Filipinos Reject Israeli Tourism Amid The Gaza Genocide

Siargao seems like the most unlikely place where the ongoing genocide in Gaza might enter public discourse. A small island in the Philippines’ Mindanao region, it is best known as a top international surfing destination. It has a reputation for being laid-back, slow-paced, and largely tolerant of the influx of outsiders despite the rapid changes they have brought to island life. In the past several months, things have changed.   In mid-2024, as the genocide in Gaza intensified, a number of local Filipinos in Siargao began to show their support for a free Palestine in small ways. Some covered over Israeli stickers posted in public spaces with their own Free Palestine messages. Others talked about holding a protest event—a plan that fizzled out.

Socialist Movement Of Ghana Renews Commitment To Pan-African Unity, Socialist Transformation

Convened under the theme, “Imperialism in Crisis: Pan-African Solidarity and Socialist Transformation,” the Second National Delegates Congress of the Socialist Movement of Ghana (SMG) concluded on Sunday, September 21, at the Amílcar Cabral School in Agynoa, Aburi. Bringing together 300 delegates from across Ghana, the Congress discussed the national and international situation, reviewed the work of the movement’s youth and women’s wings, and strengthened the organization’s constitution. The Congress recognized that global capitalism, particularly its neoliberal form, was in a profound crisis. Delegates argued that the “system’s reliance on exploiting labor, extracting resources, and concentrating wealth inevitably led to inequality, environmental destruction, international chaos and imperialist wars.”

The Peoples Conference For Palestine: Another Step Forward

The well-organized Palestine conference in Detroit brought over 4600 there, with a heavy Palestinian presence. Most of the speakers in the plenaries were genuine Palestinian activists tested in battle, not well-known writers or professors. The over 270 journalists who have been targeted and murdered for informing the world of the endless US-Israeli slaughter of civilians were honored throughout the three days that included over 20 sessions and plenaries, exhibits, including Palestinian cultural performances, a grand vendor fair and art exhibits.  It was made clear that Israel is the US garrison state in the Middle East, out to break the Palestinian people’s resistance.

As War Ships Arrive; Defend Venezuela Against US Attack

On August 8, President Donald Trump declared that, on the basis of the discredited and fake “War on Drugs,” the U.S. reserved the option to engage in military action in any country, anywhere. In addition, Trump announced that he increased a bounty for the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro from $25 million to $50 million. Following these announcements, the Pentagon war machine moved into action and U.S. warships set sail for the Caribbean. The working class, anti-war, anti-imperialist movement and all movements for social justice and change in the United States have a responsibility to prepare for combating every U.S. war move. Today we must focus attention on the growing threat of a U.S. attack on Venezuela.

Global Day Of Solidarity With Venezuela Against US Interventionism

The Global Day of Solidarity with Venezuela and for Peace in Latin America and the Caribbean was held in locations around the world. On Saturday, August 30, mass organizations, political parties, and social movements from various countries united under the slogan “Venezuela is not a threat, Venezuela is a hope” to express their support for Venezuela and peace in Latin America. The solidarity event comes in response to the recent interventionist actions and threats by the United States Government against the Venezuelan people and government, which include the deployment of military vessels in the Caribbean Sea as an excuse for intervention and destabilization, as well as the increase of a bounty on President Nicolás Maduro’s head, whom the US falsely accuses of association with drug trafficking.

Launching A Global Campaign Against The Insurers Of Israel’s Genocide

This September, activist groups across five continents plan to strike two of the world’s most powerful insurance companies: AXA and AIG. Together, they are launching a powerful wave of global resistance with a synchronised campaign of disruption. The aim is to expose the companies’ role in fueling genocide, climate destruction, and social collapse. Under the banner ‘Insure Our Survival‘, thousands of campaigners in Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas will take action from 8 September. Organisers are calling the wave of action a “coordinated global backlash” against the insurance giants underwriting fossil fuel expansion and weapons war criminal states are using in mass atrocities – particularly in Palestine.

People’s Summit For Korea Spotlights Role Of US Imperialism

The Summit was organized by Nodutdol and convened by a list of other Korean and U.S.-based groups, including United National Antiwar Coalition (UNAC). Nodutdol describes itself as “an organization of diasporic Koreans and comrades organizing for a world free of imperialism and for Korea’s reunification and national liberation.” With the Summit, Nodutdol — with a majority of members below 30 years of age — galvanized the Korean movement in the U.S. in an anti-imperialist direction. By changing the fulcrum point of its movement from the start of the Korean war in 1950 back to 1945, when U.S. imperialists replaced Japanese imperialists, Nodutdol opened up a whole new range of understanding of the struggle for an independent and united Korea. It’s not just an anti-war struggle but a systemic fight between two class systems.

