Israel’s Genocide Day 423: Israeli Siege Of North Gaza Intensifies

The UN agency responsible for providing humanitarian relief to Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, announced on Sunday that it has suspended receiving and delivering aid to Gaza through the Karam Abu Salem crossing between Israel and Rafah in southern Gaza, the main entry point to the Strip for humanitarian aid. The agency, which is the largest supplier of aid in Gaza, said in a statement that the road for delivering aid to the crossing point has been dangerous for months, especially since the Israeli invasion of Rafah last April. UNRWA also said that several truck drivers and aid delivery workers had been killed or injured, adding that “it can not continue to put their lives at risk.”

Over A Hundred Jewish Canadians Take Over Parliamentary Building

Ottawa, ON – As catastrophic levels of hunger grip Israeli-occupied Gaza, over a hundred Jewish Canadians and allied supporters of Palestinian liberation have taken over a Parliament Hill building in Ottawa, blocking Members of Parliament from reaching their offices. Their message is clear: Canada cannot continue business as usual with Israel when business as usual means being complicit in a genocide. Canada must end its active participation in Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people by halting all arms exports to Israel—including components funneled through U.S. loopholes—and stopping all arms imports from Israel.

President Maduro Calls For Creation Of ‘Powerful Media Network For The People’

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, proposed the creation of a “powerful media network for the truth of the peoples across all continents, with all languages and on all existing social media of today and those that will be born as alternatives.” He made this proposal on Friday, November 29, at the International Conference in Solidarity with Palestine, held in Caracas. He commented that there is a consensus across the world for “the cause of the struggle for freedom and the right to life of the Palestinian people, and we must do more for Palestine, because still there are many people who are misinformed about the brutal genocide that is being broadcast live.”

Youth Demand Hit The West End

Supporters of Youth Demand have taken part in mass co-ordinated actions that saw disruption across the West End before a mass blockade of Piccadilly Circus by 200 people and eight groups total. They are demanding a two-way arms embargo on Israel, and for the UK government to halt all new oil and gas licences granted since 2021. The action came after the group’s week of swarming across the UK – which was also highlighting our government’s complicity in multiple crises. Youth Demand: shutting down the heart of Black Friday capitalism At 6pm on Friday 29 November, a group of 30 people blocked traffic on the junction of Oxford Street and Orchard Street, holding Palestine flags.

What International Solidarity Means To Palestinian Women

Nov. 29 is the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, marked by the United Nations since 1977. But how can solidarity be effectively shown in the context of ongoing, escalating war? Here is what women in Palestine say. Doaa Ahmad, a women’s rights activist and the head of programs for a grassroots organization in northern Gaza, and her three boys just escaped death for the fourth time. Doaa fetches her laptop and work-related material every time she escapes. Even in genocide, Doaa says, I have a duty to help others, particularly women and girls. (Doaa and the other women in this story have had their names changed at their request.)

Without Including Biden And Blinken, International Criminal Court Arrest Warrants Are A Sham

After months of procedural stalling, allegations of sexual harassment against the lead prosecutor and systematic threats from the United States and its Western allies, it did not appear that the International Criminal Court (ICC) would even execute the final phase of the criminal indictment process and Israeli impunity would continue. But on November 20, 2024, six months to the day after Karim Khan, chief prosecutor for the court, submitted his request for the indictments of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant and Hamas leaders Mohammed Deif, Yahya Sinwar and Ismail Haniyeh, the court finally indicted Netanyahu, Gallant and threw in Mohammed Deif who Israel claims to have assassinated, as they did to Sinwar and Haniyeh.

Over 800 Euro Banks Invest In Companies Supporting Illegal Settlements

The Don’t Buy into Occupation (DBIO) coalition has issued its 2024 report highlighting the international companies and financial institutions that are actively involved with illegal Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank. The DBIO coalition is a joint project between 24 Palestinian, regional, and European organizations. The newly released report shows that over the past three years, “822 European financial institutions (including banks, asset managers, insurance companies, and pension funds) had financial relationships with 58 companies that are actively involved with illegal Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT).”

No More ‘Deals’: What Palestinians Want And Will Fight To Achieve

A major problem in American thinking in the Middle East is the utter rejection of the notion that Palestinian rights are fundamental, if at all relevant, to the coveted peace and stability. Long before Donald Trump’s first ‘Deal of the Century’ was officially revealed on January 28, 2020, successive US administrations attempted to ‘stabilize’ the Middle East at the expense of Palestinians. Earlier plans, or deals, rested on the premise of total marginalization of the Palestinian people and their cause. They included the Roger Plan of 1969 and Roger Plan II in the early 70s, which culminated in the Camp David Accords later that same decade.

