The Fenzel Plan: How The US Engineered The PA’s West Bank Crackdown

The Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority (PA) has initiated an armed crackdown against its own people in the occupied West Bank, a campaign reportedly backed and orchestrated by the United States. While corporate media narratives attempt to distance Washington from the operation, its roots trace back years. On Saturday, PA President Mahmoud Abbas directed the Palestinian Authority Security Forces (PASF) to execute a large-scale operation targeting resistance groups in the embattled Jenin refugee camp. PA spokesperson Brigadier General Anwar Rajab justified the crackdown by accusing these groups of sowing “sedition and chaos,” portraying them as foreign-backed Islamist criminals.

Palestinians Sue State Department Over Failure To Stop Genocide

Five Palestinian families filed a lawsuit against the US State Department on 17 December over Washington’s support for the Israeli military, citing the Leahy Law, which prohibits assistance to foreign military or security forces implicated in human rights violations. The suit was filed in the US District Court for the District of Columbia. It accuses the State Department and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken of deliberately circumventing human rights to allow continued support for Israeli military units accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

Israel’s Genocide Day 437: Israel Intensifies Attacks On Gaza City

The Israeli army issued displacement orders on Sunday to the people of Gaza City, ordering them to move out of several neighborhoods, as Israeli bombings intensified on the city, with Israeli strikes targeting the neighborhoods of Al-Sabra and Sheikh Radwan. Israel’s renewed focus on Gaza City comes as the Israeli siege on the north of Gaza continues for the 70th day, along with intensified raids and bombings on Jabalia and Beit Hanoun. Since October, Israel has been carrying out an operation dubbed ‘The General’s Plan’, aimed at strangling the areas of the Gaza Strip north of Gaza City. According to local sources, many Palestinians in Gaza City haven’t responded to the displacement orders, despite continuous strikes and attempts by the army to push them out of the city.

Israel To Deploy Remotely Operated Machine Guns Against Palestinians

The Israeli army is preparing to deploy automated, remotely monitored machine guns to protect illegal Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank, Israeli Army Radio reported on 15 December. The automated weapons, developed by Rafael Combat Systems, will be installed on watch towers around dozens of settlements and near their entrances. They will be controlled remotely from command centers "to prevent armed attacks and infiltration operations." The same system was installed on the Gaza border in 2008 and operated by spotters in bases. However, it failed to prevent fighters from the Islamic Resistance movement, Hamas, from approaching and breaching the barrier fence to attack settlements and Israeli military bases on 7 October 2023.

Chris Hedges Report: Enduring The Trauma Of Genocide

While the trauma that Palestinians continue to face in Gaza is sustained, brutal and seemingly never-ending, the universal susceptibility to trauma unites humanity as much as it divides the self. Dr. Gabor Maté, renowned physician and expert in trauma and childhood development, illustrates this point articulately on the latest episode of The Chris Hedges Report through attempting to make sense of the psychology, trauma and reason behind the actions of Palestinians, IDF soldiers, WWII survivors, Nazis and even himself.

Indigenous Australian To Take Ex-Netanyahu Spokesperson To ICC

The charge of “advocating genocide” against Australian Mark Regev, a former Israeli ambassador to Britain and spokesman for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, will head to the International Criminal Court after Australia’s prosecution service dropped the case following a diplomatic note from Israel. The charge against Regev was brought initially in a private prosecution by Uncle Robbie Thorpe, an indigenous Krautungalung Elder and human rights advocate. Thorpe charged Regev with aligning himself as a government spokesman with statements made by Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, which the U.N. special rapporteur for the Palestinian occupied territories called genocidal.

Israel’s Genocide Day 433: US National Security Advisor Attends Ceasefire Talks

Israeli forces continued their offensive inside Syria, which began following the collapse of Bashar Al-Assad’s regime last Sunday. Israeli troops breached the demilitarized buffer zone established in 1974 between Syrian-held and Israeli-occupied Syrian territory in the Golan, and occupied new positions in the Golan heights and on Mount Al-Sheikh. Israel’s new advances according to reports included the occupation of nine Syrian towns in the Golan, where Israeli forces forced inhabitants to leave their homes and move deeper into Syria. Israeli tanks continued to advance, reaching up to 18 kilometers inside Syria, approaching the Damascus-Beirut international highway, at no more than 23 kilometers from the Syrian capital.