Thousands Of Pro-Palestine Protesters March Across Sydney Harbour Bridge

Thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators in Australia marched across the Sydney Harbour Bridge on Sunday as part of a rally calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and humanitarian aid to be allowed into the enclave, Anadolu reports. While weekly marches have taken place every Sunday since October 2023, this is the first time the Palestine Action Group has held its protest on Sydney’s iconic bridge. The Palestine Action Group Sydney organized the March for Humanity, calling on “everyone, every individual and every organisation, who cannot bear to do nothing in the face of this atrocity, to join with us.”

Solidarity Statement For Gaza From Wolastoqewi-Mothers, Grandmothers, And Aunties

As Wolastoqewi-Mothers, Grandmothers, and Aunties—keepers of life, memory, and spirit—we speak today not out of anger, but out of deep sorrow and responsibility. Our teachings remind us that every child is sacred, that land is not a possession but a living relative, and that dignity belongs to all peoples, no matter how far from our own homeland they may be. We have long followed a path of non-interference, respecting the sovereignty and self-determination of other nations. This is a principle that has allowed us to survive, to heal, and to remain rooted in our own identity. Yet, there are moments in history when silence becomes too heavy to bear.

Worldwide Actions: Bang Your Pots For Gaza

Activists are urging people worldwide to participate in a "pot-banging" demonstration daily at 6 PM local time, wherever they are, aiming to raise urgent awareness about the escalating famine in Gaza caused by the “Israeli” blockade.  The initiative, dubbed "Pot-Banging for Gaza," calls on participants to bang pots and pans from their windows or balconies for 2-5 minutes to highlight the dire humanitarian crisis caused by what organizers describe as “Israel's” illegal blockade. It was inspired by a viral video shot on Monday in Nuseirat, central Gaza, where hungry children, men, and women banged on their empty pots demanding the opening of crossings.

US Physicians Read Aloud The Searing Testimony Of Desperate Doctors And Patients In Gaza

“I have a cold. And in one hour, I’ll have finished a twenty-four-hour shift, heartbroken again. I lost a cardiac patient because we had no medication. Another patient shot in the head, was left to die slowly because we had no ventilator. A child with a shattered skull and exposed brain matter just died in front of me. I also just found a kidney patient collapsed on the bedroom floor. He had a seizure due to brain damage because he has not had dialysis in three months. A diabetic man hadn’t eaten in four days. He cried when I asked why. I gave him fluids and some money to buy flour.

Don’t Miss People’s Summit For Korea In New York City July 25-27

The struggle for Korea’s sovereignty is at a crossroads. Despite empty gestures toward diplomacy, U.S. imperialism continues to escalate tensions in Korea — expanding war exercises, deepening the Japan-South Korea-U.S. alliance and pushing the peninsula to the brink of war. But our movements are fighting back. This July, join us at The People’s Summit for Korea in New York City to unite across borders and build a collective strategy for liberation. Together, we’ll: Analyze the impact of U.S. imperialism on Korea and the world. Strategize how to advance the fight for peace, sovereignty and collective liberation. Celebrate resistance through cultural performances and collective action.

Palestinian Civil Society Call To Action Ahead Of International Conference

As UN member states prepare to convene in New York on 17 June for the High-Level Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine, co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia, and as France is set to convene selected actors on 13 June with the declared aim of issuing “a clear and urgent call to action to the international community” ahead of the conference, we—the undersigned Palestinian civil society organizations and coalitions in Palestine and in exile—reaffirm our unified demands for a just and lawful resolution grounded in the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.

Next Days Critical In Worldwide Demand That Israeli Genocide Must End

Within 48 hours, 12 brave souls in the Madleen, Flotilla Steering Committee members Thiago Avila – Brazil and Yasemin Acar – Germany;  Rima Hassan – French-Palestinian Member of European Parliament, Dr. Baptiste Andre – France, Omar Faiad – France; Al Jazeera Mubasher correspondent, Pascal Maurieras – France, Reva Viard – France, Yanis Mhamdi – France;  Suayb Ordu – Turkiye; Sergio Toribio – Spain; Greta Thunberg – Swedish climate activist; Marco van Rennes – The Netherlands. will carry the solidarity of citizens of the world to those in Gaza and West Bank for the ending of the genocide and ethnic cleansing. In an Internationalist Act held on Sunday, May 11, during the 5th National Agrarian Reform Fair, the Landless Workers’ Movement (MST) reinforced its role in fostering solidarity between countries facing massacres imposed by imperialism. At the Fair at Parque da Água Branca in São Paulo (SP), representatives from Cuba, Palestine, the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, and Venezuela highlighted the trajectory of resistance in their territories against external oppression and reaffirmed their partnership with the MST in the fight for sovereignty.