Oxford Union Declares Israel An ‘Apartheid State Responsible For Genocide’

The prestigious Oxford Union voted by an overwhelming majority that Israel is an "apartheid state responsible for genocide" at a fiery event in which the society's president denounced Israel's war on Gaza as a "holocaust", and a pro-Israel speaker was ejected from the debating chamber. The exclusive debating society, founded in 1823, held an unprecedented debate on Thursday night on the motion: "This house believes Israel is an apartheid state responsible for genocide". The motion was carried with a thumping majority of 278 to 59. The packed debate on Thursday evening, observed by Middle East Eye and largely attended by Oxford students, was often raucous and heated, with nearly every speaker interrupted several times by students raising objections.

Israel’s Genocide Day 419: Conditions For Survival Are ‘Diminishing’

The UN agency for the relief of Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, said on Thursday that survival conditions are diminishing for 60,000 to 70,000 remaining Palestinians in the north of Gaza, as the Israeli siege of the area enters its 55th day. The UNRWA added that Israeli forces have obstructed 82 attempts by the UN to deliver aid to the north of Gaza in the past month, and rejected nine petitions to be allowed to deliver aid in the area where 700,000 Palestinians lived before October 7 of last year. The Israeli siege and bombing campaign in the north of Gaza that started in early October was coupled with raids into shelter centers and forcing people to leave.

US Activists Call For Black Friday Boycott

Activists across the United States are urging a boycott of so-called “Black Friday” this year as a form of protest against the US government’s continued military and financial support for Israel, including a recent $680 million arms deal. According to Wafa news agency, the campaign seeks to pressure the government to end US complicity in Israel’s genocide against the Palestinians. By refraining from shopping on one of the biggest retail days of the year, activists aim to hit the profits of major corporations with political influence. The goal is to out pressure on these businesses to advocate for an immediate ceasefire and an end to arms shipments, and to push for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in Gaza, particularly those suffering in the heavily impacted northern region of the enclave.

Palestine Action Shut UAV Engines For Second Time This Week

Palestine Action were back in Staffordshire on Wednesday 27 November – blockading Elbit-supplying UAV Engines factory for the second time in a matter of days; disrupting Israel’s weapons supply chain in the process. Following on from Palestine Action’s blockade of UAV Engines on Monday 25 November, when activists locked on inside vehicles, blocking both gates to the site, others returned today, to once again disrupt the weapons factory. UAV manufactures engines for the killer drones of Elbit Systems, Israel’s biggest weapons manufacturer.

Israel’s Chemical Weapons Stockpile Is A Global Threat

Iran raised the issue of Israel’s refusal to ratify the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) on Monday, November 25, claiming that this lack of accountability poses a grave risk to global peace and stability. Iran’s Deputy Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, addressed the 29th session of the Conference of the State Parties to the CWC, which began in The Hague on Monday. He also called for international action against Israel for using chemical weapons, which are banned by international conventions, in Palestine and in Lebanon. The CWC prohibits the development, production, storage, and use of all types of chemical weapons.

Legislating Silence: How Congress Plans To Target Critics Of Israel

A coalition of civil rights groups is sounding the alarm over three proposed bills that, they argue, represent an audacious attempt to stifle dissent and curb free expression in the United States. The legislation—H.R.6408, H.R.9495, and S.4136—claims to combat terrorism by targeting the tax-exempt status of nonprofits deemed to be in violation. But critics insist the true aim is more insidious: to suppress organizations that are critical of Israel. Championed by lawmakers with deep ties to AIPAC, the bills, if passed, could pave the way for an unprecedented crackdown on dissent under the guise of national security.

Death In The Bekaa Valley

On Thursday evening news came through that we had at long last gained the full list of approvals required to travel to report outside Beirut; we were cleared by the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Defence, and the local authorities. Laith Marouf of Free Palestine TV called me and suggested we go down together on Friday to the southern capital of Nabatieh, which has been enduring heavy bombing. I asked Laith to give me half an hour, and did some quick research. Nabatieh is about 12 miles from the Israeli border and has been devastated by Israeli bombing attacks. In the South of the country some 70,000 homes have been destroyed.
