Global Sumud Flotilla Boats Attacked By Israeli Drones

As the Israeli government continues unabated its horrific genocide of Palestinians and the destruction of housing and infrastructure in Gaza, in the third attack on the 42-ship Global Sumud flotilla, drones attacked multiple boats in international waters south-west of the Greek island of Crete, this morning September 24, 2025. In May 2025, another flotilla ship, the Conscience, was attacked in international waters off Malta. It  was damaged by Israeli bombs that blew holes in the deck of the ship’s bow causing severe damage in the hold in the bow of the ship.

Global Sumud Flotilla Enters Crucial Phase En Route To Gaza

The Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) humanitarian mission, now sailing in international waters near Greece before heading to Gaza, has entered its most crucial phase, described as the decisive moment of the entire movement within the coming week. Founder of Cinta Salam Malaysia (CSM), Ahmad Musa Al-Nuwayri Kamaruzaman, who is part of the mission, said the GSF vessel was currently en route to gather with other ships participating in the effort. Ahmad Musa, who is aboard the vessel Alma, said it was expected to arrive near Greece in the next two days. "In fact, the distance from Greece is very close to Gaza. I asked the chief executive officer of Cinta Gaza Malaysia, Muhammad Nadir Al-Nuri Kamaruzaman, and he said it may take another four to five days from Greece before reaching Gaza.

As Israel Faces Increasing Isolation, BDS Becomes More Crucial

On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent the Israeli stock market into a fall by doing what he so often does: saying the quiet part out loud. The market rebounded, as it always does from these sorts of brief panics. But Netanyahu and Israel in general are finally being forced to grapple with some of the real, long-term consequences of their actions. Netanyahu told a group of American and Israeli business people at the “Fifty States, One Israel” conference (a name that, itself, inspires many associations of Israel being the fifty-first U.S. state, but also shows Israel’s permanent inability to truly stand alone): “…I am a devotee of the free market, but we’ll have to have some signs of an autarky…We’ll need to develop weapons industries here. We’re going to be Athens and super Sparta. Over the next few years, we’ll have no other choice. We’ll have to defend ourselves and know how to attack our enemies…We need to cut back the bureaucracy in a draconian fashion.

Lawyers File Criminal Genocide Complaint Against 11 German Politicians And CEOs

A collective of Berlin lawyers, with the support of the European Legal Support Centre (ELSC), Palestine Institute for Public Diplomacy (PIPD), and Law for Palestine has filed a formal criminal complaint for collusion in Israel’s genocide against eleven German government officials and arms trade executives. Zionist former foreign minister Annalena Baerbock, now president of the United Nations General Assembly, recently denied ever saying that Israel was justified in bombing hospitals and other civilian buildings in Gaza, despite having appeared on video saying it. In a dossier over a hundred pages long, the lawyers provide extensive evidence for the alleged collaboration in crimes under the Code of Crimes against International Law (CCAIL), specifically the crime of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes committed by Israel.

Trump Targets CODEPINK After Public Confrontation

Activists from the anti-war group CODEPINK confronted US President Donald Trump and his cabinet at a restaurant in Washington, DC on September 9. The disruption made national headlines and (evidently) sent the Trump administration into a frenzy. At the restaurant on September 9, peace activists got surprisingly close to Trump and cabinet members including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, shouting “Free DC, free Palestine, Trump is the Hitler of our time!” Trump appeared to react with visible frustration as he gestured for his security to remove the protesters, saying “Get them out of here.”

Independent Probe For United Nations Says Israel Commits Genocide

In a new report published against the backdrop of intensifying Israeli military operations in Gaza City, the U.N. Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel, urged Israel and all countries to fulfil their obligations under international law “to end the genocide” and punish those responsible. “The Commission finds that Israel is responsible for the commission of genocide in Gaza,” insisted Navi Pillay, Chair of the Commission. “It is clear that there is an intent to destroy the Palestinians in Gaza through acts that meet the criteria set forth in the Genocide Convention.”

One Million Palestinians ‘Reject Displacement’ From North Gaza

About one million Palestinians in Gaza City and northern Gaza are refusing or are unable to be forcibly displaced to overcrowded “safe zones” in southern Gaza, according to a statement issued by the Gaza Government Media Office on 16 September. “More than one million Palestinians remain rooted in Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip, holding onto their land and homes, and categorically rejecting displacement to the south, despite the savage bombardment and genocidal war carried out by the Israeli occupation,” Palestinian officials said. The statement highlights that the population of Gaza City and northern Gaza “exceeds 1.3 million people,” most of whom have already been displaced from their neighborhoods to central and coastal areas.

All Hands on Deck! Letter From Veterans Boat On Gaza Flotilla

Nine of us veterans arrived in Barcelona on August 27th. We were mostly strangers meeting for the first time, with a couple of exceptions.  We began to bond immediately – which was fairly easy considering our common bonds of being veterans sailing for peace.  Two Marine veterans had served together with HMX-1, presidential helicopter. There are two combat veterans. And then there’s me. That’s all that’s left as of today, as four veterans have had to leave the boat for a variety of reasons, including the inherent delays associated with the historical size of the flotilla. In Barcelona, our days were full of training protocols; preparing travel documentation and our “SOS videos” for our anticipated illegal kidnapping.  We also had time for bonding and we took advantage of the luxury of eating out.

