Democratic National Committee Rejects Resolution For Israel Arms Embargo

On Tuesday, Democratic National Committee (DNC) members at the party’s summer meetings rejected Resolution 18, which called for the recognition of a Palestinian state, a ceasefire in Gaza, an arms embargo, and a suspension of military aid to Israel. Instead, members backed a status quo resolution introduced by DNC Chair Ken Martin, which simply called for more aid to be allowed into Gaza and a two-state solution. Despite the support, Martin went on to withdraw the resolution. “I know that there are some who are interested in making changes today, but as we’ve seen, there’s divide in our party on this issue,” said Martin. “This is a moment that calls for shared dialog."

The Deep State’s Burst Appendix

Small wonder that the Deep State tried to keep under lock and key the explosive appendix to Special Counsel John Durham’s anemic May 2023 report on the Russiagate “scandal.” Sen. Charles Grassley, head of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, made it public on Thursday and it became the latest revelation in July to blow open the real scandal behind Russiagate.  It’s small wonder, too, that when Kash Patel won Senate approval to be F.B.I. director, former C.I.A. Director John Brennan, former F.B.I. Director James Comey, and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper “lawyered up.” Clapper told CNN colleague Caitlin Collins last week he’d been lawyered up with “perpetual attorneys, since I left the government in 2017.”

Palestinians Are Not Starving In Gaza; They are Being Starved!

Recently I was listening to an NPR program talking about Palestine and the genocide in Gaza and the point was made that Palestinians in Gaza are starving.  People need to be very clear on this point, Palestinians in Gaza are not starving! I repeat, that’s just not true. Palestinians in Gaza are being starved to death.  This is not a distinction without a difference. It would be appropriate to say that Palestinians are starving if they were the victims of a natural catastrophe or an act of God, such as a drought. One could say that Palestinians are starving if crops could not be grown and grass were burned so the animals could not graze, such as in Sudan.

New York Times Joins White Supremacist In Attacking Mamdani

The elite liberal class are having a collective fit of hysteria at the prospect of Zohran Mamdani becoming mayor of New York City. The hand wringing caused by Mamdani’s victory in the recent Democratic Party primary proves to anyone who wasn’t paying attention, that the people allegedly represented by the democrats in fact have no representation at all. The possibility of even a small amount of liberal reformism is terrifying to the ruling class and that can clearly be seen in the way Mamdani has been treated not just by Democratic Party elected officials who don’t want to support him, but by corporate media as well.

The Anti-Labor Forces Pushing The Abundance Movement

The post-Reconstruction United States has never seen durable progressive change without the labor movement’s involvement. The postwar economy’s rapid, widely distributed gains in material conditions for everyday Americans may be the banner accomplishment, but the movement’s contributions to progress go far further. Working women organized through the labor movement became significant drivers of the suffrage movement. Unions played an essential role in the Civil Rights movement, including the steelworkers and UAW providing crucial support for the March on Washington.

Unable To Reinvent Itself, Democrats Can’t Capitalize On Trump’s Missteps

The DNC owes its stasis to the internecine feud that came to a head with Kamala Harris’ loss to Trump in last year’s general election and which spilled over into the New Year. That split pits party stalwarts against younger progressives who want Democrats to break from the conservative tradition established by Bill Clinton in his 1992 presidential campaign in a misguided effort to “out-Republican the Republicans.” The DNC’s election of new leaders, including 25-year-old David Hogg, as one of four vice chairs, widened the political fissures. A survivor of the 2018 shooting at Parkland High School in Ft. Lauderdale that left 17 dead, Hogg championed gun control, health care reform and a change to the Democrats’ elitist messaging

Bipartisan Lawmakers Push To Limit Trump’s War Powers On Iran

In response to Donald Trump’s recent declaration that the U.S. could become involved in Israel’s attacks on Iran, U.S. lawmakers are pushing efforts to curb the President’s war powers. Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY.) and Ro Khanna (D-CA) are introducing a bipartisan bill that would force Trump to obtain congressional approval to enter the war. “This is not our war,” tweeted Massie. “But if it were, Congress must decide such matters according to our Constitution. I’m introducing a bipartisan War Powers Resolution tomorrow to prohibit our involvement. I invite all members of Congress to cosponsor this resolution.”

Leaving The Democrats For Good

In the movie Network, newsman Howard Beale famously shouted (and made a living from it) “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!” That’s how I feel today. I hate the ugly, angry, and divisive politics of 2025. And I hate the two major parties that have been thrust upon us as the only choices we have. They’re two sides of the same coin, even if they pretend to be polar political opposites. We seem to hear constantly about the “radical left” and the “fascist right.” Nothing could be further from the truth. As background, I was raised in a solid, middle-of-the-road, pro-labor Democratic family. My paternal grandfather kept a framed photo of Franklin Roosevelt on top of the TV until the day he died.

