cafeteria filled with chants and prayerful silence. Within minutes, Capitol Police arrested over 65 people.

UK Blacklists Palestine Action In ‘Grotesque, Chilling’ Move

The British parliament passed a vote on 2 July proscribing the Palestine Action activist group as a terrorist organization, a move strongly condemned by various groups and individuals as “grotesque,” “chilling,” and an “unprecedented legal overreach.” In parliament, 385 voted in favor of the proscription, while 26 voted against it. UK Security Minister Dan Jarvis said in parliament that Palestine Action is not “a legitimate protest group.” “People engaged in lawful protest do not need weapons. People engaged in lawful protest do not throw smoke bombs and fire pyrotechnics around innocent members of the public.

Organizers Plan For Second Annual People’s Conference For Palestine

For the second year in a row, Palestinian diaspora and solidarity activists are set to convene in Detroit, Michigan, for the second edition of the People’s Conference for Palestine. Last year in late May, 3,000 pro-Palestine activists met in Detroit for a three-day conference. The conference took place at a historic juncture for the Palestine movement in North America, weeks after the height of the global student movement of “Gaza Solidarity Encampments” and eight months into Israel’s genocide of the Gaza Strip. In this political moment, when global consciousness in solidarity with Palestine reached new heights, leaders in the pro-Palestine movement throughout North America met to review strategy and plan for the future.

‘Have Some Blood! You Like Shedding It All Over The World So Much’

Mike Ferner, of Veterans For Peace, threw blood at the US mission to the UN today: “Here, United States, have some blood! You like shedding it all over the world so much? There you go! How about some blood? A small amount of the blood — the blood money — that corporations make taking us to war all the time. No. More. Killing. Please. Stop it.” He and 28 others were reportedly arrested today. He had been participated in #FastForGaza Most arrests took place at the Israeli mission to the UN where a mass action was. Joy Metzler, co-founder of Servicemembers For Ceasefire, was among those arrested there.

Artists Speak Up Against Genocide In Gaza At Europe’s Music Festivals

As Europe’s summer music festival season rolls out, mainstream media and governments are struggling to keep Palestine solidarity off the stage. In its coverage of Glastonbury Festival, the BBC focused on censoring the Irish rap group Kneecap over their staunch pro-Palestinian stance – only to be met by a wave of artists who used their platform to call for a free Palestine and to demand broadcasters share real news about the Israeli genocide in Gaza. Among them was the British duo Bob Vylan, who led the crowd in chanting “Free, free Palestine” and “Death, death to the IDF,” denouncing war crimes committed by the Israeli army, including the starvation of children and the killing of civilians in humanitarian aid lines.

Israel’s War On Gaza: Who Are Palestine Action?

The British government is set to ban the direct action group Palestine Action under anti-terror legislation after activists broke into RAF Brize Norton earlier this month and spray-painted two planes. The group said the airbase was targeted because flights leave there daily "for RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, a base used for military operations in Gaza and across the Middle East". The activists damaged Airbus Voyager aircraft, which carry military cargo and refuel fighter jets and military planes. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has said she will bring legislation to proscribe the group before Parliament on 30 June.

‘Disarmiamoli!’ Brings 30,000 To Rome Against NATO And War

Some 30,000 people took to the streets of Rome on June 21 to protest war and rising military expenditures. Organized under the banner “Disarmiamoli!” (Let’s disarm them!), the demonstration brought together workers, grassroots trade unions, student collectives, and social movements. Protesters condemned the expansion of military budgets across Europe, coming at the direct expense of public services like healthcare, education, and other public services. “Forty billion [euros] more will be gradually handed over to war instead of addressing our real needs, schools, hospitals, emergency services and environmental transition, and social support for those in need,” the Disarmiamoli! network stated ahead of the protest.

Italian Workers Strike Against War And Militarization

The Italian grassroots trade union Unione Sindacale di Base (USB) launched a general strike on Friday, June 20, to escalate national mobilization against armament and war. Echoing a slogan from broader peace campaigns – “Abbassate le armi, alzate i salari” (“Lower the weapons, raise the wages”) – striking workers aiming to expose the consequences of Europe’s, and more specifically Italy’s, growing military-industrial agenda, including more cuts in the region’s public services. “This is a strike against war and rearmament, but also against the devastating militarization of the economy and society,” USB stated ahead of the strike.

UC San Francisco Fired Me For Speaking Out Against Genocide

In May 2025, after 23 years of service, I was fired from my position as a Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). As healthcare workers were being targeted, tortured, and killed in Gaza by Israel’s US-backed genocide, I could not remain quiet. I spoke out as Gaza’s hospitals were bombed. I brought everything I had as a physician dedicated to building a world of health for all, as a scholar of colonialism and health, as an activist who has stood with Indigenous grandmothers at Standing Rock and survivors of racist police violence in San Francisco, and as a mother who cares for my own children and as a corollary, all children.

Chicago Jewish Activists Embark On Indefinite Hunger Strike Over Gaza

The risk of famine increases in Gaza as the Israeli government’s blockade of nearly all aid to Gaza approaches its third month. “I felt this almost sense of panic as every day went by without food let in,” Ash Bohrer, a Chicago-based Jewish activist in the Palestinian solidarity movement, told me as she outlined how high the stakes are as the genocide continues in Gaza. “When I first heard it, my initial thought was … if there is some way I can use my body,” Bohrer said, “I am ready and willing to do it, and I think about it as a personal, moral and religious obligation to do so.”

Meet The American Military Veterans Fasting For Gaza

Joy Metzler was a second lieutenant in the US Air Force when Aaron Bushnell self-immolated in protest against the US's role in Israel's war on Gaza. The 23-year-old Metzler was so moved by Bushnell's sacrifice in February 2024 that she began researching Palestine. Horrified by Israel's occupation and US backing for what international human rights groups, experts and several countries now qualify as an act of genocide in Gaza, she became a conscientious objector to the war, choosing to leave the air force in August 2024. Her application to be excused from the air force was approved in April 2025.

Minnesotans Protest Democratic Party Support For Genocide

Minneapolis, MN – On June 13, over 100 protesters rallied outside the Democratic Farmer-Labor Party (DFL) annual Humphrey-Mondale fundraising dinner. Despite hours of rain, picketers chanted outside the Minneapolis Hilton hotel, demanding that DFL leaders use their power to divest Minnesota funds from apartheid Israel after almost two years of U.S.– funded genocide of Palestinians. The action was organized by the Minnesota Anti-War Committee (AWC). The protest came during a critical time in the pro-Palestinian struggle; Israel has not only continued its genocidal bombing campaign against Palestinian civilians, but it has implemented an explicit starvation policy in which IDF troops massacre Palestinians at so-called “humanitarian aid” centers.

Reports With Video From The March To Gaza

On the morning of the 13th, delegates headed in taxis to a remote site in the Sinai desert. There were three military checkpoints: at the first some delegates were turned back and forced into a bus that left them in Cairo; those of us that made it to a third checkpoint were stopped and all our passports were confiscated… about 1200 of us gathered and were gradually encircled by the Egyptian military. At that point we were told we could turn back or “risk being arrested”—about 50 people left and were bussed back to Cairo. Those remaining chanted and talked among ourselves and the time passed quickly despite the desert heat.
