Does Google Basically Work For The White House?

By Elina Nigamatyanova for Russia Insider - It comes as it emerged Google has a deal to expand Internet access in Cuba Hillary Clinton’s emails reveal how Google wanted to overthrow Syrian President Bashar al-Assad using a mapping tool.At a time when America's foreign policy was to topple Assad, the tech giant - whose corporate motto is 'Don't Be Evil' - sought to encourage further defections from the leader's regime and boost the confidence of the opposition.

Clinton Email Shows US Sought Syria Regime Change For Israel

By Jason Ditz for Antiwar - It is rare for a succinct foreign policy platform paper to so fully encapsulate a candidate’s thinking process. A policy paper sent to Hillary Clinton, available on WikiLeaks, lays out the Democratic front-runner’s strategy as an architect of US intervention in Syria, shows the flawed reasoning that beget the scheme. Perhaps most importantly, the document shows utter blindness to the huge problems that the war ultimately led to. As with so many US wars in the Middle East, it all starts with Israel, and saw the US imposing regime change in Syria...

Confused On Health Care When The Answers Are Obvious

By Lori Robertson for Fact Check - Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton said, “I don’t know where [Bernie Sanders] was when I was trying to get health care in ’93 and ’94.” Actually, Sanders cosponsored a single-payer health insurance bill in 1993, and Clinton thanked him for his work on the issue that year. Clinton made the comment at a campaign rally in St. Louis, starting at the 18:23 mark, after she talked about standing up against “powerful forces.”

Google This! Hillary Clinton & Syrian Regime-Change Conspiracy

By Neil Clark for RT - If you’d have said a year ago that the US State Department, Google, and Al Jazeera had been collaborating in pursuance of regime change in Syria, chances are you’d have been casually dismissed as a ‘crank’ and a ‘conspiracy theorist’. Syria was a people’s uprising against a wicked genocidal Russian-backed dictator and the West had nothing to do with the bloodshed which engulfed the country. If you thought otherwise then you were considered an 'Assad apologist'.

Newsletter: Justice Takes A Lifetime

By Kevin Zeese and Margaret Flowers for Popular Resistance. The #BlackLivesMatter movement continues to grow its power and have notable victories, but 600 hundred years of racial oppression, older than the nation itself, will not be rooted out quickly. The movement had a series of electoral and other victories this week. These victories for #BLM and their supporters are notable but problems still persist and the movement must continue to grow and get stronger. There are no quick fixes to a country that is crippled by its history of racism. We must all recognize that the work we are doing for racial, economic and environmental justice requires us to be persistent and uncompromising. achieve the transformational justice we seek will last our lifetimes – a marathon and not a sprint.

Exposing Libyan Agenda: A Closer Look At Hillary’s Emails

By Ellen Brown for Common Dreams - The brief visit of then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Libya in October 2011 was referred to by the media as a “victory lap.” “We came, we saw, he died!” she crowed in a CBS video interview on hearing of the capture and brutal murder of Libyan leader Muammar el-Qaddafi. But the victory lap, write Scott Shane and Jo Becker in the New York Times, was premature. Libya was relegated to the back burner by the State Department, “as the country dissolved into chaos, leading to a civil war that would destabilize the region...

What You Probably Don’t Know About Hillary Clinton’s Record

By Staff of Other Worlds Are Possible - Missing from the discussion of Hillary Rodham Clinton's record has been her work in Haiti, where she blatantly manipulated and threatened Haitian government officials to control electoral outcomes. In that country, too, she and her husband have led the way in promoting a sweatshop-led development model. Other Worlds has compiled a list of articles that take a closer look into Clinton's work in Haiti and what her Presidency could portend for other nations.

The End of the Reagan Era

By Staff of Le Monde - How should we interpret the incredible success of the ‘socialist’ Bernie Sanders in the American Primaries? The Vermont senator now has the lead over Hillary Clinton amongst the Democrat supporters under 50 years and only the senior citizens’ vote has enabled Hillary to maintain her advantage. Faced with the Clinton electoral machine and the conservatism of the major media, Bernie will perhaps not win the primary. But it has been demonstrated that another Sanders, possibly younger and less white, could one day soon win the American presidential elections and change the face of the country.

Black Lives Matter Activists Interrupt Hillary Clinton

By Tyler Tynes for The Huffington Post - Two Black Lives Matter activists interrupted a private Hillary Clinton fundraising event Wednesday night in Charleston, South Carolina. Youth activist Ashley Williams demanded that the Democratic presidential candidate account for inconsistencies in her record on race, specifically around comments she made about crime in 1996. Williams said she and a colleague, whom she did not identify, contributed $500 to attend the Clinton event, which was held at a private residence and was attended by around 100 guests.

