US Army Building New Air Bases, Ammunition Depots For Israel

The US Army Corps of Engineers is constructing new military infrastructure for Israel across several bases, including airfields, hangars, and ammunition depots, according to public records reported by Haaretz on 8 July. The current projects total more than $250 million, with future ones expected to exceed $1 billion, based on a call for interested contractors originally scheduled for June but postponed due to Israel's war against Iran. The Israeli news site Haaretz reported on the public documents on Monday. The US Army Corps of Engineers is using contractors to build ammunition depots, refuelling stations, and concrete structures for Israeli military bases.

Why Public Funds Should Be Deposited In Publicly-Owned Banks

A thriving economy requires that credit flow freely for productive use. But today, a handful of giant banks diverts that flow into an exponentially-growing self-feeding pool of digital profits for themselves. Rather than allowing the free exchange of labor and materials for production, our system of banking and credit has acted as a tourniquet on production and a drain on resources. Yet we cannot do without the functions banks perform; and one of these is the creation of “money” as dollar-denominated bank credit when they make loans. This advance of credit has taken the form of “fractional reserve” lending, which has been heavily criticized.

Trump Freezes Over $6 Billion In Education Funding

While President Trump signed his so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill” into law this July 4 — locking in massive tax cuts for the wealthy and ramping up funding for ICE and the military — the Education Department quietly froze over $6 billion in federal education funding, throwing thousands of schools and community programs into limbo. The funding freeze, like the ugly spending bill, is part of Trump’s plans to slash programs that benefit the working class while deepening inequality and redirecting public money toward repression, privatization, and militarization. This also comes as Trump effectively dismantles the Department of Education via executive order with the full support of Education Secretary Linda McMahon, and giving ICE the green light to attack immigrant students and families through raiding schools, hospitals, and religious sites.

The Anti-Labor Forces Pushing The Abundance Movement

The post-Reconstruction United States has never seen durable progressive change without the labor movement’s involvement. The postwar economy’s rapid, widely distributed gains in material conditions for everyday Americans may be the banner accomplishment, but the movement’s contributions to progress go far further. Working women organized through the labor movement became significant drivers of the suffrage movement. Unions played an essential role in the Civil Rights movement, including the steelworkers and UAW providing crucial support for the March on Washington.

Are We Witnessing The Collapse Of International Law?

These past thirty years, the proponents of the Unipolar World have proceeded to methodically dismantle the norms, principles and diplomatic usages to such an extent that contemporary international relations are characterized by social media postings. First, UN resolutions have been construed to provide a veneer of legality to wars of choice against UN Member-States such as Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, Syria and Yemen. These gross violations of AA 2(4) of the UN Charter proceeded out of a deliberate intent to shirk the core principles of the UN Charter such as respect for national sovereignty and the peaceful resolution of international disputes.

New Footage Exposes Ragtag US Mercenaries Firing Toward Aid Seekers

On July 2, the Associated Press released an exposé containing short videos which appeared to show American mercenaries associated with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) opening fire on aid-seekers in Gaza during an incident in southern Gaza this May. The footage was supplied by a former employee of UG Solutions, a firm charged with securing GHF distribution sites. “I think you hit one,” one soldier of fortune says to another following a loud burst of gunfire. “Hell yeah, boy!” another exclaims. In an apparent attempt to control the damage from the AP investigation, UG Solutions has distributed a pair of videos comprising over seven minutes of footage to the press.

Iran And Its ‘Ring Of Fire’

Resistance to the Imperialist project in the West Asia (Middle East) region has deep historical and cultural roots for the people of the region. It was never exclusive to any religion; it was linked to an Arab identity and civilisation. The modern-day dominance of an Islamic Resistance is a phenomenon that is relatively recent and should not be seen through a sectarian lens, as it remains inclusive of all sects and ideologies. Religion and culture have historically encouraged a path to justice, defence of territorial integrity, regional identity, and human dignity.

Riyadh Realigns: Tehran Over Tel Aviv

The recent confrontation between Iran and Israel marked a decisive shift in regional power equations, particularly in the Persian Gulf. Iran’s direct and calibrated military response – executed through the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) – exposed the strategic vulnerabilities of Tel Aviv and forced Gulf capitals, chiefly Riyadh, to reassess long-standing assumptions about regional security. The Saudi-led recalibration did not emerge in isolation. Years of cumulative political, military, and diplomatic failures under the umbrella of US-Israeli tutelage have pushed Persian Gulf states to seek more viable, non-confrontational security arrangements.

