Donald Trump

The Beautiful Game Is Getting Ugly

Washington, DC – Inside the Kennedy Center, FIFA President Gianni Infantino was hanging a gold metal around the neck of his “close friend” Donald Trump and giving him a hefty golden peace trophy. “The FIFA Peace Prize is awarded annually,” Infantino said of the new award nobody has ever won before from his supposedly apolitical organization. The pair were at the landmark arts venue for a floor show–like event before officials drew brackets of teams to play this summer’s World Cup tournament, to be held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. FIFA took over the building for free and displaced scheduled National Symphony Orchestra concerts, according to The Washington Post; it closed down nearby streets for multiple blocks and forced drivers into inconvenient detours.

Pro-Trump Heartland Institute’s European Network

A year ago, as the world convulsed from Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential election, his allies were already identifying their next frontier. In December, the Heartland Institute hosted a private event in Mayfair, one of London’s wealthiest areas, to announce the launch of its new UK-Europe branch. The launch was attended by former Conservative prime minister Liz Truss and current shadow trade and business secretary Andrew Griffith, with Reform UK leader Nigel Farage as the star speaker. The Heartland Institute is proudly one of the world’s foremost climate science denial groups, with extensive ties to the Trump administration. It contributed to Project 2025 – the blueprint for Trump’s second term, drafted by the Heritage Foundation.

US State Department Travel Warning On Venezuela

Following his earlier threat that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s days are numbered, US President Donald Trump announced on social media he was closing Venezuelan airspace. He then immodestly proclaimed the “Trump Corollary” to the Monroe Doctrine, commending his nineteenth century predecessor for presciently envisioning “a superpower unlike anything the world had ever known.” On December 3, the US State Department followed suit by issuing an updated Venezuela Travel Advisory. The document is a masterpiece of geopolitical creative writing, where the main export of Venezuela is not oil but existential dread.

Trump Frees Drug Trafficker; US Meddles In Honduras’ Elections

Donald Trump has pardoned and freed from prison one of the world’s worst drug dealers, the former dictator of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández, who was convicted of trafficking more than 400 tons of cocaine and machine guns into the United States. Meanwhile, the Trump administration has been openly meddling in Honduras’ 2025 election. Honduran electoral officials have revealed evidence of massive fraud, aimed at putting a right-wing US-backed candidate in power. The US government sponsored a military coup against Honduras’ democratically elected left-wing president in 2009.

Iran Reiterates Demand For US Accountability For Role In Israeli Aggression

Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, on Thursday November 27, wrote a letter to the UN Security Council announcing Iran’s intentions to seek US accountability for its role in Israeli aggression on Iran in June this year. “The Islamic Republic of Iran once again reiterates its call on the UN Secretary General and the Security Council to take appropriate measures, consistent with their responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security, to ensure accountability of both the US and the Israeli regime for” their grave violations of international laws, the letter reportedly says.

Trump Pardons Convicted Narco-Trafficking Politician

On November 28, US President Donald Trump Trump declared he will be pardoning former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez, who was sentenced to 45 years in a New York prison in 2024 for his role in helping smuggle 400 tons of cocaine into the US in a drug-running scheme linked to the Sinaloa cartel. Hernandez, Trump wrote, had been “treated very harshly and unfairly.” While Hernandez was President of Honduras, he initiated contracts worth over half a million dollars with Republican lobbying firm BGR Group, after his brother, Tony, was sentenced to life in prison for cocaine smuggling.

Trump Attempts To ‘Close’ Venezuela’s Airspace With Imaginary Decree

In a bizarre social media post on Saturday, November 29, US President Donald Trump issued a warning amid escalating military action and pressure on Venezuela and President Nicolás Maduro: “To all airlines, pilots, drug dealers and human traffickers, please consider the airspace above and surrounding Venezuela to be closed in its entirety.” This unprecedented attempt at an air blockade is another step in the escalating aggression that Washington is carrying out against Venezuela. However, experts in international law emphasize that Trump does not have the authority to close the airspace of another sovereign country, as that power belongs solely to the state that exercises sovereignty over its territory or to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

The Neocon-Realist War Over Ukraine

Donald Trump made some revealing remarks to the media as he flew to Florida for Thanksgiving on Wednesday. Asked if he thought Ukraine is being asked to give too much land to Russia in his proposal to end the war, Trump responded: “It’s clearly up to the Russians. It’s moving in one direction. … That’s land that over the next couple of months might be gotten by Russia anyway. So, do you want to fight and loose another 50,000 or 60,000 people? Or do something now? They are negotiating; they are trying to get it done.” That’s the same realistic approach Trump’s new special envoy to Ukraine, U.S. Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll, took with the Ukrainians and Europe’s so-called “coalition of the willing” during a visit to Kiev earlier this week.

