US ‘Would Not Consider’ Israel Arms Embargo Over Forced Starvation

The US government’s special envoy for West Asian humanitarian issues, Lise Grande, told the heads of over a dozen aid organizations that Washington “would not consider withholding weapons from Israel for blocking food and medicine from entering [Gaza],” according to informed sources who spoke with POLITICO. “She was sort of saying, with certain allies, we can’t play bad cop,” an aid official who attended the 29 August meeting said, adding that Grande made it clear Israel is part of a “tight circle of very few allies” that Washington “will not oppose, nor will it hold anything back that they want.”

What Is The ‘Generals’ Plan’?

It has been 11 days since Israel started its latest offensive against the northern part of the Gaza Strip, which includes a complete siege of the towns of Jabalia, Beit Lahia, and Beit Hanoun just north of Gaza City. These were the first areas that the Israeli forces first entered at the beginning of the ground invasion almost a year ago, and they are also the first areas where the Israeli army declared “full operational control” after it had claimed to have destroyed all the fighting units of the Palestinian resistance factions.

USAID Officials Take ‘Daily Meetings’ At Israel’s Sde Teiman Torture Camp

Officials from the US’s main humanitarian agency attend daily meetings on an Israeli military base that also hosts the notorious Sde Teiman torture camp for Palestinian detainees from Gaza, The Guardian reported on 15 October. United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is tasked with working with Israeli officials, the UN, and international NGOs to bring humanitarian assistance into Gaza as part of the Joint Coordination Board (JCB). According to three officials with the agency, USAID officials have been attending meetings as part of the JCB at the Sde Teiman base in southern Israel since 29 July.

Israel’s Genocide Day 374: Israeli Airstrike Burns Patients Alive

Israel killed at least 62 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours according to the Gaza branch of the Palestinian Health Ministry. Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling targeted houses and shelter centers across the strip, including three direct attacks on displaced Palestinians in the north and the center of the Gaza Strip. In Deir al-Balah, Israeli drones opened fire at tents of displaced families in the perimeter of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, provoking a fire that spread across tents, killing at least four Palestinians and burning several patients alive in their hospital beds. Harrowing images appeared on social media depicting the victims engulfed by flames and visibly moving while lying down in hospital beds as they burned alive

Extermination Works – At First

Extermination works. At first. This is the terrible lesson of history. If Israel is not stopped — and no outside power appears willing to halt the genocide in Gaza or the destruction of Lebanon — it will achieve its goals of depopulating and annexing northern Gaza and turning southern Gaza into a charnel house where Palestinians are burned alive, decimated by bombs and die from starvation and infectious diseases, until they are driven out. It will achieve its goal of destroying Lebanon — 2,255 people have been killed and over one million Lebanese have been displaced — in an attempt to turn it into a failed state.

Israel’s Roots In European Colonialism Explain Its Genocidal Ideology

Israel is carrying out a genocide in Gaza. This is precisely what numerous United Nations experts have determined. Several countries have joined South Africa in a case in the International Court of Justice accusing Israel of committing genocide against the Palestinian people, and judges at the Hague have stated that it is “plausible” that Tel Aviv is violating the Genocide Convention. Top Israeli officials have made genocidal calls for the elimination of the Palestinian people, whom they demonize as “human animals”. Israel’s far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich argued that it would be “justified and moral” to starve to death all 2 million Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

Truths That Come Out Like The Sun

The Israelis are not at war with the Palestinians of Gaza, just as the Reich was not at war with the Jews of Europe. Genocide is something different, and it is always important to name things properly if we are to understand them as they are. But there has indeed been a war raging this past year. It is not as bloody as what Palestinians now endure, and what the Lebanese now seem to be in for, but it is arguably just as consequential. This is our war for the truth against those who would bury it in the cause of distorting events, burying reality itself and, specifically, of shielding those who conduct the genocide in Gaza.

New York’s Report On Antisemitism Is An Attack On The Palestine Movement

The Fall 2024 semester has been marked by an onslaught of repressive measures against the Palestine movement and free speech on campuses. Professors have been fired, students have been suspended, and universities have banned pro-Palestinian groups, including Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and Jewish Voices for Peace (JVP). At the City University of New York (CUNY), some community members are still facing felony charges after 28 people were initially charged with felonies for their participation in the City College encampment for Palestine last semester. Nearly 11 months ago, in the wake of October 7, and in the middle of a national attempt to equate the movement for Palestine with antisemitism, New York governor Kathy Hochul commissioned an investigation on antisemitism at CUNY.

