Strategic direct action and civil disobedience such as strikes, sit-ins and occupations can expose injustice, slow down or stop harmful practices and win specific demands. Below is an archive of articles covering resistance groups in the United States and internationally. If you are inspired by a campaign, perhaps you will join or support it. If you like the tactics being used, you can adapt them for your own struggle. Check out our Resources Page for links to tools that may be helpful in your resistance.
For centuries, farmers in Melendugno, a town located at the tip of southern Italy’s boot heel, built stone walls to mark the boundaries of their fields, shield their crops from the winds blowing out of North Africa, and divide farmland from pasture.
Today, those same ancient stones stand watch over a changed landscape of parched olive groves, tall metal fences, and barbed wire. Beyond the fences, framed by a few remaining ancient olive trees, sits the Melendugno Reception Terminal — the western endpoint of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).

The UK Home Office has lost its attempt to prevent a judicial review of its decision to designate Palestine Action as a terrorist organization, following a Court of Appeal ruling issued on 17 October.
The court dismissed the government’s appeal and confirmed that the case brought by Palestine Action co-founder Huda Ammori will proceed, adding two further grounds of challenge that had previously been denied.
These grounds, according to the judgment, include allegations that the Home Secretary failed to consider relevant information, or relied on irrelevant material, and that she did not follow her own published policy outlining factors to be assessed before proscription.

If there’s one thing President Donald Trump and the people of Chicago might agree on, it’s that America’s third-largest city is currently a “war zone.”
But for most Chicagoans, it’s the Trump administration that has made it so, with its military-style “Operation Midway Blitz,” led by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and “Operation At Large,” which Customs and Border Protection (CBP) launched in Los Angeles and brought to the Windy City in September.
“I have lived here for 28 years and I have never felt so profoundly unsafe until this week,” one resident recently posted on social media.

The UK Home Office has lost its appeal to block Palestine Action from challenging its ban as a terror group.
The Court of Appeal on Friday dismissed the government's attempt to stop the judicial review of its decision to ban the group.
During the judgement, four judges, including the Lady Chief Justice, also granted Palestine Action's co-founder, Huda Ammori, two further grounds to challenge the ban, that were previously rejected.
These grounds include that the Home Secretary, at the time, failed to consider relevant information or/and considered irrelevant information, and that she failed to follow her published policy "which prescribes that certain factors may be taken into account".

The government of Daniel Noboa has opted to reinforce the security forces to definitively suppress the national strike called by the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (CONAIE), which has now been going on for 26 days. The protests, which have been concentrated in the province of Imbabura (although they have also taken place in dozens of other locations), demand the repeal of a presidential decree that eliminates the subsidy on diesel fuel, which is used especially by transporters, farmers, and rural workers. However, little by little, the demonstrations have taken on an anti-government tone that is evident in the mobilizations.

The world is tired of US imperialism’s playbook, creating false flags and narratives in order to initiate wars and orchestrate regime change.
President Ali and the PPP Government, in collusion with the Trump Administration, are leading Guyana in a direction that can only bring us chaos and catastrophe. War with our neighbor can never be in our best interest. The current dispute between Guyana and Venezuela, while framed as a territorial dispute, is related to much larger and more menacing issues.

“Burkina Faso is a place of dignity … not a place of expulsion,” said its Foreign Minister Karamoko Jean-Marie Traoré, rejecting US President Donald Trump’s deportation deal.
Deeming Trump’s proposal for Burkina Faso to accept foreign nationals he is deporting from the US as “indecent”, he said it was “totally contrary to the value of dignity, which is … the very essence of the vision of Captain Ibrahim Traoré.”
Coming to power in 2022 after the ouster of Roch Kaboré’s unpopular regime, propped up by France, Traoré expelled French troops, consolidating his mass support in the country.
His avowed anti-imperialism and pan-Africanism have won him admirers across Africa and Black and Afro-descendant communities in the West.