Mass Mobilization In Caracas Rejects US Threats Of Intervention

On November 25, tens of thousands of Venezuelans marched to defend national sovereignty. The event, dubbed the “Great Civic-Military, Police March for our National Flag and the Sword of Bolívar”, brought together various groups of military personnel, police, and civilians who demanded an end to Washington’s pressure on the Caribbean country. Since August, the Pentagon has deployed its troops in the Caribbean Sea to, according to the Trump administration, stop the entry of drugs which allegedly come out of Venezuela. At the same time, they have declared the Cartel de los Soles an international terrorist organization and identified the Venezuelan government leadership as part of that organization.

What? Peace In Our Time?

There are any number of reasons you may not like, or may even condemn, the 28–point peace plan the Trump regime has drafted to advance toward a settlement of the war in Ukraine. You may be among those many all across the Western capitals who simply cannot accept defeat on the reasoning — is this my word? — that the West never loses anything, and it certainly cannot lose anything to “Putin’s Russia.” You may think that President Donald Trump and those who produced this interesting document, which leaked out in the course of some days last week, have once again “caved” to the Kremlin.

For Supporting Trump’s Gaza Plan, Arab States Cash In

The ceasefire agreement that came into effect last month has revealed the contours of Israel-Arab relations, and the political leverage Arab states hold in Washington. It also underscored that Israel could not have achieved its military gains in the region, nor carried out the genocide in Gaza, without cooperation and political cover from several Arab states. Since the outset, these states have sought to extract political and strategic advantages from the devastation. The Saudi crown prince's White House visit last week further reflected this strategy.

Soldiers Must Disobey Unlawful Orders Under Trump

The courageous action of six Democratic members of Congress has thrust into the national discourse the duty of military and CIA personnel to disobey Donald Trump’s illegal orders. As the Trump administration continues to unlawfully murder people in small vessels in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific, deploy the National Guard to U.S. cities, and ignore court orders, the six lawmakers were moved to act. In a 90-second video organized by Sen. Elissa Slotkin (Michigan), two senators and four Congress members, all U.S. military or CIA veterans, take turns reading a statement to active servicemembers, urging them to refuse to follow illegal orders.

Report: Trump-Led ‘Board Of Peace’ Considers ‘Expropriating’ Gaza Land

Following the passage of a UN resolution authorizing the US plan for post-war Gaza, President Donald Trump's so-called "Board of Peace" is considering 'expropriating" land from Palestinian owners displaced from the Israeli-controlled half of the strip, Haaretz reported on 23 November. Citing US officials and diplomats, the Israeli newspaper said the Board of Peace, headed by Trump, would be a "cornerstone" of the US plan for Gaza. "As outlined in the United Nations Security Council resolution adopted this week, the Board of Peace will coordinate the delivery of humanitarian assistance and facilitate Gaza's development," one US official said.

Trump’s Anti-Trans Policies Embolden Far Right

In 2025, over a thousand anti-transgender bills were introduced in 49 states across the country. Of those, over 100 have passed so far this year, continuing the trend of five consecutive record-breaking years of anti-trans legislation from 2020 to 2024. In recent years, I have watched these state-level attacks on transgender people spread across more than half the country, with many of these policies now being embraced at the federal level. In June, the Supreme Court ruled that Tennessee’s ban on gender-affirming care was constitutional, effectively opening the door for similar bans in 26 states.

UN Security Council Gives US ‘Mandate’ Over Palestine

The United Nations Security Council on Monday adopted a resolution that gives the world body’s imprimatur to Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza, a territory he said publicly should be ethnically cleansed to develop a Mediterranean resort. The council voted 13 nations in favor with two abstentions from China and Russia, which could have vetoed Trump’s plans. The resolution essentially revives the colonial mandate system of the League of Nations after the First World War, and the United Nations’ trusteeship system after the Second World War, both schemes in which colonial powers remained in charge of a colonized territory while it was supposed to wean it towards independence.