Global South Denounces Genocide; Nicaragua Ends Relations With Israel

More and more countries in the Global South are cutting relations with Israel, accusing it of committing genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza. United Nations experts have stated that there “are reasonable grounds to believe that the threshold indicating the commission of the crime of genocide … has been met”, adding that “the genocide in Gaza is the most extreme stage of a long-standing settler colonial process of erasure of the native Palestinians”. Scientific experts have estimated that 186,000 Palestinians will die due to Israel’s war of extermination on Gaza, representing roughly 8% of the population of the densely populated strip.

They Now Know What Real Bombing Means

On 1 October, US Representative Michael McCaul, the chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee issued a statement urging US President Joe Biden to ‘place maximum pressure on Iran and its proxies, rather than pressure Israel for a ceasefire. We need to expedite arms transfers to Israel that this administration has delayed for months, including 2,000-pound bombs, to ensure Israel has all the tools to deter these threats’. McCaul’s belligerent call came days after Israel used over eighty US-made 2,000-pound bombs and other munitions on 27 September, to strike a residential neighbourhood in Beirut and kill – amongst hundreds of civilians – Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah (1960–2024), the leader of Hezbollah.

Israel’s Genocide Day 370: Israel Strangles Northern Gaza

Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip have killed at least 184 Palestinians since last Tuesday, October 8, according to the Gaza branch of the Palestinian Health Ministry. On Thursday alone, 54 Palestinians were killed in multiple strikes, according to the Ministry’s daily report. Israel’s siege of parts of northern Gaza entered its sixth day on Thursday, sealing off Beit Lahia and Jabalia as the Israeli army launched a military invasion of the area, which houses an estimated 200,000 people. Analysts have considered Israel’s current operations in northern Gaza to be the first step in implementing the vision laid out by retired Israeli general Giora Eiland in an article he published in the early months of the war.

The True Lesson Of October 7 Is That Israel Cannot Be Reformed

As we come up to the first anniversary of Israel’s war on Gaza, I think back to 1948, when Israel was first created. Our family lived in Jerusalem, where I was born. But, like most of Palestine’s population, we were forced out from our homes in 1948 to make room for the state of Israel being created in our place. Learning to live in exile, people’s one comfort was the thought that Israel would not last. Such gross injustice could not prevail, they said, and the rag-tag collection of immigrants who came to Palestine from a variety of countries and were artificially assembled into something they called a ‘state’ would soon return to the places from which they came.

US Support For Israel’s War Crimes Is Bipartisan

Israel has received staunch bipartisan support from the Democratic and Republican Parties in Washington, as it brutally bombs Gaza; invades Lebanon; and attacks Iran, Syria, and Yemen. The Biden-Harris administration has sent Israel at least $17.9 billion in arms and military aid since October 2023. Meanwhile, UN experts say Israel is guilty of genocide, and Tel Aviv is being investigated by the International Court of Justice on charges of genocide. The International Criminal Court has also applied for arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of crimes against humanity, including “extermination” and “starvation of civilians as a method of warfare as a war crime”.

People Of South Asia Reaffirm Solidarity With Palestine

Thousands of people participated in rallies and protest gatherings all across the South Asia region as part of international calls for mobilization to commemorate a year of Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza, express solidarity with the Palestinian people, and to raise the demand for an immediate ceasefire. Protesters carried Palestinian flags, banners condemning the genocide, and chanted slogans in support of the Palestinian resistance. A large number of young university students joined the protests as well, defying various restrictions imposed by their respective governments on the display of such solidarity with Palestinians.

School Curriculum Supports The Genocide

Scholasticide. It’s a term coined in 2009, but has taken on new power as the devastation of Gazan schools, universities, and libraries becomes almost total. As Rice University Professor Abdel Razzaq Takriti of Scholars Against the War on Palestine said about the Israeli assault: “They’re demolishing universities and schools intentionally. They bombarded and destroyed every single university. They’re using schools as barracks and military stations.” But another facet of scholasticide can be found in our own schools in the United States — erasing Palestinian lives and hiding the history of Palestine-Israel from young people.
