Trump’s Funding Cuts Part Of New Formula To Erase Most Palestinians

U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to severely cut funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is another step in what seems to be an attempt by the U.S. and Israel to erase the Palestinian refugee issue. Festering for seven decades, the Palestinian refugee crisis has been an open wound affecting Palestine and the countries around it, and now Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claim they have found a solution: deny the existence of the refugees.

Trump Strikes Back At ‘Ringleader’ Brennan

There’s more than meets the eye to President Donald Trump’s decision to revoke the security clearances that ex-CIA Director John Brennan enjoyed as a courtesy customarily afforded former directors. The President’s move is the second major sign that Brennan is about to be hoisted on his own petard. It is one embroidered with rhetoric charging Trump with treason and, far more important, with documents now in the hands of congressional investigators showing Brennan’s ringleader role in the so-far unsuccessful attempts to derail Trump both before and after the 2016 election.

Hundreds Of Newspapers Say In Unision: ‘We Are Not The Enemy’

More than 300 media outlets are standing up to what they describe as Donald Trump's war on the free press and declaring in unison, 'We are not the enemy.'  Below is a statement from the executive director of the Institute for Nonprofit News, Sue Cross. Websites like Popular Resistance, are part of the people's media. We cover issues not widely covered in the corporate media, i.e. the popular movement for transformative change in the US and around the world. Social media is a major part of the people's media but it relies on corporations like Facebook and Google to provide access. There is a crisis in 21st Century journalism and it is bigger than Trump rhetoric, as bad as his rhetoric is.

Trump Era: “There Is Great Disorder Under The Sky, So The Situation Is Excellent!”

America's liberal elite is both horrified by Donald Trump, and incapable of mortally wounding him. What's needed instead is a profound leftward shift, led by new faces. Now that yet another week of President Trump's frantic activity is safely behind us, and slowly receding into memory, we can reflect on the chaotic wasteland his foreign trip left behind. The US President visited three places: Brussels - where he met the key European leaders, London - to see Theresa May and the Queen, plus Helsinki - where he held a summit with Vladimir Putin. While most pundits noted the apparently strange fact that Trump was much friendlier to (those perceived as) US enemies than to its traditional friends, this shouldn't surprise us too much. Instead, our attention should turn in another direction. As is often the case with Trump, reactions to his acts are more important than what he actually did.

The Putin-Trump Helsinki Summit: Not A Breakthrough, But A Possible Start

It is clearly understood that what Putin and Trump are working towards is a detente style ‘geopolitical ceasefire’ and not ‘friendship’ – and certainly not an alliance –  it can be said that their summit in Helsinki was a good start and a success. What happens next depends on whether the forces of realism and sanity in the US can prevail over those of megalomania and hysteria.  Given how entrenched the latter have become unfortunately no one can count on this. However, some sort of process which may in time lead to detente and an easing of tensions between the nuclear superpowers has begun.  Given the circumstances in which it has been launched that is more than might have been expected even a short time ago, and for that one should be grateful.

Can The Brit’s Baby Trump Blimp Come Play At Trump’s DC Military Parade?

The best thing about Donald Trump’s visit to England and Scotland was the protests—or Carnival of Resistance, as some called them. Their outrageous signs, costumes, and visuals, including the Baby Trump blimp, were in contrast to our oftentimes sedate US demonstrations.  That’s why a GoFundMe has been started to make Baby Trump Blimp the Guest of Honor at the November 10th protest against Trump’s scheduled military parade in Washington DC. The American public would certainly get a lift from an oversized Trump in diapers hovering above Trump’s macho display of guns and missiles. The UK protests should be an inspiration to Americans resisting Trump. When Trump met with British Prime Minister Theresa May and Queen Elizabeth, then went to Scotland for a round of golf, hundreds of thousands of people poured into the streets in opposition.

Can We Have More ‘Treason Summits’ Please?

There is also much to criticize President Putin for, spanning the gamut from undemocratic practices to running a kleptocracy to human rights. The Helsinki Summit deserves none of this criticism. It might be criticized for what it failed to discuss, but in the event, it did discuss one item that has evoked existential anxiety ever since 1945, and on which human survival and the survival of what we call civilization may yet depend, namely nuclear weapons. Had Trump done, as many critics are saying he should have done, the summit would have been over before it even began, and a golden opportunity to remove planetary obliteration from the global agenda would have been gone. One may argue that not enough was made of this opportunity: One may not argue that the opportunity should not have been created or taken.

Peace Movement Must Urge Trump And Putin To End War, Rid World Of Nuclear Weapons

Let me congratulate you on your great achievement – which neither you nor anybody else has noticed. You have awakened humanity from years of deep hibernation. And let’s not forget the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un. Together you have reminded the peoples of the world about the existence of nuclear weapons. The greatest threat today is not global warming but nuclear weapons and the danger of nuclear war. Your colourful speeches have let the genie out the bottle. The spirit of nuclear disarmament has escaped, and can no longer be shut away.

