Trump’s Latin American Policies Go South

With the Trump imperium passing the half-year mark, the posture of the US empire is ever clearer. Whether animated by “America First” or globalism, the objective remains “full spectrum dominance.” And now with the neocon capture of the Democrats, there are no guardrails from the so-called opposition party. Call it the “new cold war,” the “beginning of World War III,” or – in Trump’s words – “endless war,” this is the era that the world has entered. The US/Zionist war against Iran has paused, but no one has any illusions that it is over.

Trump’s Comments On Washington Football Team Name Spark Outrage

Washington—On Sunday, President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social suggesting that the Washington Commanders National Football League franchise revert to its offensive former nickname, drawing ire from Native American leaders. In his post, the president suggested he may stop a deal that would eventually build a stadium for the Washington Commanders if they fail to change the name back to the Redskins, which was retired in 2020 after years of protest from Native communities. He further stated that the Cleveland Guardians—who stopped using the “Indians” nickname in 2020—should change their name back and said “MAKE INDIANS GREAT AGAIN.”

Trump’s War On Iran Killed Any Shot At Dialogue With North Korea

The smoke over Iran may have cleared, but the aftershocks of the U.S. and Israel’s unprovoked attack are still reverberating. In one fell swoop, Washington conclusively demonstrated its total unreliability as a diplomatic partner. The lessons of this moment are being metabolized by heads of state across the world, including on the Korean Peninsula, where Donald Trump’s overtures for renewed dialogue with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) have so far been rebuffed. Trump’s flashy promises that he would revive the diplomatic process with Pyongyang never had much merit.

Chris Hedges Report: Jeffrey Epstein, Donald Trump And Sexual Blackmail Networks

Perhaps the biggest elephant in the room of American politics is the existence of a pedophilic blackmail network that involves some of the most powerful people in the country and the world. Despite efforts to get to the bottom of the Jeffrey Epstein case, which saw the trafficking and sexual exploitation of thousands of children, justice continues to be evaded and the cabal associated with Epstein — President Donald Trump notwithstanding — continues its conspiracy. Nick Bryant is a journalist and author who first published Epstein’s infamous “black book” in 2015 as well as Epstein’s flight logs.

Trump’s Tense Relationship With Latin America

The second term of US President Donald Trump has been full of commentary about other nations – both official and unofficial – that often signals the administration’s intentions, even without formal policy declarations. In turn, when Trump has thrown darts at certain governments, his statements immediately become headlines that spark debates – and at times uncertainties – in the countries he addresses. Latin America has been one of Trump’s favorite targets. One need only recall that during his first election campaign, he said that Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras were breeding grounds for criminals.

Trump’s 50-Day Deadline Threat Against Putin Will Backfire

In the first six months of his second term, President Donald Trump has demonstrated his love for three things: deals, tariffs, and ultimatums. He got to combine these passions during his Oval Office meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Monday. Only moments after the two leaders announced a new plan to get military aid to Ukraine, Trump issued an ominous 50-day deadline for Russian President Vladimir Putin to agree to a ceasefire. “We're going to be doing secondary tariffs if we don't have a deal within 50 days,” Trump told the assembled reporters. The threat is unlikely to change Putin’s calculus, however, or bring the conflict to a near-term conclusion.

America’s 25-Year Tax Cutting And Fiscal Train Wreck

On July 4, the US Congress passed Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act—or BBB for short. The mainstream media and economists have mostly been reporting the details of the tax cuts contained in the bill—that is, which taxes got cut, how much accrued to businesses and the wealthy as opposed to the rest of us, what the impact is on GDP, and maybe even on government deficits and debt. All interesting facts. But not the most important. They purposely ignore the cuts in historical perspective and the bigger picture they represent.

Israel Unveils A Concentration Camp In Southern Gaza

It is said that no news is good news. But when the cone of silence is dropped over meetings between U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, it is prudent to be apprehensive about what we don’t know. Before Netanyahu’s arrival in Washington, Trump had indicated that he expected their conversations to be focused almost exclusively on ending the Gaza “war.” The sickening euphemism aside, the fact that neither Trump nor Netanyahu are eager to disclose the contents of their meetings opens a wide range of possibilities.  The optimistic view is that Netanyahu is attempting to find a way to accommodate the President’s stated desire to end the genocide in Gaza without causing a rupture in his governing coalition.

