Racists Converge On Dearborn; Protesters And Community Fight Back

Dearborn, MI – On November 18, 20 protesters met at the Arab American Museum in Dearborn to confront a hate march put on by right-wingers who called for end to “Islamification.” Islamophobic marchers managed to gather a group of 30 people. The march was initially spearheaded by Anthony Hudson, an “America First” gubernatorial candidate who tried to recant his claims that Dearborn was under “Sharia law” – only to still face the protest anyways. Given Dearborn is home to many Arab and Muslim residents, the community took the threats made by Hudson and January 6 insurrectionist Jake Lang seriously and came out in crowds.

Chris Hedges Report: The Palestine Laboratory

Filmmaker, author and journalist Antony Loewenstein documents how Israel has used Gaza as a weapons showcase. Spyware, killer drones, robot dogs and other weapons are debuted in Gaza and field-tested on the civilian population, demonstrating their effectiveness to regimes around the world that await their chance to purchase them. Loewenstein joins host Chris Hedges on this episode of The Chris Hedges Report to chronicle what he has learned from writing The Palestine Laboratory: How Israel Exports the Technology of Occupation Around the World and producing The Palestine Laboratory, a documentary based on the book.

Growing Global Solidarity To Demand Protection Of Palestinians Manifested On Day Of Action

On November 17, social movements in 13 countries held actions in solidarity with Colombia and its President, Gustavo Petro, who has faced retaliation by the United States for his statements and actions in support of Palestine. Petro has announced that he will introduce a Uniting for Peace resolution at the United Nations General Assembly to create a multinational protection force for Palestinians and impose sanctions and a weapons blockade in order to end the genocide and liberate Palestine from the illegal Israeli occupation. Since he announced his intention to introduce the resolution on September 2, the U.S. government has revoked Petro's visa, targeted him with sanctions, punitively increased tariffs on Colombia, and is even threatening military action against the country.

Palestinians In Gaza Reject UN Security Council Approval Of Trump’s Plan

The UN Security Council voted on Monday in favor of a U.S.-backed resolution establishing an “International Stabilization Force” (ISF) in Gaza under a “Board of Peace” headed by U.S. President Donald Trump. Under a two-year mandate, the stabilization force is reportedly planned to have an “executive” role in Gaza, not just as a peacekeeping force. The ISF is being established under Chapter 7 of the UN Charter, which means it is being granted the authority to disarm Palestinian resistance factions, aligning with Israeli demands, and could be established unilaterally, without the approval of the Palestinians. The UN Security Council resolution voted 13-0 in favor of the resolution, with two permanent members, Russia and China, abstaining from the vote.

British Journalist Sami Hamdi Recounts ICE Detention

British journalist Sami Hamdi, who was recently released from ICE detention in the United States, recounted what he experienced during an online discussion organized by the Freedom of the Press Foundation. Hamdi had a valid visa and a ticket for a domestic flight to Tampa, Florida, where he was scheduled to speak at a banquet for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Yet as a result of pressure from anti-Muslim activists Laura Boomer and Amy Mek, the State Department revoked his visa, and he was held in confinement for around 18 days. On October 26, the Department of Homeland Security took him into custody at the San Francisco International Airport. His detention and removal was in retaliation for his speech in support of Palestinian human rights and against the Israeli government’s genocide in Gaza.

Health Care Workers Spoke Out For Their Peers In Gaza; Then Backlash

Chandra Hassan, an associate professor of surgery at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) College of Medicine, spent three weeks in Gaza in January 2024, treating patients who had survived tank shelling, drone strikes, and sniper fire amid Israel’s ongoing genocide. When Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis came under siege, Hassan and the MedGlobal doctors he was serving with were forced to flee. “We were evacuated when they bombed just across the street from the hospital [and] tanks were rolling in,” Hassan told Truthout. When Hassan returned home to Chicago, he was eager to share his experiences and advocate for an end to Israel’s assault on Gaza, which has killed an estimated 68,000 Palestinians since October 2023.

UN Security Council Gives US ‘Mandate’ Over Palestine

The United Nations Security Council on Monday adopted a resolution that gives the world body’s imprimatur to Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza, a territory he said publicly should be ethnically cleansed to develop a Mediterranean resort. The council voted 13 nations in favor with two abstentions from China and Russia, which could have vetoed Trump’s plans. The resolution essentially revives the colonial mandate system of the League of Nations after the First World War, and the United Nations’ trusteeship system after the Second World War, both schemes in which colonial powers remained in charge of a colonized territory while it was supposed to wean it towards independence.

