Major American LNG Exporters Habitually Break Air Pollution Laws

During the past five years, all seven of the fully operational LNG export terminals in the U.S. violated the Clean Air Act, America’s cornerstone law on air pollution, a new report from the Environmental Integrity Project (EIP) finds. The report comes as the Trump administration has moved to accelerate the approval of new export terminals to sell more U.S. LNG around the world, particularly to Asia and Europe. Several major terminals rarely, if ever, managed to spend a full quarter in compliance with environmental laws over the past three years, the report found.

National Guard Members: ‘I Won’t Turn Against My Neighbors’

Chicago — Two Illinois National Guard members told CBS News they would refuse to obey federal orders to deploy in Chicago as part of President Trump's controversial immigration enforcement mission — a rare act of open defiance from within the military ranks. "It's disheartening to be forced to go against your community members and your neighbors," said Staff Sgt. Demi Palecek, a Latina guardswoman and state legislative candidate from Illinois's 13th District. "It feels illegal. This is not what we signed up to do." Both Palecek and Capt. Dylan Blaha, who is running for Congress in the same district, described growing unease among Guard members after the White House federalized 500 troops.

US Deploys Aircraft Carrier And Threatens Invasion Of Venezuela

As the US continues to escalate threats and military pressure against Venezuela and now Colombia as well. On Friday, October 24, “Secretary of War” Pete Hegseth announced the deployment of aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78), to the Caribbean. The most capable and lethal strike platform in the world adds to the already massive military buildup in the Caribbean of 10,000 US troops, at least eight war ships, P-8 surveillance planes, and F-35 jets deployed amid the Trump administration’s alleged counter-narcotics operations. US troops are also reportedly deploying to Trinidad and Tobago, mere miles from Venezuela, for five days of coordinated “military exercises”.

Dallas Residents On The Front Lines Of Trump’s War Against ‘Antifa’

On the night of July 4, 2025, Meagan Morris and Autumn Hill departed the Dallas home they shared with several others to go to an immigrant solidarity protest. This was no small thing for either of the two housemates. A 41-year-old transgender woman, Meagan had been out of work since her collapsed neck vertebrae forced her to leave her job at UPS. Autumn had little political experience save for volunteering for a local nonprofit and once marching in a Pride parade. But with the Trump administration conducting violent immigration raids across the country in service of Trump’s mass deportation agenda, both Morris and Autumn Hill wanted to head to Alvarado for a “noise demo” outside the 700-bed Prairieland Detention Center.

Ground Zero In Conservative Quest For Patriotic And Christian Public Schools

The future that the Trump administration envisions for public schools is more patriotic, more Christian and less “woke.” Want to know how that might play out? Look to Oklahoma. Oklahoma has spent the past few years reshaping public schools to integrate lessons about Jesus and encourage pride about America’s history, with political leaders and legislators working their way through the conservative agenda for overhauling education. Academics, educators and critics alike refer to Oklahoma as ground zero for pushing education to the right. Or, as one teacher put it, “the canary on the prairie.” By the time the second Trump administration began espousing its “America First” agenda, which includes the expansion of private school vouchers and prohibitions on lessons about race and sex, Oklahoma had been there, done that.

The CDC Diaspora Fights Back

Atlanta, Georgia - The scientists gathering inside a cavernous convention hall here this week weren’t chanting or carrying protest signs or wearing frog costumes. But over the course of four days, they engaged in what felt like their own brand of political resistance. They were there for IDWeek, the annual gathering of professional societies that work on infectious diseases. And in many ways the meeting was like any other medical conference. Participants attended mostly narrow, technical lectures on topics like tuberculosis, HIV, and tropical diseases—one session had the title of “Big Beasts of Clinical Mycology”—with occasional breaks for networking at receptions and strolling among the vendors in the exhibit hall.

Chris Hedges Report: The Rise Of The Thielverse

The descent into a new, mutated and technology-focused form of American fascism is already here. Those who have kept track of the rise of the Thielverse, which includes figures such as Peter Thiel, Elon Musk and JD Vance, have understood that an agenda to usher in a unique form of authoritarianism has been slowly introduced into the mainstream political atmosphere. Whitney Webb, investigative journalist and author of One Nation Under Blackmail, joins host Chris Hedges on this episode of The Chris Hedges Report to document the rise of this cabal into the most powerful positions of the American government.