The Shadow Of Torture Behind Trump’s Britain Visit

As President Trump visits the United Kingdom, the focus has been on strained trans-Atlantic relations, his intervention in domestic politics, and massive public protests. A different, diplomatically-couched protest has received less attention but sends a consequential signal about the so-called “special relationship” between the two countries: U.K. parliamentarians are concerned that under Trump, America could return to a policy of torture — and they are warning British intelligence agencies to guard against it. Parliament’s Intelligence and Security Committee released a pair of reports at the end of June providing extensive detail about U.K. complicity in torture, rendition, and other abuses of detainees by the U.S. military and the CIA during the George W. Bush administration. The reports by the committee, which oversees the U.K.’s intelligence agencies, also focus on policy changes needed to avoid a repeat of such abuses.

Mass Protests Greet Trump As He Lands In Helsinki For Summit

Demonstrators brandished banners that read "Make peace, not war", "Refugees are welcome" and "Make human rights great again!" About 2,500 protesters demonstrated in support of human rights, democracy and the environment in Helsinki on Sunday, a day before U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin hold a summit in the Finnish capital. Demonstrators brandished banners that read "Make peace, not war", "Refugees are welcome" and "Make human rights great again!" Trump arrived in Helsinki later Sunday from Scotland. Tens of thousands of people demonstrated against his visit to London on Friday and several thousand more protested on Saturday in Scotland, where he spent much of the weekend playing golf.

White Nationalists Plan Event Across From The White House

The racist Nazis are looking for a fight. Shall we give them what they want? I propose no. Let’s not stoop to their level. Instead let’s organize a “Celebration of Diversity” in another location, which will be a hundred times larger than their sorry rally. That will show how puny they are and how massive we are. Our “Love Fest” will be a stark contrast to their “Hate Fest.” If we confront them with counter-hatred, it will just let Trump again claim, “There was violence on both sides.” If we plan to get in their face, it will keep our numbers a lot lower, removing the advantage of showing the world a gigantic rally for peace and love. If we confront them with counter-hatred, it will just let Trump again claim, “There was violence on both sides.” If we plan to get in their face, it will keep our numbers a lot lower, removing the advantage of showing the world a gigantic rally for peace and love.

Trump-Putin Summit: The Globalist Elite Fears Peace, Wants War

The announced meeting between Trump and Putin has already produced a good result by revealing the hypocrisy of the media and politicians. The meeting has been branded as the greatest danger to humanity, according to the Western globalist elite, because of the danger that "peace could break out between Russia and the United States". The rest of the world recognizes that a dialogue between Putin and Trump is something positive, but we must not forget that, as in Korea, if diplomacy does not bring significant progress, then the hawks surrounding Trump will again be in the ascendant. The tasks for Rouhani, Putin and Kim Jong-un are complex and quite different from each other, but they share in common the belief that dialogue is the only way to avoid a catastrophic war. But apparently, peace is not the best possible result for everyone.

‘Carnival Of Resistance’ Trump Protests Largest Since The Iraq War

President Trump is being met by mass protests in Great Britain. Everywhere he is expected to go, including London have held or are planning massive demonstrations. Today, Friday, July 13, 2018, the largest weekday protest in eleven years is taking place in London. The last one was a protest against the Iraq War.  The president avoided directly seeing the protests as his schedulers made sure all of his events were outside of the city. The London protests involved hundreds of thousands of people taking to the streets to protest Trump, showing historic opposition to a sitting president of the United States.

Germans Want Donald Trump To Pull US Troops Out Of Germany, Poll Finds

US president has said American military spending to protect Europe is not sustainable. Germans would actually welcome the withdrawal of American troops stationed in their country, a new poll has found – as Donald Trump threatens to pull the plug on military support. The finding comes on the first day of a Nato summit in which the US president is urging Europe to spend more on defence if it wants to continue to receive American military protection. But far from being seen as a threat, a YouGov poll for the dpa news agency found that more Germans would welcome the departure of the 35,000-strong American force than would oppose it. 42 per cent said they supported withdrawal while just 37 per cent wanted the soldiers to stay, with 21 per cent undecided.  Last month the US media reported that the US government was in the process of assessing the cost of keeping troops in Germany ahead of a possible withdrawal, citing Pentagon sources.

UK Government Preparing For Anti-Trump Protests As “If London Was Burning Down”

Hundreds of thousands of Britons are expected to take to the streets nationwide on Friday in opposition to Trump, who is scheduled to arrive in the U.K. Thursday evening. The protests—which will include a 20-foot-tall angry Trump baby blimp flying over London—are expected to be so large that White House officials are reportedly concerned that the crowd-obsessed Trump could lash out at his British hosts. "We need to show the world what millions of people in this country think of the bigotry and the hatred that he represents," Owen Jones, a Guardian columnist who helped organize the anti-Trump demonstrations, told TIME on Monday. "We've seen the rise of the far right in Britain and Europe, and the one lesson we should learn from history is that when racists and the far right mobilize, you fight back, you don't let them march and rise to power."