New Tensions Between Bogotá And Washington Over Coup Plot Reveal

A new wave of tensions has emerged between Bogotá and Washington. Both Petro and Trump have announced that they are withdrawing their respective chargé d’affaires in each other’s countries in the aftermath of reports of a possible coup plot against Gustavo Petro. According to a report published by the Spanish newspaper, El País on June 29, Álvaro Leyva, the former minister of foreign affairs in Petro’s government, met with the Republican congressman of the United States, Mario Díaz-Balart, to discuss an early exit of Petro’s progressive government. Petro and his supporters were quick to respond, denouncing the plot and calling for clarification of the events. Charges have also been filed against Leyva.

Trump Threatens Additional Tariffs On BRICS-Linked Countries

US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose additional tariffs on any country affiliated with the BRICS+ group of emerging economies. Trump made the threat early on 7 July in a post on his Truth Social platform. “Any Country aligning themselves with the Anti-American policies of BRICS, will be charged an ADDITIONAL 10 percent Tariff,” the US president said. “There will be no exceptions to this policy. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” he added. Trump’s statement coincided with an ongoing BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. On Sunday, the bloc made a declaration condemning the rise in US tariffs in an indirect swipe at Washington, expressing “serious concerns.”

A Scramble For Minerals Under The Guise Of Peace

The Trump Administration brokered a vaunted peace agreement between the Republic of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) on June 27, 2025. The Agreement was witnessed by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and signed by Rwandan Foreign Minister, Olivier Nduhungirehe and DRC Foreign Minister, Therese Kayikamba-Wagner. The Agreement is a codification of the Declaration of Principles that the two foreign ministers signed on April 25th under the aegis of Marco Rubio at the State Department. The Signing of the Agreement on June 27th was followed up on the same day with a White House ceremony and briefing that included the two foreign ministers, Secretary Rubio, Vice-President JD Vance, and Trump's Senior Advisor for Africa, Massad Boulos.

Next Week, Trump And Netanyahu Will Meet To Plan ‘New Middle East’

U.S. President Donald Trump seems to have largely moved on from Iran and is now setting his sights on instituting a broader new order in the Middle East. Trump’s vision consists of an Israel-centric regional order that sees Iran and Hezbollah defeated and normalization with Israel spreading across the region, from Lebanon and Syria to Oman and Saudi Arabia. Joining him in creating this vision is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is slated to visit the White House on Monday. While there are potentially many obstacles to enacting this U.S./Israeli plan, it is clear that one focus is to quash any Palestinian aspirations for freedom.

Soldiers Are Taking A Stand Against Trump’s Abuses

Kim, an aircraft mechanic, joined the military in 2019, at age 18. She and her mother had struggled to survive, even living in their car at times. She didn’t think she could afford college, so she didn’t apply. Like so many young Americans in that situation, she enlisted “to get a stable paycheck, a roof over my head, food in my stomach at the end of the day.” Deployed only once, Kim spent most of her time on base, but she enjoyed the routine: waking up early for 15-hour workdays, staying up late to earn an associate’s degree, making lifelong friends and “amazing mentors.” But in 2024, she began to worry about what a new administration might ask the military to do.

Calls To GI Hotlines Rise As Service Members Consider Defying Orders

As the country tumbles towards fascism, some members of the U.S. military have struggled with a choice: defy illegal orders, or participate in the dismantling of American democracy. In June, over the objections of local leaders, including Gov. Gavin Newsom, President Donald Trump called up the National Guard and the U.S. Marines to quell protests in Los Angeles over immigration raids. That month, calls to the GI Rights Hotline spiked. The hotline provides information on military discharges and related issues; all calls are confidential. The hotline, which is jointly administered by a large consortium of nonprofit organizations, connects callers with both paid resource counselors and experienced volunteers.

Trump Tightens US Blockade On Cuba, Bans US Tourism

US President Donald Trump signed a memorandum reinforcing the US blockade on Cuba and banning all US tourism to the island. The move targets Cuba’s economy and aims to isolate the Cuban government. On June 30, 2025, US President Donald Trump signed a presidential memorandum that dramatically tightens the longstanding US blockade against Cuba and prohibits all US citizens from traveling to the island. This policy shift overturns the more conciliatory approach adopted by the Biden administration and signals a renewed campaign to economically and politically isolate Cuba.