Hillary Clinton Speech Interrupted By Black Student Activists

By Julia Craven for Huffington Post - Hillary Clinton was drowned out by student activists while introducing her criminal justice reform platform in Atlanta on Friday. Two of the student activists who interrupted Hillary Clinton's rally Friday at Clark Atlanta University said the title of the event -- "African Americans for Hillary" -- explains why they decided to drown out the presidential candidate's remarks. "That raises a question, because I'm wondering, why it isn't Hillary for African Americans?" Avery Jackson, one of the students, told The Huffington Post. "Because that's the issue. She continues to exploit the spaces that black people value." "She doesn't really express the centering and prioritizing of black issues, which are at the root American issues," he continued. "I think we see that with the campaign -- that she sees the issues of black people outside of the American agenda." Clinton was at the university to unveil her criminal justice reform plan. She has been heavily criticized during the campaign for her past support for tough-on-crime initiatives that facilitated mass incarceration.

America Will Never Hear Full Benghazi Story

By Larry Hancock for WhoWhatWhy.org. Washington, DC - The underlying story of Benghazi is one that cannot and will not be talked about in any open session of Congress. This means that Thursday’s hearing featuring former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was nothing but an exercise in futility. It is the story of a covert CIA operation that was operating from a separate facility in the Benghazi compound that was simply known as the “Annex.” Some two dozen CIA case officers, analysts, translators and special staff were a part of this operation and its security was provided by CIA Global Response Staff (GRS), who had entered the country under diplomatic cover. The CIA’s mission included arms interdiction — attempting to stop the flow of Soviet-era weapons to Central Africa — and very possibly the organization of Libyan arms shipments to vetted insurgent groups on the ground in Syria.

Is #BlackLivesMatter Being Co-opted By The Democrats?

By Glen Ford for Op Ed News - The #BlackLivesMatter organization is now part of the 2016 Democratic Party election machinery, assuming its role as a power broker on behalf of Black people. It's a familiar historical pattern, except for the speed with which the transition has taken place. "The #BLM philosophy is that therapeutic dialogue with members of the power elite is politically more effective than the presentation of core demands." The best thing that could be said about the #BlackLivesMatter Campaign Zero team is that they are an embarrassment, political tourists in the halls of empire. The truth is, however, much worse.

Hillary Clinton Comes Out Against TPP

By Amanda Terkel and Zach Carter for The Huffington Post, WASHINGTON -- Hillary Clinton came out against the Trans-Pacific Partnership Wednesday, breaking with President Barack Obama on the 12-nation trade deal that is set to become a key part of his legacy. "As of today, I am not in favor of what I have learned about it," Clinton told Judy Woodruff of "PBS Newshour." "I have said from the very beginning that we had to have a trade agreement that would create good American jobs, raise wages and advance our national security. And I still believe that's the high bar we have to meet," she said. "I have been trying to learn as much as I can about the agreement. But I'm worried. I'm worried about currency manipulation not being part of the agreement. We've lost American jobs to the manipulations that countries, particularly in Asia, have engaged in.

Why We Disrupted Hillary Clinton On Behalf Of Black Trans Women

By Rian Brown and Angela Peoples in Get Equal - Last week, we disrupted Hillary Clinton’s campaign event in Cleveland, OH, asking her to “divest from private prisons, invest in black trans women.” As representatives of Black Lives Matter and GetEQUAL our ask was strategic and intentional. Since Hillary Clinton makes equality for women a critical tenet of her campaign platform, we demand that Clinton -- and our own movement for black lives -- center the black transgender women so often left out of conversations about gender and racial equity. As cisgender Black women, we are fighting for our trans family: we understand that Black liberation means all Black people, and we resist the idea that anyone is disposable in our work. We are in a state of emergency -- the murder rate of trans women of color, particularly Black trans women, is higher than ever, with at least 20 women murdered since the beginning of 2015. Black trans women make up at least 13 of those killed -- in the state of Ohio alone, 6 trans women have been murdered since 2011.

BLM & GetEQUAL: Clinton, Stand W/ Black Trans Women

By Get Equal - Moments ago, organizers with GetEQUAL and Black Lives Matter disrupted Hillary Clinton’s grassroots campaign event in Cleveland, OH, demanding that she divest from private prisons and invest in the liberation of black transgender women. The organizers interrupted Clinton’s speech in order to name the three black trans women who have been recently murdered in the state of Ohio including Cemia Dove, a black trans woman murdered in Cleveland, carrying signs that read: “Hillary: Divest from Private Prisons, Invest in Black Trans Women.”