Massive Pro-Palestine Protests Shut Down Spain’s La Vuelta Race

The final stretch of the Vuelta a Espana road cycling race was abandoned in Madrid on 14 September after over 100,000 pro-Palestinian protesters disrupted routes and forced organizers to call off the event. Danish rider Jonas Vingegaard was declared the winner as police struggled to contain the demonstrations, overwhelmed by their large numbers. “The race is over,” a spokesperson for the organizers told Reuters after barriers were overturned and crowds moved onto the course.  More than 1,000 officers were deployed across the capital, but confrontations escalated as protesters threw water bottles and other objects at police, chanting “It's a genocide, not a war,” and the police responded with tear gas.

Israeli Strikes Leave 50,000 Homeless In Gaza

Since dawn on Sunday, Israeli occupation forces have killed 31 Palestinians, including aid workers, in a series of airstrikes and ground assaults across the Gaza Strip.  Local officials said that at least 50,000 people were made homeless following Israeli evacuation orders that forced residents to flee south along Rashid Al-Bahri Street. The attacks come as Israel presses ahead with its nearly two-year genocidal war on Gaza, marked by attempts to reoccupy Gaza City and forcibly displace its residents. Hospitals across the Strip reported dozens of casualties. Al-Quds Hospital confirmed seven people were killed in strikes on the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood in southern Gaza City, while 20 others were wounded by Israeli fire on Street 8. Emergency services reported four deaths in a strike on a displacement tent at Palestine Stadium, west of Gaza City.

SJSU Pro-Palestine Students Disrupt Career Fair With Silent Action

San Jose, CA – On September 10, San Jose Students for a Democratic Society alongside various other SJSU students held a silent protest outside a career fair where Lockheed Martin, notorious weapons manufacturer and supporter of the Gaza genocide, had a table. San Jose State University held the “Business, Financial Services and Logistics Job and Internship Fair” at 11 a.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. The career fair on the school’s website claims to attract over 600 students. Lockheed Martin was present at the event, intent on recruiting students to participate in what they call “defense,” which is in fact the design and manufacture of warplanes, helicopters and munitions which are used by the Israeli military to bomb and murder thousands of Palestinians a month.

Universities Worldwide Sever Ties With Israeli Academia, Netherlands To Boycott Eurovision

Universities and scholarly associations across Europe and South America have announced suspensions of cooperation with Israeli institutions, citing their role in aiding the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, The Guardian reported on 13 September. Trinity College Dublin announced this summer that it was ending collaboration with Israeli partners. Meanwhile, the Federal University of Ceará in Brazil had already canceled a planned innovation summit with an Israeli university last year. Similar actions were announced by institutions in Norway, Belgium, and Spain. The University of Amsterdam confirmed it was terminating its student exchange with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The European Association of Social Anthropologists also said it would refuse cooperation with Israeli bodies and called on its members to follow the same path.

Global Sumud Flotilla Vows To Continue Mission Despite Attacks

Activists aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla vow to continue their mission to set sail to Gaza, insisting nothing will stop them from breaking Israel’s blockade and bringing aid to Gaza. Members of the Flotilla have reported two suspected drone attacks on their boats while docked in Tunisian waters. Still, the first wave of Flotilla ships departed the Sidi Bou Said port in Tunisia where they were stationed on the night of September 11, and the rest are set to depart on September 12. “We know who has interest in stopping these flotillas, in stopping this mission to Gaza,” Mariana Mortágua, a member of the Portuguese Parliament who joined the Global Sumud Flotilla, told Democracy Now!, indicating that Israel had a role in the attacks on the ships.

Health Workers’ Solidarity With Palestine Practiced On The Ground

In the coming days, dozens of civilian ships will depart from Tunisia, Spain, and Italy as part of the Global Sumud Flotilla – the largest effort yet to break Israel’s illegal blockade of Gaza. On board will be several health activists from the People’s Health Movement (PHM). Among them is Moroccan pharmacist and human rights defender Aziz Rhali. In this interview, physician Juliette Mattijsen, member of PHM Europe’s coordinating group and researcher on planetary health education, speaks with Rhali about his path in the global health movement and his commitment to supporting Palestinian health workers during the genocide.

Chris Hedges Report: The Death Of Holocaust Studies

Raz Segal, an Israeli historian and an associate professor of Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Stockton University, analyzes how the weaponization and distortion of the Holocaust, in the midst of the genocide in Gaza, has been used to serve the narrative of Zionists and the Israeli government. He tells host Chris Hedges on this episode of The Chris Hedges Report: “We know that Holocaust education eventually was more focused on transmitting this feeling of exceptionality than actually teaching about Holocaust as history, as real history, as normal history, as a part, indeed, of the making of the modern and late modern world.” Segal recounts his personal experience learning about the Holocaust in Israel, revealing a Zionist perspective that is both skewed and contradictory.
