Launching A Global Campaign Against The Insurers Of Israel’s Genocide

This September, activist groups across five continents plan to strike two of the world’s most powerful insurance companies: AXA and AIG. Together, they are launching a powerful wave of global resistance with a synchronised campaign of disruption. The aim is to expose the companies’ role in fueling genocide, climate destruction, and social collapse. Under the banner ‘Insure Our Survival‘, thousands of campaigners in Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas will take action from 8 September. Organisers are calling the wave of action a “coordinated global backlash” against the insurance giants underwriting fossil fuel expansion and weapons war criminal states are using in mass atrocities – particularly in Palestine.

Italian Dockworkers Block Passage Of Saudi Ship Carrying Arms For Israel

Workers in the Italian port of Genoa have blocked passage of a Saudi vessel carrying weapons shipments for Israel. The Bahri Yanbu, operated by Saudi shipping firm Bahri, which arrived from Baltimore, Maryland, was slated to take on military hardware made by Italian arms giant Leonardo — including an Oto Melara cannon destined for Abu Dhabi – along with tanks or other heavy weaponry reportedly already positioned in the terminal yard. Routine inspections revealed that the ship was carrying weapons and ammunition for Israel after 40 dock workers boarded the vessel. “We don’t work for war,” said Jose Nivoi from the Autonomous Collective of Port Workers and the Union Sindicale di Base, adding that the Port Authority has promised talks for establishing “permanent observatory on arms trafficking.”

Friends of The Hague Group (FoTHG) launched in Bogotá on July 17, 2025, to support multilateral efforts like that of The Hague Group (THG) to end the Israeli genocide and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people, and to ensure that all such efforts be grounded in the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including: the right to self-determination; the right of return for all Palestinian refugees and deportees forcibly displaced since 1948; and the right to full reparation, including restitution, compensation, satisfaction, and guarantees of non-repetition. FoTHG is guided by the demands of Palestinian Civil Society convening organizations, and prioritizes the leadership of FoTHG founding international organizations based in the Global South.

In that communication we made the argument that because of the ongoing genocide and the role of the U.S. as a facilitator of that genocide, as well as the unsafe and hostile conditions in the U.S. that has compelled a number of nations to issue advisories against travel to the U.S., we called on FIFA to ban the United States and Israel from hosting and participating in international competition, and to relocate the 2025 World Cup from the United States.

As Israel prepares for a full occupation of Gaza, foreign journalists have renewed calls to be allowed into the besieged strip. More than 600 journalists and media organizations have signed a petition released Monday by Freedom to Report (FTR) demanding "immediate, unsupervised foreign press access" to Gaza, which they said is "the worst press blackout in modern conflict." "This is not a call to be heard," said the renowned war photographer André Liohn, FTR's founder. "We demand that independent, professional journalists be allowed into Gaza. What's happening today is not only a humanitarian blackout but also an information blackout, and it must end."

The flag of Israel represents the greatest human rights disaster in modern history, yet has flown proudly at the Broome County Correctional Facility by order of Sheriff Akshar. His dedication to Trump's unconstitutional actions has also made Broome County one of the leading penal camps for immigrants in New York State.  For over 600 days the Israeli flag flew over our county jail. It was a flagrant display of a Sheriff knowingly engaging in a divisive, illegal act in violation of New York State Public Building Law.   New York State Law forbids a foreign flag from flying over public property. The actual wording of the law states, “It shall not be lawful to display the flag or emblem of any foreign country upon any state, county or municipal building; provided, however, that whenever any foreigner shall become the guest of the United States, the state or any city, upon public proclamation by the governor or mayor of such city, the flag of the country of which such public guest shall be a citizen may be displayed upon such public buildings.”

August 4, 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of Operation Storm. Little known outside the former Yugoslavia, the military campaign unleashed a genocidal cataclysm that violently expelled Croatia’s entire Serb population. Dubbed “the most efficient ethnic cleansing we’ve seen in the Balkans” by Swedish politician Carl Bildt, Croat forces rampaged UN-protected areas of the self-declared Serb Republic of Krajina, looting, burning, raping and murdering their way across the province. Up to 350,000 locals fled, many on foot, never to return. Meanwhile, thousands were summarily executed. As these hideous scenes unfolded, UN peacekeepers charged with protecting Krajina watched without intervening. Meanwhile, US officials strenuously denied the horrifying massacres and mass displacement amounted to ethnic cleansing, let alone war crimes.

The Israeli war cabinet met on Monday to decide on the next phase of Israel’s war on Gaza. The meeting was reportedly to choose between ending the war in favor of ceasefire talks or expanding it to reoccupy the entire Strip. According to initial unconfirmed reports, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has briefed “friendly journalists” that he has ordered the Israeli army to “conquer Gaza” in the face of opposition from the army’s Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir. Netanyahu’s office reportedly told N12: “The decision has been made — Israel is going to conquer the Gaza Strip.”

‘Largest Civilian Flotilla In History’ To Set Sail For Gaza

Activists from 44 countries plan to launch the largest civilian flotilla in history at the end of August in an effort to break Israel’s siege on Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid to the starving population of the enclave.  The Global Sumud Flotilla, along with three allied initiatives, will send dozens of boats from Spanish ports on 31 August and Tunisian ports on 4 September, aiming to establish a humanitarian corridor and confront what organizers call Israel’s genocide against Palestinians. “This summer, dozens of boats, both large and small, will set sail from ports across the world, converging on Gaza in the largest civilian flotilla of its kind in history,” said organizer Haifa Mansouri.

Thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators in Australia marched across the Sydney Harbour Bridge on Sunday as part of a rally calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and humanitarian aid to be allowed into the enclave, Anadolu reports. While weekly marches have taken place every Sunday since October 2023, this is the first time the Palestine Action Group has held its protest on Sydney’s iconic bridge. The Palestine Action Group Sydney organized the March for Humanity, calling on “everyone, every individual and every organisation, who cannot bear to do nothing in the face of this atrocity, to join with us.”

From 15–16 July 2025, thirty states met in Bogotá, Colombia at an Emergency Conference on Palestine, which was convened jointly by Colombia and South Africa as co-chairs of the Hague Group. The Hague Group, which began organizing in January 2025, formed as a bloc of countries to coordinate legal and diplomatic measures in solidarity with the Palestinian people. The Hague Group is compromised of Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Honduras, Malaysia, Namibia, and South Africa. The Bogotá conference in July brought together additional countries from across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. In response to Israel’s continuing and intensified genocide of Palestinians, conference participants unanimously agreed “that the era of impunity must end—and that international law must be enforced without fear or favour through immediate domestic policies and legislation.”
