US Teen Mohammed Ibrahim Released From Israeli Prison

Israeli authorities have freed Palestinian American teenager Mohammed Ibrahim after more than nine months of detention, in a case that advocates say embodies Israeli abuses against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. Mohammed’s release on Thursday came after a months-long pressure campaign from United States lawmakers and civil rights groups. The teenager from Florida was 15 years old in February when he was arrested and taken from his family home in the town of al-Mazraa ash-Sharqiya, near Ramallah. He turned 16 while being held in Israeli jail, where he drastically lost weight and contracted a skin infection.

The Seven Richest Billionaires Are All Media Barons

Trump loyalist and CIA contractor Larry Ellison’s purchase of CNN appears imminent, and marks the latest venture into media for the world’s second-richest individual. But Ellison is not alone. Indeed, the world’s seven richest individuals are all now powerful media barons, controlling what the world sees, reads, and hears, marking a new chapter in oligarchical control over society and striking another blow at a free, independent press and diversity of opinion. Paramount Skydance– an Ellison-owned company– is in pole position to purchase Warner Brothers Discovery, a conglomerate that controls gigantic film and television studios, streaming services like HBO Max and Discovery+, franchises like DC Comics, and TV networks such as HBO, TNT, Discovery Channel, TLC, Food Network, and CNN.

For Supporting Trump’s Gaza Plan, Arab States Cash In

The ceasefire agreement that came into effect last month has revealed the contours of Israel-Arab relations, and the political leverage Arab states hold in Washington. It also underscored that Israel could not have achieved its military gains in the region, nor carried out the genocide in Gaza, without cooperation and political cover from several Arab states. Since the outset, these states have sought to extract political and strategic advantages from the devastation. The Saudi crown prince's White House visit last week further reflected this strategy.

After The Ceasefire: What Next For Global Solidarity With Palestine?

Despite Hamas and Israel agreeing on a ceasefire on October 10, the genocide in the Gaza Strip has only slowed down. United States President Donald Trump’s “peace plan” does not address the Israeli structural violence that still exists against Palestinians, and there has been no real movement or action from governments to hold the architects of the genocide accountable for their crimes. Although the daily massacres – averaging about 100 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip – have lessened, the mechanisms of oppression are still firmly in place: the territory remains blockaded, and Israeli aerial and artillery attacks persist with minimal resistance from world governments.

Report: Trump-Led ‘Board Of Peace’ Considers ‘Expropriating’ Gaza Land

Following the passage of a UN resolution authorizing the US plan for post-war Gaza, President Donald Trump's so-called "Board of Peace" is considering 'expropriating" land from Palestinian owners displaced from the Israeli-controlled half of the strip, Haaretz reported on 23 November. Citing US officials and diplomats, the Israeli newspaper said the Board of Peace, headed by Trump, would be a "cornerstone" of the US plan for Gaza. "As outlined in the United Nations Security Council resolution adopted this week, the Board of Peace will coordinate the delivery of humanitarian assistance and facilitate Gaza's development," one US official said.

International Israeli Occupying Forces Volunteers: Today’s ‘Sniper Tourists’

“I think those are bullet holes.” Those were the first words I muttered to my classmate on the bus into Sarajevo, Bosnia, during a brief visit in 2019. We had flown in from Frankfurt, Germany, as part of a study abroad program researching the interactions between the European Union (EU) and the post-Yugoslav and post-Soviet spheres. The program, as we quickly learned, amounted more to a lesson in how the German-dominated EU exploited the people of former communist projects for its own economic gain. Still, in the moment, all we could think of was how beautiful and, at the same time, damaged the city we were entering truly was.

The Ongoing Battle Over Israel Within The US Labor Movement

This year, on the eve of International Workers’ Day, General Federation of Trade Unions in Gaza, published a call to the U.S. labor movement. “This war would not have been possible without the unlimited U.S. support for the occupation, whether through military funding, political and diplomatic backing, or arms deals that kill our children, women, and elderly every day,” it read. “The U.S. administration under Trump has continued what the previous administration started, becoming a direct accomplice in genocide, ignoring the voices of millions inside and outside of the United States, and an overwhelming majority of the nation, who reject this brutal aggression.”

Did Germany Mislead The World Court?

