International Solidarity

Indigenous Solidarity With Palestine

The past two weeks of horrific violence in Gaza resulted from 75 years of Israeli settler colonial dispossession, 56 years of military occupation, and 16 years of an open-air prison for 2.2 million people, half of whom are children. The atrocities of the Israeli apartheid regime in Palestine are relentless, illegal under international law, and consistent with settler-colonial projects globally. It has been heartbreaking and unsurprising to see the colonial powers in Canada, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe line up behind this genocide. Israeli settler colonialism, apartheid, and occupation are only possible because of international support.

Paris: Thousands March Demanding Immediate Ceasefire In Gaza

On October 22, a massive rally of around 30,000 people in solidarity with Palestine was held in the French capital, Paris. The mobilization was organized by a coalition of progressive activists calling for an “immediate ceasefire” and an end to the “massacre in Gaza.” The march was led by the National Collective for a Just and Lasting Peace Between Palestinians and Israelis (CNPJDPI), consisting of members of about 40 progressive movements including trade unions like the General Confederation of Labor (CGT), youth and student groups, anti-imperialist and anti-war advocates, and progressive political parties including La France Insoumise (LFI).

University Students Across The US Walk Out Of Classes For Gaza

On Wednesday, October 25, students across dozens of campuses in North America staged walkouts in protest of Israel’s genocidal war against Gaza. The walkout, taking place at university campuses in the United States and Canada, was organized by the Palestinian Youth Movement. Dissenters, and Students for Justice in Palestine. The students demand an end to Israel’s siege on Gaza, an end to US funding of Israel, and that their universities divest from weapons corporations which supply the Israeli occupation.  Campuses participating in the walkout included Brown University, several City College of New York campuses, Florida State University, Howard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, McGill University, Stanford University, and the University of Chicago.

VU Manufacturing shut down the newly unionized facility along the Mexico-US border in August, while 71 workers were still in their employ.

Thousands Across Morocco Hit The Streets For Palestine

Since October 7, various cities in Morocco have witnessed mass vigils and marches condemning the Israeli occupation’s aggression against Gaza. The demonstrators have expressed their strong condemnation of the barbarism of the occupation and the targeting of civilians in Gaza with the support of the United States and Western countries. Protesters are also demanding an end to Morocco’s normalization agreement with Israel and the closure of Israel’s liaison office in Rabat. The actions come in response to calls launched by the Moroccan Front to Support Palestine and Against Normalization and the National Action Group for Palestine.

Pro-Palestine Protest Attacked In Minneapolis

Minneapolis, MN — An older white man drove his vehicle through pro-Palestinian protesters and brandished both a box cutter and a knife on Sunday afternoon. The attack is part of a rising trend of violence on protesters and came as thousands of people held a busy Minneapolis intersection performing a “die-in” for the thousands of Palestinians being killed in the deadly Israeli bombardment of Gaza that followed the Oct. 7 Hamas attack. The protest at the intersections of Hennepin Avenue and Lyndale Avenue in Minneapolis, near the Walker Art Center, was the second large gathering there in recent days and at least the fourth pro-Palestinian protest in the Twin Cities area that has drawn thousands of protesters in the last two weeks.

Europe Rallies In Solidarity With Palestine

As bombing of Gaza by Israel continues for the second week without any pause, the people across Europe stepped up their solidarity initiatives with the people of Palestine and condemned the European states’ support of the war crimes committed by the apartheid regime in Israel. Massive solidarity rallies were held across the UK on October 14, where more than a hundred thousand people turned up. Mobilizations have also taken place in the cities of Dublin, Amsterdam, Brussels, Athens, Madrid, Oslo, and Lisbon, and in major cities across Italy, and Sweden. The bombing and killing of at least 500 people at Al-Ahli Arab Hospital by the Israeli occupation forces in central Gaza late on October 17 sparked widespread outrage among the people and further actions were called out across Europe demanding an immediate cease-fire.

NYPD Brutally Attacks Peaceful Pro-Palestine Protest In Brooklyn

As part of a nationwide day of action, thousands of people from all over New York City gathered today in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn to demand an end to the U.S.-sponsored genocide in Palestine. Organized by Within Our Lifetime and other organizations, the march was made up of pro-Palestinian activists, union members, leftists, and many families from the Palestinian and Middle Eastern communities. Groups of teenagers jumped up and down, chanting “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!”