Trump Fascism: A Reality Check

With the second coming of Trump, many who profess left credentials again proclaim fascism is back, after we voted “fascism” out in 2020. Every four years we hear the story: “this election is the most important in our lifetime.” Republicans are the new fascism, Democrats are the lesser evil. No matter corporate interests fund both parties and dictate their policies. No matter Democrat Biden green-lighted the ongoing slaughter in Gaza. No matter Biden deported more than Trump did, no matter every year the police killed more under Biden than Trump. Trump is the Hitler, not Biden. So once again, time for a reality check on actually existing fascism.

Following Kamala’s Script, Maryland Governor Vetoes Reparations Bill

With his veto earlier this month of legislation to study reparations for the descendants of enslaved Africans, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, a Democrat, signaled two things: first, he intends to seek his party’s nomination for the White House in 2028; and secondly, he plans to redeploy the discredited strategy of appealing to white voters by distancing his campaign from African Americans. If recent history is any guide, that dog won’t hunt for Moore, the nation’s lone African American governor, any more than it did for Kamala Harris in her presidential campaign last year or Hilary Clinton in 2016. Both Harris and Clinton cut their teeth as politicians with policies that the African American working class widely regarded as deeply racist; both lost to Donald Trump.

Chris Hedges: Trump’s Useful Idiots

The media, universities, the Democratic Party and liberals, by embracing the fiction of “rampant antisemitism,” laid the groundwork for their own demise. Columbia and Princeton, where I have taught, and Harvard, which I attended, are not incubators of hatred towards Jews. The New York Times, where I worked for fifteen years and which Trump calls “an enemy of the people,” is slavishly subservient to the Zionist narrative. What these institutions have in common is not antisemitism, but liberalism. And liberalism, with its creed of pluralism and inclusiveness, is slated by our authoritarian regime for obliteration.

The Latest Democrat Party Hoggwash

When David Hogg announced that he would actively seek to challenge certain House Democrat incumbents during the 2026 primary election cycle, responses ranged from support, to shock, to chagrin. Making Hogg’s proclamation to, “replace asleep at the wheel Democrats, ” even more controversial is that it was announced just months after he was elected as a Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), the executive arm of the Democrat party. Hogg also expressed his intention to raise $20 million through his Leaders we Deserve group to challenge incumbent Democrats who hold “safe seats” as part of his overarching mechanism to establish a new generation of Democrat Party leaders.

How The GOP Is Saving The Fossil Fuel Industry From Trump

On April 2, so-called Liberation Day, President Trump announced a suite of sweeping tariffs on virtually every country in the world, including some entirely populated by penguins . Of all the nations Trump picked a trade war with, China was set to be hit with the most aggressive tariffs at a rate of 145% for Chinese goods set to be sold in the United States. The announcement of these tariffs, essentially a tax on goods and supplies sold domestically, sent shockwaves through the global economy forcing corporations to scramble to find expedient answers to cope with rising prices and dim economic forecasts.

Exposing The Bernie/AOC ‘Fight Oligarchy’ Tour De Farce

On April 30, 2015, Senator Bernie Sanders, with little to no fanfare and less than 10 media outlets in attendance, announced his intention to seek the presidential nomination of the Democrat Party. The setting, a small enclave near the U.S. capitol building, could not have been less banal - yet what followed certainly took the nation and the Democrat Party by surprise as his candidacy emerged into an undeniable force that jockeyed the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and their preferred candidate, Hillary Clinton, so much that the party resorted to malfeasance and corruption so blatant it forced them to quarantine then DNC chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Shultz, during the 2016 convention in Philadelphia.

The Gabriel Boric Lesson: The Chilean Obama, Traitor Of La Patria Grande

Black America has the term “Uncle Tom” for sellouts. In South America, a “vendepatria” is someone who is willing to sell their homeland to the highest bidder. Simón Bolívar, José Marti and Jan-Jak Dessalin conceived of a united, integrated Americas, or “la patria grande,” “the big fatherland;” and fought against enemies from within and without who sought to break that unity. What can one say in 2025 of a South American president who attacks Caracas more than Washington, D.C., and Havana more than Tel Aviv? What social class and foreign forces does such a president serve when he hides behind “progressive” and “leftist” rhetoric and frequently beckons his credentials as a former “student leader”?
