Today, there are essentially two Gazas. One is ruled by Hamas as the de facto governing body in the Strip, and makes up about 47% of the territory. The remaining 53% is under the total military control of the Israeli army.
Separating these two zones is an invisible border that’s being called “the Yellow Line,” splitting Gaza roughly in half down the middle. Even though Israel has been placing yellow cement blocks all across Gaza to demarcate the line, it’s supposed to be temporary. But what makes it very real is the number of people who are being killed near it.

YouTube, owned by Google LLC, has deleted more than 700 videos documenting Israeli human rights violations, citing compliance with US sanctions imposed on Palestinian human rights groups cooperating with the International Criminal Court (ICC), according to an investigation by The Intercept published on 5 November.
The investigation revealed that the videos were removed after US President Donald Trump's administration sanctioned three Palestinian organizations over their work with the ICC on war crimes cases against Israeli leaders.

As the extent of the devastation Hurricane Melissa has caused across the Caribbean begins to emerge, at least one thing is clear: this is the new normal.
Melissa, as the highest level Category 5 hurricane, was the second-strongest Atlantic storm ever recorded. But, according to experts, it will be something we are likely to see more frequently.
The even worse news is that future storms may be even more intense than this one. There is now talk that we now need a new Category 6.
Scientists currently classify storms by the five-level Saffir-Simpson scale.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic announced on Monday that the 10th Summit of the Americas, scheduled for early December, has been postponed due to deep regional differences that are hindering discussions. A new date was not provided.
According to a statement, the decision followed a “detailed analysis of the political and social situation in the region” and was “reached in consensus with key partners, including the United States, the forum’s main driving force,” along with the secretary general of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the president of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), who supported the postponement.

In October 2025, the United States cut a deal with China to reduce tariffs on imports tied to fentanyl — the synthetic opioid responsible for more than 70,000 U.S. overdose deaths annually. The tariff on these imports was lowered from 20% to 10% after a meeting between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping in Busan, South Korea, in which China agreed to work very hard to curb fentanyl related exports into the U.S. At almost the exact same time, the U.S. military was conducting lethal strikes on alleged drug-smuggling vessels off the coast of Venezuela — firing missiles into wooden boats and declaring victory in the war on drugs.

The ongoing shutdown of the US federal government threatens the distribution of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits this November. States, localities, and anti-hunger organizations are scrambling to fill the gap in federal assistance amid a massive wave of food insecurity. While two federal judges have ruled that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) must use contingency funds to keep SNAP flowing, the Trump administration announced on November 3rd that it will only cover a fraction of the usual benefits.
Trump’s Greatest Ally Is The Democratic Party

The only hope to save ourselves from Trump’s authoritarianism is mass movements. We must build alternative centers of power — including political parties, media, labor unions and universities — to give a voice and agency to those who have been disempowered by our two ruling parties, especially the working class and working poor. We must carry out strikes to cripple and thwart the abuses carried out by the emerging police state. We must champion a radical socialism, which includes slashing the $1 trillion spent on the war industry and ending our suicidal addiction to fossil fuels, and lift up the lives of Americans cast aside in the wreckage of industrialization, declining wages, a decaying infrastructure and crippling austerity programs.

AI-powered quadcopter drones used by Israel in its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza are now being used to surveil US citizens, from protestors to spring breakers, in all major US cities, according to a report from the journalist project ¡Do Not Panic! published on 3 November.
Hundreds of drones manufactured by the US company Skydio were delivered to Israel after the start of the war in Gaza in October 2023 for use in the strip. Now, they are flying daily above all major US cities, including Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Diego, Cleveland, and Jacksonville, while automatically uploading millions of images to an evidence database.
Iraq Can Only Disarm Militias Once US Troops Leave The Country
Iraq will only be able to disarm its militias after US troops leave the country, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani told Reuters in an interview on Monday.
Sudani’s comments come ahead of Iraq's highly anticipated parliamentary elections on 11 November.
Sudani is balancing between Washington, which is critical for Iraq’s dollar transactions, and neighbouring Iran, which backs a constellation of mainly Shia militias called the Popular Mobilisation Forces.
Sudani is courting public support ahead of elections as he seeks a second term in office.
Wage Stagnation Vs. Living Wages For US Workers Today

At the end of last August, President Donald Trump asserted that average wages for U.S. workers had risen by $546 during the first six months since he returned to office in January 2025. As with virtually all of Trump’s pronouncements, this one bears little relationship to the truth. In fact, when using the most reliable government data on wages and then controlling for inflation, workers’ wages did still rise under Trump, but by $26—that’s 95% less than the $546 average pay raise proclaimed by Trump.
The reality of wage stagnation under Trump is fully consistent with his broader attack on working people.

In early September, the Danish climate crisis denier Bjørn Lomborg travelled to São Paulo to deliver a stark warning. On the sidelines of a conference called the Forum Caminhos da Liberdade, happening just as Brazil was gearing up to host annual global climate talks (known as “COP30”) in November, Lomborg claimed that if implemented poorly, government efforts to address climate change could “destroy economic growth.”
Lomborg had some behind-the-scenes assistance to help his message land, because one of the top 2025 sponsors of the conference (whose speakers in previous years have included Silicon Valley billionaire and Donald Trump ally Peter Thiel), was Atlas Network, a United States-based worldwide coalition of more than 500 free-market think tanks and allied partners.
US Court Questions Legality Of British Journalist’s Detention
A US federal court has raised "serious questions" about the legality of detaining pro-Palestine British journalist Sami Hamdi, according to a legal advocacy group.
The court has blocked the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency from transferring Hamdi out of California. Meanwhile, his case proceeds, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (Cair) said on Saturday.
Cair added that the court recognised that Hamdi's lawyers "raised serious questions regarding whether his detention was retaliation for protected speech under the First Amendment".
The advocacy group described the ruling as "an important first step".

In the wake of two years of the globally broadcast extermination of the people of Palestine, three distinct tracks of international response have emerged. One is grounded in justice, international law, human rights, and accountability. Two others are dedicated to impunity, the continued subjugation of the victims, and the normalization of the perpetrator regime.
In the diplomatic struggle that has ensued, the justice track is under sustained attack. Left to their own devices, most states — the directly complicit and the timid alike — will undoubtedly take the easy way out, opting for impunity and normalization. But a growing people’s movement from across the globe is mobilized to demand justice.

The US has issued its “final” and “most serious” warning to Iraq regarding the Iran-linked resistance factions in the country, according to Iraqi Defense Minister Thabit al-Abbasi.
Abbasi said in an interview over the weekend that Washington’s latest message “concerns armed factions and includes a direct threat in the event that those factions carry out any operations in response to what Washington intends to do in the region near Iraq in the coming days.”
No further details were provided on what exactly these US operations would entail. The minister said the message was relayed during a call with US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
Hegseth ended the call by saying "This is your final warning... and you know very well how the current administration will respond," Abbasi went on to say.

When Belarusian opposition figure Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya declared herself “President” of an alternative government in 2020, she was enthusiastically embraced – and showered with funding – by the Western governments which yearned to depose the longtime leader of her country, Alexander Lukashenko, and remove Russia’s closest regional ally from the geopolitical chessboard. The New York Times set the tone by lionizing Tsikhanouskaya as a modern-day Joan of Arc.
However, a wave of public scandals have prompted Tsikhanouskaya’s foreign sponsors to gradually abandon her unpopular crusade to topple the government of Lukashenko. In August, it was revealed she had secretly taken thousands of euros from Minsk’s KGB in August 2020, a payoff for publicly pleading with protesters to stop their action in the streets, before she fled the country.
