Two Years Since The Al-Aqsa Flood: The Resilience Of Gaza

October 7, 2025, marks two years since the Al-Aqsa Flood boldly asserted the collective human right of the Palestinian resistance to oppose colonial occupation while dealing a death blow to the perceived invincibility of the zionist regime. In response, the imperialist coalition protecting israel – led by the United States – has intensified its genocide of the Palestinian people, extending its barbarous terror to any and all defenders of the Palestinian cause. The U.S. Central Command, or CENTCOM – which oversees an estimated 58 U.S. military bases and installations across North Africa and West & Central Asia – has played a key role in the occupation of Palestine, as well as in the violent destabilization and exploitation of the region and its peoples as a whole.

Two Years Of Israel’s Genocide In Gaza

The world as we know it died two years ago today, on October 7, 2023 — but not, as we’ve been incessantly bludgeoned into believing, because Palestinian resistance fighters who broke out of the “open-air prison” of the Gaza Strip went on a killing spree in southern Israel in a desperate response to 75 years of persistent oppression, apartheid and murder by the State of Israel. Those attacks — horrific as they were, with 1,195 people killed and 251 others taken hostage (although it should be noted that no one knows how many were killed by Israeli forces themselves under the notorious Hannibal Directive) — were portrayed by Israel as a genocide, and as an existential threat to their very existence by sub-human monsters, but that was clearly untrue.

World Leaders Rebel Against United States And Israel

World leaders from roughly 190 countries gathered in September for the general debate of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). This year, many governments condemned the United States and Israel for carrying out crimes against humanity in Gaza. Representatives of numerous countries expressed support for the Palestinian people, while denouncing Western imperialism. A UN commission and multiple UN legal experts have stated conclusively that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. At the 2025 UNGA general debate, it was left-wing leaders from Latin America who led the resistance against the US empire. Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro compared the US government to Nazi Germany and referred to Donald Trump as the “new Hitler”.

Second Wave Of Flotillas Are Heading For Gaza Now

n the past three months, citizens around the world have participated in dramatic challenges to the horrific Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza with over 66,000 known dead and at least a hundred thousand souls under the rubble, most of whom are women and children. The genocide includes the destruction of virtually all food and food distribution systems, hospitals and clinics, schools and universities, water and sanitation facilities and a huge amount of the housing for 2.2 million Palestinians in Gaza. For the past 18 years, the Gaza Freedom Flotilla Coalition has used ships to attempt to carry citizens from all over the world to Gaza in a non-violent challenge to the genocidal violence of the Israeli government and the illegal Israeli naval blockade of Gaza.

People Across Asia And Latin America Mobilize In Support Of Gaza Flotilla

Protests broke out in various countries in Asia on Thursday, October 2, following the Israeli attack on the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) on Wednesday and the abduction of hundreds of activists. The GSF, consisting of over 40 ships with hundreds of activists onboard, was heading towards the besieged Palestinian territory of Gaza in order to break the Israeli siege and deliver crucial humanitarian aid to its people forced to starve by Israel. The ships were attacked by the Israeli forces on the night of October 1, an attack which continued until October 3, when they were scores of miles away from the Gaza coast. Israeli forces abducted the activists and seized the aid the ships were carrying for the people of Gaza.

Israel Is Committing Genocide In The Gaza Strip

7 October 2025 will mark the second anniversary of Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza. The World Health Organisation’s data page on Palestinian casualties, regularly updated using figures from the Palestinian Health Ministry and UN agencies, shows that around 66,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza over the last two years – 30 out of every 1,000 people who were living in Gaza (these numbers, however may be too low, as the ministry has often admitted that it has no capacity to keep up with the flow of death and does not know how many people are buried beneath the tonnes of rubble). The UN children’s agency, UNICEF, calculates that 50,000 Palestinian children have been killed or injured.

Journalists And Healthcare Workers Sail To Challenge Israel’s Siege

A boat carrying dozens of international journalists and medical professionals from 25 countries has set sail for Gaza as part of the latest mission organized by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) to break Israel‘s illegal siege. The vessel, Conscience, bombed by Israel off the coast of Malta in May 2025, has returned to serve as a vehicle for medics and media determined to reach their colleagues in besieged Gaza. For nearly two years, Israel has barred foreign journalists from entering Gaza, creating one of the most severe and sustained press blackouts in modern history. During this time, Israeli forces have targeted Palestinian journalists, killing over 270 and imprisoning countless more since October 2023.

Last Boat In Gaza Humanitarian Flotilla Intercepted By Israel

The Israeli military has dismantled an entire humanitarian flotilla seeking to break its siege on war-ravaged Gaza, arresting hundreds of activists from dozens of vessels. Livestream video showed Israeli forces forcing their way onboard the last vessel Friday morning. The Polish-flagged Marinette, which reportedly has a crew of six, was the final boat of the Global Sumud Flotilla – once a 44-strong fleet – to be seized by Israel. The International Committee to Break the Siege of Gaza also announced in a statement that several detainees arrested by Israeli forces had “entered an open-ended hunger strike from the moment of their detention.”