Trump Fails To End His Proxy War With Russia

It there any politician who is less reliable than U.S. President Donald Trump? At the August summit in Anchorage with President Vladimir Putin of Russia Trump had aimed at a ceasefire along the frontline in Ukraine. But Putin made clear that the war required a long term solution of the underlying problem, NATO enlargement, and that a preliminary ceasefire would not be helpful in that regard. Russia also demanded full control of the Donbas and other regions. Trump did agree to that and announced it as the brilliant result of the talks. This was his first turn on the issue.

Due Process And Trump-Ordered Murder

President Donald Trump’s use of the U.S. military to kill persons on speed boats in international waters, or in territorial waters claimed by other sovereign nations — all 1,500 miles from the U.S. — has posed grave issues of due process. The U.S. Constitution’s guarantee of due process requires it for every person, not just Americans. The operative language of the Fifth Amendment is that “No person … shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law.” The Trump administration has claimed that it can kill whomever it designates as an unlawful enemy combatant — it prefers the political phrase “narco-terrorist” — and the due process it provides is the intelligence gathered by American spies and the White House analysis of that intelligence.

Trump: US Strikes On Alleged Drug Shipments On ‘Land’ Are Coming Soon

President Trump on Wednesday suggested that US strikes on alleged drug shipments “on land” could be coming soon amid the US bombing campaign targeting boats in Latin America. Trump has made similar comments before, and according to multiple media reports, the US is preparing to bomb Venezuela with the goal of ousting Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and is using cracking down on drug trafficking as a pretext. The president claimed to reporters at the White House that he had “legal authority” to launch the strikes, but Congress hasn’t authorized the bombing campaign, which the Constitution requires for launching a war.

‘Newspeak’ Comes To The Energy Department

In George Orwell’s novel, 1984, a totalitarian regime now rules the homeland and operates by three slogans: 1) War is peace, 2) freedom is slavery and 3) ignorance is strength. In 1984 the term “Newspeak” refers to what is essentially a mandatory style guide for using the English language under that regime by substituting Newspeak formulations for common words and phrases so as to make public discourse conform to the ruling party’s orthodoxy. (For a list Newspeak words and phrases, check here.) Not surprisingly, failure to conform to this style in written and oral communications is considered a crime. In fact, to think thoughts contrary to those expressed in Newspeak terms is considered a “thoughtcrime” because it implies one’s personal values are not in harmony with official party dogma.

As Trump Escalates ICE Raids, Local Community Defense Networks Grow

The Trump administration has pledged to continue ramping up the controversial operations to detain and deport immigrants. Yet, as his threats intensify, the movement in defense of immigrant rights is rapidly growing and taking shape from the grassroots. In Chicago, people are standing up to federal agents armed and ready to deploy tear gas and pepper spray. Army veterans in Portland are urging federal troops to disobey Trump’s orders, and in Colorado, residents are rejecting the conversion of several private prisons into ICE detention centers.

How Chicago Residents Are Resisting ICE Invasion Of The City

If there’s one thing President Donald Trump and the people of Chicago might agree on, it’s that America’s third-largest city is currently a “war zone.” But for most Chicagoans, it’s the Trump administration that has made it so, with its military-style “Operation Midway Blitz,” led by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and “Operation At Large,” which Customs and Border Protection (CBP) launched in Los Angeles and brought to the Windy City in September. “I have lived here for 28 years and I have never felt so profoundly unsafe until this week,” one resident recently posted on social media.

Chicago Residents ‘Refuse To Budge’ As ICE Terrorizes Communities

From hunting people down through the aisles of retail stores, to intentionally crashing into a vehicle on a residential street and then deploying tear gas against a gathered crowd of residents and protesters, agents with the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement have been wreaking havoc in Chicago as part of their “Operation Midway Blitz”. According to the Department of Homeland Security, federal agents have made more than 1,500 arrests in the greater Chicago area since September 8 when the operation was announced – although data reveals some of these arrests to be outside of the state of Illinois.

No To US State Terrorism In The Caribbean Sea

Organization for the Victory of the People (OVP) rejects the false narrative peddled by the Trump Administration, claiming that President Nicolas Maduro and his administration are connected to drug trafficking into the United States. The world is tired of US imperialism’s playbook, creating false flags and narratives in order to initiate wars and orchestrate regime change. President Ali and the PPP Government, in collusion with the Trump Administration, are leading Guyana in a direction that can only bring us chaos and catastrophe. War with our neighbor can never be in our best interest. The current dispute between Guyana and Venezuela, while framed as a territorial dispute, is related to much larger and more menacing issues.