Israel’s Genocide Day 430: Progress Reported In Ceasefire Talks

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Israel’s dissolution of its commitment to the 1974 forces disengagement agreement with Syria, which ended the 1973 war between the two countries. Netanyahu made his announcement in a televised statement from the occupied Syrian Golan Heights on Sunday. Netanyahu’s declarations came shortly after Israeli forces breached the de-militarized buffer zone between the Israeli-occupied and the Syrian-held territory in the Golan. Israeli forces invaded and took over several positions inside Syrian sovereign territory, including the summit of Mount Al-Sheikh, with no resistance according to Israeli reports.

Palestine Action Shut Down Israel-Supplying Arms Company

Palestine Action have shut down the factory of Leonardo, a company directly complicit in Israel’s genocide in Gaza. But also, by default the Scottish government also has a hand in this – as it funded the corporation to the tune of millions. Palestine Action returned to the Edinburgh premises of weapons firm Leonardo on Tuesday 10 December – using vans to blockade the weapons factory and halt its contributions to Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Scottish activists were secured to each other on top of the vehicles, closing both entry gates to the plant and preventing the manufacture of parts for Israel’s F-35 Fighter Jets.

Why I Resigned As Chairman Of Amnesty Israel

After Amnesty International released a report last Thursday calling the war in Gaza a genocide, Amnesty’s Israeli branch quickly issued a statement saying most of its members don’t believe genocide has occurred. Some in Amnesty Israel alleged the report was biased, arguing for a forgone conclusion. Others went further, claiming that the international movement abandoned its commitment to equality in the first place. But even before the report came out — one week before, to be exact — I resigned my position as chair of the board of Amnesty Israel. I didn’t step down because of the imminent controversy over the conclusions of Amnesty International’s report.

Turkey Takes Aleppo

Before it fell under 20th century Anglo-American colonialism, Syria was the core of the Levant, encompassing (today’s) Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine, the site of multireligious, multicultural cities between which people traveled and traded freely. In the countryside, peasants and herders tended an agricultural and pastoral landscape of olive and orange trees, pasture, forest, and drylands. This region was under the control of the Ottoman Empire for hundreds of years (perhaps Erdogan’s dream is to take some of it back. He’s been accused of “neo-Ottoman” fantasies).

Hamas Accepts Egypt’s Post-War Gaza Proposal Amid Ceasefire Talks

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced on December 6 that it has accepted an Egyptian proposal to form a joint Palestinian social support committee to govern the Gaza Strip after the Israeli genocidal aggression on the besieged enclave ends. The announcement came after Hamas held in-depth talks in Cairo with the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah), which leads the Palestinian Authority. The talks centered around implementing previously agreed-upon frameworks to achieve Palestinian unity. “Hamas conveyed its approval of an Egyptian proposal for forming a community support committee that will function through inclusive national mechanisms,” the movement said in a statement.

Israel’s Genocide Day 426: Israel Bombs Tents In Gaza

Leading international human rights organization Amnesty International has concluded, in a report it released on Wednesday, that Israel was responsible for acts of genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza strip. The group said that it had been analyzing events and statements by Israeli officials for months, concluding that the legal threshold for the crime of genocide has been met. It is the first time that Amnesty has reached such a conclusion during an ongoing conflict. Amnesty’s chief Agnes Callamard said in a statement on Wednesday that “month after month, Israel has treated Palestinians in Gaza as a subhuman group unworthy of human rights and dignity, demonstrating its intent to physically destroy them,” adding that “Our damning findings must serve as a wake-up call to the international community: this is genocide.

Israel’s Genocide Day 423: Israeli Siege Of North Gaza Intensifies

The UN agency responsible for providing humanitarian relief to Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, announced on Sunday that it has suspended receiving and delivering aid to Gaza through the Karam Abu Salem crossing between Israel and Rafah in southern Gaza, the main entry point to the Strip for humanitarian aid. The agency, which is the largest supplier of aid in Gaza, said in a statement that the road for delivering aid to the crossing point has been dangerous for months, especially since the Israeli invasion of Rafah last April. UNRWA also said that several truck drivers and aid delivery workers had been killed or injured, adding that “it can not continue to put their lives at risk.”

President Maduro Calls For Creation Of ‘Powerful Media Network For The People’

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, proposed the creation of a “powerful media network for the truth of the peoples across all continents, with all languages and on all existing social media of today and those that will be born as alternatives.” He made this proposal on Friday, November 29, at the International Conference in Solidarity with Palestine, held in Caracas. He commented that there is a consensus across the world for “the cause of the struggle for freedom and the right to life of the Palestinian people, and we must do more for Palestine, because still there are many people who are misinformed about the brutal genocide that is being broadcast live.”
