Anti-Coup Rebellion In Eastern Ukraine Completes 10 Years

April 2014 was a pivotal month for the people of the Donbass region in what was then still part of Ukraine. It was then that the governing regime was newly installed in Kiev by a coup d’état on February 20/21embarked on military hostilities against the people of the region. The coup overthrew Ukraine’s elected president and legislature. It sparked rebellion in Crimea, Donbass (Lugansk and Donetsk), and in towns and cities in other regions of eastern and southern Ukraine. The coup installed a pro-Western, anti-Russia government. Police actions by the new regime to suppress opposition to the coup only deepened the rebellions, whose consequences are still felt today.

The Russia–Iran–China Search For A New Global Security Order

The Hegemon has no idea what awaits the Exceptionalist mindset: China has started to decisively stir the civilizational cauldron without bothering about an inevitable array of sanctions coming by early 2025 and/or a possible collapse of the international financial system. Last week, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and his list of delusional US demands was welcomed in Beijing by Foreign Minister Wang Yi and President Xi Jinping as little more than an annoying gnat. Wang, on the record, stressed that Tehran was justified in defending itself against Israel’s shredding of the Vienna Convention when it attacked the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

Odessa Massacre 10 Years On: Neo-Nazis Drowned The City In Blood

This Thursday marked the 10th anniversary of the May 2, 2014 Odessa Trade Unions Building massacre, in which 48 anti-Maidan activists were burned alive by neo-Nazi thugs. The violence, coming soon after Kiev kicked off its ‘anti-terrorist operation’ in the Donbass, demonstrated the new regime’s readiness to drown Ukraine in blood to cling to power. The warm weather of the spring of 2014 was accompanied by the winds of revolutionary fervor across southeastern Ukraine, with activists from across Kharkov, the Donbass, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, Kherson, Nikolayev and Odessa rising up in opposition to the Euromaidan coup in Kiev that had taken place in February.

Russia Freezes Assets Of Largest US Bank

A St. Petersburg court ordered the freezing of funds owned by US banking giant JPMorgan Chase in Russia on Wednesday. The ruling was made in favor of the country’s second-largest lender VTB, which ha filed a lawsuit seeking to recover $439.5 million that is blocked abroad under US-led sanctions. VTB sued JPMorgan and its subsidiaries in the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region on April 17, court filings showed on Monday. The order targeted funds in JPMorgan’s Russian accounts and “movable and immovable property,” including the bank’s stake in a Russian subsidiary.

If Ukraine Loses War, It Will Be The ‘End Of Western Hegemony’

The former prime minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, has lamented that, if NATO ally Ukraine loses its war with Russia, it would mean the end of Western dominance over the world. “If Ukraine falls, it will be a catastrophe for the West; it will be the end of Western hegemony”, Johnson complained. The former Conservative Party leader made these comments in a video and article published on April 12 by the right-wing British tabloid the Daily Mail. Johnson called on NATO members to supply Ukraine with more weapons, arguing that, if Kiev loses to Moscow, “It will be a total humiliation for the West."

Russians Advisors Arrive In Niger; Masses Demand Immediate Withdrawal Of Pentagon Troops

On Saturday April 13, thousands of people gathered in Niamey, the capital of the West African state of Niger, demanding the dismantling of the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) operations inside their country. This demonstration represents an ongoing struggle in several former French colonies to end the economic, political, cultural and military ties to the imperialist powers. In addition to the negative influence from Paris, the U.S. has joined their counterparts in France deploying thousands of military personnel under the guise of fighting “Islamic terrorism”. AFRICOM was launched in February 2008 from its base in Stuttgart, Germany.

House Passes $95 Billion Foreign War Bills

US lawmakers passed a raft of legislation containing some $95 billion in military aid for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, also approving a bill that will allow Washington to hand Kiev assets seized from Russia and pave the way for a ban on TikTok. The aid bills passed by a wide margin after separate votes on Saturday afternoon, with the $61 billion Ukraine legislation approved 311-112. Though a thin majority of Republicans opposed that bill – accounting for all 112 ‘no’ votes, while one GOP rep voted ‘present’ – it was ultimately adopted with bipartisan support.

Could The Russians Seize Congress?