Demonstrators In London Call To End Israeli Occupation

As the war between Israel and occupied Palestine escalates to terrifying heights, thousands of demonstrators swarmed central London earlier this week to show solidarity with Palestinians, to call for an end to the Israeli Occupation, and to demand that the Israeli military cease its relentless bombing of civilians in Gaza. “We only know what we see on television,” Sarah Callaway told TRNN during the demonstration, “but it looks like the Second World War, it looks catastrophic, and it really looks like the Israeli government is trying to do a genocide on Palestinian people.” Nadia Péridot reports on the ground from London.

No Business As Usual At Rally In Solidarity With Gaza

As people got off work on Thursday evening, October 19, the street in front of the Federal Building in San Francisco swelled with a spirited crowd chanting, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” An ocean of demonstrators had stopped traffic as Homeland Security police looked on and a helicopter hovered overhead. With less than 24 hours’ notice, the “All Out for Gaza” emergency protest amassed two to three thousand demanding an end to the siege on Gaza and an immediate cessation of US aid to Israel. Organizers included Al-Awada, Arab Resource and Organizing Center, Jewish Voice for Peace, Party for Socialism and Liberation, Palestinian Youth Movement, and Workers World Party.

Across The United States, People Take Action For Palestinian Liberation

On Friday, October 13, 70 Palestine solidarity activists answered the Palestinian Resistance’s call for a global day of action by attending the weekly Justice for Palestine vigil hosted by Women Against Military Madness (WAMM) on a busy intersection near Macalester College. The pouring rain did not stop protesters from coming to express their outrage at the U.S. funding and unconditional support for the horrific, genocidal war being waged by Israel on Gaza, Palestine. With the Palestinian flag flying, activists held banners and signs such as “End to U.S. aid to Israel,” “Stop bombing Gaza,” “Stop killing Palestinians” and “Let Palestine live!” The demonstrators chanted loudly, “Resistance is justified when Palestine is occupied,” “Netanyahu you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide”, and “Gaza, Gaza don’t you cry, Palestine will never die!”

Palestinians’ Legal Right To Resist; Their Fight And Showing Solidarity

On October 7, Hamas fighters broke out of Gaza, the world's largest open air prison, and directly attacked the Israeli State, including military facilities, illegal settlements and airports. Israeli Occupying Forces responded with sophisticated weaponry targeting civilian housing in Gaza and schools and hospitals where people sought refuge. Israel has now stopped all water, power and aid to Gaza. To understand what is happening and Palestinian rights under international law, Clearing the FOG speaks with Dr. Mazin Qumsiyeh, who resides in Bethlehem. In support of Palestinians' right to resist, massive rallies and marches are taking place around the world. Clearing the FOG also speaks with Priscilla Lynch and Clara Wagner about their direct action last week targeting L3 Harris, which provides military equipment to Israel, as part of a campaign by Demilitarize Western Mass.

Over Ten Thousand March For Palestine In Historic New York Action

These days may be remembered as a turning point for the Palestine solidarity movement in the United States. Despite every effort by the most powerful people in New York City, over 10,000 protesters courageously marched to demand freedom for Palestine. Starting in Times Square, the massive crowd made it clear where the people stand. The politicians and generals who are rushing to guarantee limitless support and weaponry to Israel as it carries out a massacre in Gaza of massive proportions do not speak for the people of this country. The people are for Palestine!

Israel Tells 1.1 Million Gazans To Evacuate In Under 24 Hours

On the seventh day of its war in the besieged Gaza Strip, Israeli occupation forces ordered over 1.1 million Palestinians in the northern parts of the territory to evacuate their homes and move to the south in the next few hours on Friday, October 13. Israel claimed it may launch a ground offensive to clear Hamas operatives who are allegedly hiding in the territory, AP reported. The Israeli ultimatum includes the UN staff and all the shelters run by them for the Gazans who were displaced in Israeli bombings in the last seven days. The order has raised the fear of a looming ethnic cleansing of Gaza and expulsion of over a million Palestinians from their homes.