Arab Grassroots Decry Israel’s Flagrant ‘Piracy’ Against Flotilla

Day after day, Israel grows more and more audacious in its quest to impose its hegemony not only over the West Asia region, but also over the entire world, violating land, air, and international waters alike. Hundreds of peaceful international activists aboard over 40 civilian vessels were subjected to a brutal act of piracy on the high seas, just 75 miles away from the Gaza coast. Their boats were loaded with life-saving humanitarian aid for the forcibly-starved two-million-person population in the Gaza Strip. The activists were kidnapped and the ships were forcibly steered towards Israeli ports. Few governments took any action to prevent the mass abduction from happening. The interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla is a grave crime, which revealed that many Western countries are indifferent to the lives of their citizens when the offender is Israel.

Global Sumud Flotilla Updates Following Illegal Interception And Abductions

Mediterranean Sea – After Israeli occupation naval forces illegally intercepted vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla —a peaceful, non-violent convoy carrying food, baby formula, medicine, and volunteers from 47 countries to Gaza—hundreds of participants have been abducted and reportedly taken aboard the large naval vessel, the MSC Johannesburg. This was after they were assaulted with water cannons, doused with skunk water, and had their communications systematically jammed in yet more acts of aggression against unarmed civilians. Additionally, several boats were reportedly stopped by a chain-like barrier in international waters where Israel has no jurisdiction, just as they have no jurisdiction over Gaza’s waters and shoreline, compounding Israel’s continued war crimes and illegal blockade.

We Said ‘We Will Block Everything’ And We Did

As boats from the Global Sumud Flotilla prepared to set sail toward Gaza from the coasts of Italy, Spain, and Tunisia, a representative of Genoa’s Dockworkers’ Union (CALP), now part of Unione Sindacale di Base, declared that if anything happened to the flotilla, workers would “block everything.” “Our young women and men must come back without a scratch,” the worker said at the port, before the flotilla ships departed. “And all this cargo, which belongs to the people and is going to the people, must reach its destination, down to the very last box.” So when the flotilla was attacked on the night of September 8 while in Tunisian waters, the reaction was swift: Italian labor unions, led by Unione Sindacale di Base, called for a 24-hour general strike on September 22.

Global Sumud Flotilla Boats Being Stolen By Israeli Occupying Forces

Below are Instagram posts from the Global Sumud Flotilla regarding their interception by the Israeli Occupying Forces. This is an evolving situation. Below those is an article from The Cradle about an earlier failed attempt to intercept the Flotilla. In response to this illegal attack on the Flotilla, masses of people are protesting throughout the European Union. Here is a call to action for people in the United States from Veterans For Peace (VFP). Members of VFP are on the Global Sumud Flotilla. Veterans For Peace has put together a Rapid Response toolkit, and we encourage EVERYBODY to start taking action NOW, or to be preparing your chapter to take action. VFP members have prepared THREE levels of Rapid Response- Green, Yellow and Red.

The Gaza ‘Peace Plan’: A Neo-Colonial Takeover

After nearly two years of the most horrific live-streamed genocide in history, the majority of the world’s eight billion people, shocked and appalled to varying degrees, want nothing less than an end to the ceaseless murder of Palestinian civilians and the total eradication of the Gaza Strip, the provision of humanitarian aid and medical supplies in vast quantities, and the reconstruction of Gaza. They — we — also want the establishment of Palestinian autonomy so thorough that Israel can no longer treat Palestinians as vermin to be slaughtered in the pursuit of the malignant dream that has been the driver of its existence since its blood-soaked founding 77 years ago — the total control of all Palestinian land, and the complete subjugation, disappearance or extermination of the entire Palestinian population.

Dockworkers Across Europe Meet To Call A General Strike For Gaza

In a union hall overlooking the sea and stacks of shipping containers in the Port of Genoa, delegations of dockworkers from both sides of the Mediterranean gathered — answering the call of their colleagues in Genoa — for an international assembly. The objective: to organize against the genocide in Palestine and Israel’s rearmament, building on the day of strikes and mobilizations that shook Italy on September 22. It was with emotion that Giovanni Ceravolo, a leader in the Unione Sindacale di Base (USB) for the port of Livorno, concluded this international meeting: We will be able to call for a first day of Europe-wide mobilization against weapons, against genocide, against rearmament. All this embodies our future tasks. The assemblies that brought us together these two days are the first step.

Trump Says Israel Can ‘Finish The Job’ In Gaza If Hamas Rejects Latest Plan

President Donald Trump says Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted the latest U.S.-backed “peace plan,” which is ostensibly aimed at securing a ceasefire in Gaza. Trump made the announcement during a joint press conference with Netanyahu, which followed a White House meeting between the two leaders. It’s Netanyahu’s fourth trip to Washington since Trump began his term in January. During the meeting, Trump facilitated an Oval Office phone call between Netanyahu and Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, in which the Israeli leader apologized for the September 9 attack on Doha. Netanyahu expressed regret about the strikes and, specifically, “that, in targeting Hamas leadership during hostage negotiations, Israel violated Qatari sovereignty,” according to a White House readout of the phone call.