New Tensions Between Bogotá And Washington Over Coup Plot Reveal

A new wave of tensions has emerged between Bogotá and Washington. Both Petro and Trump have announced that they are withdrawing their respective chargé d’affaires in each other’s countries in the aftermath of reports of a possible coup plot against Gustavo Petro. According to a report published by the Spanish newspaper, El País on June 29, Álvaro Leyva, the former minister of foreign affairs in Petro’s government, met with the Republican congressman of the United States, Mario Díaz-Balart, to discuss an early exit of Petro’s progressive government. Petro and his supporters were quick to respond, denouncing the plot and calling for clarification of the events. Charges have also been filed against Leyva.

Who Are The Real Terrorists?

Who are the real terrorists?  That is one of the important questions we all need to be asking ourselves.  It is a big challenge to write about this because every day there is a new deportation-related atrocity.  Now the deportation problem is active even in peaceful Hawai`i, where I live, and the picture is hideous and cruel.  The vicious effects of alarming, illegal, and lethal behavior by government agencies and departments, from the local to the federal level, are plain to see in this state, just as they are plain to see in almost every state.  It is an ugly picture that we, the people, cannot allow.  It is a reign of terror.

Russophobia By The Collective West Opens Doors Of The Cold War 2.0

The current orchestrated Western policy of total Russophobia, directed by Collective West, can be recorded to start by the British Cabinet of Theresa May – the focal servant-dog to US global imperialism, followed by the creation of the War Cabinet of the US President Donald Trump (first administration), was a nothing else than a jumping to the new stage of the post-WWII Cold War (2.0) which was originally started (1.0) by the US and never was over as its main task of total economic, political, and financial subordination or/and occupation of Russia still is not realized.

What The 17th BRICS Summit Declaration Says And Omits

At the 17th BRICS Summit, held in Rio de Janeiro from July 6 to 7, 2025, the bloc’s leaders issued a declaration reaffirming the bloc’s central role as a representative voice of the Global South. However, the declaration does not mention the word “genocide” when referring to the Israeli massacre of the Palestinian population, and despite condemning unilateral sanctions, it fails to mention one of the countries that has suffered the greatest impact from them: Venezuela, a strategic ally of China and Russia, two of the founding countries of the BRICS. In this regard, the final declaration condemns “the imposition of unilateral coercive measures contrary to international law” and denounces that such measures “have far-reaching negative implications for human rights, including the rights to development, health and food security of the general population of the affected states.”

Trump Threatens Additional Tariffs On BRICS-Linked Countries

US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose additional tariffs on any country affiliated with the BRICS+ group of emerging economies. Trump made the threat early on 7 July in a post on his Truth Social platform. “Any Country aligning themselves with the Anti-American policies of BRICS, will be charged an ADDITIONAL 10 percent Tariff,” the US president said. “There will be no exceptions to this policy. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” he added. Trump’s statement coincided with an ongoing BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. On Sunday, the bloc made a declaration condemning the rise in US tariffs in an indirect swipe at Washington, expressing “serious concerns.”

A Scramble For Minerals Under The Guise Of Peace

The Trump Administration brokered a vaunted peace agreement between the Republic of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) on June 27, 2025. The Agreement was witnessed by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and signed by Rwandan Foreign Minister, Olivier Nduhungirehe and DRC Foreign Minister, Therese Kayikamba-Wagner. The Agreement is a codification of the Declaration of Principles that the two foreign ministers signed on April 25th under the aegis of Marco Rubio at the State Department. The Signing of the Agreement on June 27th was followed up on the same day with a White House ceremony and briefing that included the two foreign ministers, Secretary Rubio, Vice-President JD Vance, and Trump's Senior Advisor for Africa, Massad Boulos.

The Necessity Of Birthright Citizenship For Black People

The idea of citizenship has always been a thorny one for Black people. The original United States constitution allowed the enslaved to be counted for purposes of determining congressional representation, but only as three-fifths of a person. The struggles for liberation during enslavement reached their nadir in the 1857 Supreme Court case of Dred Scott v. Sandford , in which not only were an enslaved man and his family wrongly deprived of their freedom, but Chief Justice Roger B. Taney infamously declared that not only were the Scotts not free, but that no Black person had any rights “which the white man was bound to respect.”