The Russians are coming — or coming back, better put. As the November elections draw near, let us brace for another barrage of preposterous propaganda to the effect Russians are poisoning our minds with “disinformation,” “false narratives,” and all the other misnomers deployed when facts contradict liberal authoritarian orthodoxies. We had a rich taste of this new round of lies and innuendo in late January, when Nancy Pelosi, the California Democrat who served as House speaker for far too long, asserted that the F.B.I. should investigate demonstrators demanding a ceasefire in Gaza for their ties, yes indeedy, to the Kremlin.

Stalled US Weapons Package For Israel Gains Momentum After Iran Attack

In the wake of Iran's retaliatory missile and drone attack on Israel, US President Joe Biden is seeking lawmakers' approval for a stalled funding package that would see Washington send Israel $14 billion in additional military aid. President Joe Biden held a phone call on 15 April, the morning after the Iranian attack on Israeli military bases, with the top Republicans and Democrats in the House and Senate. The White House said Biden "discussed the urgent need for the House of Representatives to pass the national security supplemental as soon as possible."

Russia Launches Criminal Probe Into US, NATO For ‘Financing Terrorism’

The Russian Investigative Committee announced on 10 April it had opened a criminal case against high-ranking officials from the US and other NATO countries for financing terrorism following the attack at a concert hall in Moscow that killed 143 people last month. The committee said that some of the funding for terrorist attacks in Russia allegedly came from Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings, which has links to the family of US President Joe Biden. "It has been established that the funds received through commercial organizations, in particular the Burisma Holdings oil and gas company that is operating in Ukraine, have been used over the past few years to carry out terrorist acts in Russia."

Ukraine Continues Shelling Zaporozhye Nuclear Plant

The radioactive fallout from a disaster at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant would "make Europe pretty much uninhabitable," said Dr. Chris Busby, a veteran chemical physicist with decades of experience studying the health effects of internal ionizing radiation. According to the scientist, the Ukrainian forces shelling the plant probably "don't have the faintest idea" of what they're doing. Zaporozhye is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, with six reactors capable of generating up to six gigawatts of electricity - enough to power more than 1.8 million average European homes.

The Sahel’s ‘Axis Of Resistance’

The emergence of in various geographies is an inextricable byproduct of the long and winding process leading us toward a multipolar world. These two things – resistance to the Hegemon and the emergence of multipolarity – are absolutely complementary. The Axis of Resistance in West Asia – across Arab and Muslim states – now finds as its soul sister the Axis of Resistance spanning the Sahel in Africa, west to east, from Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger to Chad, Sudan, and Eritrea. Unlike Niger, where the change in power against neocolonialism was associated with a military coup, in Senegal, the power change comes straight from the polls.

The United States And ISIS: It’s Complicated

On March 22, gunmen opened fire at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow, killing at least 143 people. Authorities apprehended four suspects who they claim were fleeing towards Ukraine. The attack was only one of a number planned. After receiving international tip-offs, Russian police foiled several other operations. ISIS-K, the Islamic State’s Afghanistan and Pakistan division, immediately took responsibility for the shooting, with Western powers – especially the United States – treating the matter as an open and shut case.

The French Road To Nuclear War

Europe needs to understand that France is leading it down a path of inevitable self-destruction. The American people need to understand that Europe is leading them to the cusp of nuclear annihilation. Since Russian leaders may suspect that Macron is working hand in glove with Washington, the U.S. needs to make its position publicly and unambiguously clear. And if France and the Baltics insist on sending troops into Ukraine, it must also be made clear that such action has no NATO mandate; that Article 5 will not be triggered by any Russian retaliation; and that the U.S. nuclear arsenal, including those nuclear weapons that are part of the NATO deterrent force, will not be employed as a result of any Russian military action against French or Baltic troops.

1999 War On Yugoslavia Opened Path To U.S.-NATO Aggression

Serbian internationalists in the New York City area called for a symbolic demonstration on Sunday, March 24, in front of the United Nations headquarters to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the opening of the U.S.-NATO war on Yugoslavia. They scheduled the action between 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at First Avenue and 43rd Street at Ralph Bunche Park. The organizers support self-determination, not just for Serbia but also for the multinational country of Yugoslavia, which NATO bombs shattered for 78 days starting on March 24, 1999.