Ex-UN Official Decries Resolution Backing Gaza Force As ‘Colonial Outrage’

A former senior UN human rights official has denounced the Security Council’s adoption of a resolution backing a US plan for foreign forces and governance in Gaza, calling it a “colonial outrage”. Craig Mokhiber, former director of the New York office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), described the vote as a “day of shame” for the UN and accused governments worldwide of being “on their knees before the US empire and its violent Israeli client”. He criticised the "horrific" resolution as a violation of international law. “This proposal has been rejected by Palestinian civil society and factions, as well as by defenders of human rights and international law everywhere,” Mokhiber said on X.

Join Us In Italy To Support The Nationwide Strike Against Israel

Western nations will do nothing to halt Israel’s ongoing slaughter of Palestinians. They will do nothing to alleviate the hunger and disease that is decimating Palestinians in Gaza. Our nations have been, and remain, full partners in the genocide. They will remain partners until the genocide reaches its grim conclusion. Unless we stop them. At least 242 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed by Israel since the “ceasefire” was announced. The first major ceasefire breach led to Israeli airstrikes that killed more than 100 Palestinians, including 46 children, and wounded 150 others.

More Horrific Than Abu Ghraib And Guantánamo

On June 19, 2024, Khaled Mahajneh, a Palestinian citizen of Israel, became the first lawyer to visit a notorious detention facility for Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, located inside the Sde Teiman military base in the Negev Desert, one of several detention facilities established after October 7, 2023 to hold Palestinians seized in Gaza. Speaking to +972 Magazine a week after his visit, Mahanjeh drew a pertinent comparison with the treatment of Muslim prisoners in the US’s post-9/11 “war on terror”, but concluded that Israel’s behavior was even worse.

What Genocide Looks Like When Silicon Valley Writes The Brochure

It’s being called the GREAT Trust. A glossy plan for Gaza’s “redevelopment” that includes solar plants, hospitals and an Elon Musk-branded “Smart Manufacturing Zone.” But, as analysts have suggested, it only works if the people of Gaza are gone. The slides leaked over a month ago to the Washington Post spell out the game plan: Gazans will be forced to choose between dubious and iniquitous “voluntary” mass relocation or “temporary housing,” while and billionaires get their branded tech playground built on ashes and bones. This is what genocide looks like when Silicon Valley writes the brochure: ethnic cleansing dressed up as innovation.

Football Fans March In Support As Palestine Plays First European Match

Thousands marched in support of Palestine in the Spanish city of Bilbao as Palestinian footballers played their first European match against the Basque Country team. The Basque Country team beat the Palestine team 3-0 in the friendly match, which was marked by shows of solidarity between both teams. Palestinians and the Basque have long shared political sympathies, with both involved in nationalist struggles for independence. The two teams celebrated side by side, arms around each other, on the San Mames pitch in front of more than 50,000 spectators.

Global Day Of Action In Solidarity With Colombia On Monday, November 17

Friends of the Hague Group (FOTHG), which launched in July 2025  to support multilateral efforts to end the Israeli genocide and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people and to ensure that all such efforts be grounded in the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, has called for a Global Day of Action in solidarity with Colombia on Monday, November 17. FOTHG's coordinator, Adrienne Pine, explains:  "PNGO [the Palestinian NGO network—the largest collective representation of Palestinian civil society] has demanded that a Uniting for Peace measure be introduced at the UN General Assembly to send a multinational protection force to Palestine and implement sanctions and a military blockade, and President Petro of Colombia has heeded its call by committing to introduce such a resolution.

Israel Kills Gazans Trying To Return To Homes Beyond The ‘Yellow Line’

There is an invisible line dividing Gaza, and any Palestinian who attempts to cross it, or even get close to it, is killed. That is what happened to Ibrahim and Mazen al-Najjar, two men from the same family, on November 5th. Displaced in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, they attempted to go to their home in the eastern part of Khan Younis, to attempt to retrieve some belongings. It was a simple enough task. The only problem was, their home lies behind the ‘yellow line’, which is the area of Gaza under full Israeli military control since the ceasefire on October 10.

Chris Hedges Report: The Member States Complicit In Genocide

After two years of genocide, it is no longer possible to hide complicity in Israel’s crimes against the Palestinians. Entire countries and corporations are — according to multiple reports by UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine Francesca Albanese — either directly or indirectly involved in Israel’s economic proliferation. In her latest report, “Gaza Genocide: a collective crime,” Albanese details the role 63 nations played in supporting Israel’s genocide of the Palestinians. She chronicles how countries like the United States, which directly funds and arms Israel, are a part of a vast global economic web.