Since April 2024, Germany has been on trial before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague. Nicaragua had filed a case against the Federal Republic, accusing it of complicity in the genocide in Gaza. As has now become known, German representatives may have made false statements in their very first testimony before the ICJ in April 2024, concerning the arms exports delivered to Israel. As Drop Site News (DSN) and the liberal German magazine Stern reported in a joint article, there are now serious doubts about Germany’s statements. They cite comments from the German Defense Ministry, obtained through a press law procedure before a German administrative court.

Saudi Arabia Just Said No To Israel And The United States

The United States is trying to shape the Middle East in the image it wants. From pushing through its plan for Gaza at the United Nations, to pulling Syria and Saudi Arabia closer into its orbit, President Trump may soon get the Middle East that he desires. However, he will not get it all his own way, as forces from Iran, Yemen, and across the region still oppose Trump’s plans and fight against it. All the while, Israel continues to expand its control of its neighbors. This week, it has been stepping up bombing campaigns against targets in Lebanon from its bases in the occupied south of the country.

Breaking Out Of Media Group-Think

The past two years have seen a catastrophic failure by Western journalists to report properly what amounts to an undoubted genocide in Gaza. This has been a low point even by the dismal standards set by our profession, and further reason why audiences continue to distrust us in ever greater numbers. There is a comforting argument — comforting especially for those journalists who have failed so scandalously during this period — that seeks to explain, and excuse, this failure. Israel’s exclusion of Western reporters, so the claim goes, has made it impossible to determine exactly what is occurring on the ground in Gaza.

Report: US Mercenary Firm Behind Aid Massacres Returning To Gaza

UG Solutions, a US military subcontractor that guarded Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid sites, is ramping up recruitment for a new deployment as plans advance for 12 to 15 distribution locations to reopen in Gaza next month, Drop Site News reported on 19 November. A former US Army officer, who spoke anonymously citing security concerns, said a UG Solutions recruiter told him in late October that the company “was going to need a lot more guys” for a Gaza operation expected to begin in early to mid-December. The officer was offered $800 per day for static guard duty and $1,000 for mobile roles, plus a steady allowance of $180 per day.

The United Nations Embraces Colonialism

More than two years into the genocide in Palestine, the UN Security Council has finally acted. But rather than acting to enforce international law, protect the victims, and hold the perpetrators accountable, it adopted a resolution that openly flouts key provisions of international law, disempowers and further punishes the victims, and rewards and empowers the perpetrators.  Most disturbingly, it hands control of Gaza and the survivors of the genocide over to the United States, a co-perpetrator of the genocide, and provides for the participation of the Israeli regime in decision making.

Chris Hedges Report: The Palestine Laboratory

Filmmaker, author and journalist Antony Loewenstein documents how Israel has used Gaza as a weapons showcase. Spyware, killer drones, robot dogs and other weapons are debuted in Gaza and field-tested on the civilian population, demonstrating their effectiveness to regimes around the world that await their chance to purchase them. Loewenstein joins host Chris Hedges on this episode of The Chris Hedges Report to chronicle what he has learned from writing The Palestine Laboratory: How Israel Exports the Technology of Occupation Around the World and producing The Palestine Laboratory, a documentary based on the book.

Palestinians In Gaza Reject UN Security Council Approval Of Trump’s Plan

The UN Security Council voted on Monday in favor of a U.S.-backed resolution establishing an “International Stabilization Force” (ISF) in Gaza under a “Board of Peace” headed by U.S. President Donald Trump. Under a two-year mandate, the stabilization force is reportedly planned to have an “executive” role in Gaza, not just as a peacekeeping force. The ISF is being established under Chapter 7 of the UN Charter, which means it is being granted the authority to disarm Palestinian resistance factions, aligning with Israeli demands, and could be established unilaterally, without the approval of the Palestinians. The UN Security Council resolution voted 13-0 in favor of the resolution, with two permanent members, Russia and China, abstaining from the vote.

UN Security Council Gives US ‘Mandate’ Over Palestine

The United Nations Security Council on Monday adopted a resolution that gives the world body’s imprimatur to Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza, a territory he said publicly should be ethnically cleansed to develop a Mediterranean resort. The council voted 13 nations in favor with two abstentions from China and Russia, which could have vetoed Trump’s plans. The resolution essentially revives the colonial mandate system of the League of Nations after the First World War, and the United Nations’ trusteeship system after the Second World War, both schemes in which colonial powers remained in charge of a colonized territory while it was supposed to wean it towards independence.
